This review is solely for the football stadium…read more My daughter's high school recently played the home team St. Paul Swordsmen. The stadium is definitely a small stadium as both team fan's sit on the same side. It is an older stadium for sure. During late summer, this is definitely a challenge for several hours as you are facing west which means it will be some time before the sun goes down. I saw spots for a while as a result of inadvertently looking in the direction of the sun on several occasions. Half of the parking lot is reserved for boosters and tailgaters prior to each home game which forces fans to have to look for parking out in the street as soon as the lot is full. Restrooms were clean and centrally located under the bleachers. Food choices avail was extensive as there is something for all but be ready to wait in the long lines 20-30 minutes. All in all, an ok venue to watch high school football. As for me, I will not be in a rush to return any time soon.

I am writing to express my concern about the issue of bullying and favoritism at Santa Fe Christian School. My daughter, who is now in third grade, attended your Christian preschool in the past, where she was bullied by her classmates. She was embarrassed to tell us about it, but we later found out about the incidents. When my daughter was attending an afterschool daycare program, she was pushed by someone, and she push back in self-defense. Unfortunately, the teacher saw her punch the person, and my daughter was the one who got in trouble. This incident had a negative impact on her life, and she is still dealing with the consequences of it today. Due to the fear of being bullied again and the possibility of the school blaming her, my daughter has been an independent study since Covid. This is a problem that we are still dealing with to this day because the school did not do its part. We found that there was a great deal of favoritism at the private Christian school she was attending, and my daughter, as a person of color, was made to feel like a second-class citizen. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about my daughter's safety and well-being at school. No child should have to go through bullying or feel like they are being treated unfairly. I urge you to take this matter seriously and take immediate action to stop the bullying and address issues of favoritism at your school. They play at the football games and have also marched in the Norwalk Halloween Parade. I also suggested that my daughter try out for the Jazz Band which is 0 period. It is a commitment getting the kids there so early, but I think she has enjoyed it so far. I played the violin in H.S. and never got the opportunity to learn a brass or reed instrument. The marching band and jazz band get to go more places than our orchestra did. So I was excited for my daughter to participate. She's doing well in her classes thus far. And I was happy to learn that they have study sessions before midterms and finals. That was pretty cool. I look forward to seeing what else is in store for her.

The admins work hard to make sure the school is run smoothly, and the guidance counselors are great with helping the kids navigate through their options for after graduation. Many kids who go here are from outside the district, with parents willing to drive far just so their kids can attend. We live in one of the top school districts in the state (ABC Unified) and had other options, yet we chose to enroll our son at SEA because of the school's reputation. This school has built upon the structure and discipline our son needed in order to be a successful young adult, while emphasizing the importance of teamwork and accountability.

My son was bullied by another student who also encouraged others to join in. He was pushed, dragged, hit, and even had his shoe taken off and thrown. When we reported this, the response from Vice Principal Jenny Amaya was extremely disappointing. She dismissed the situation by saying my son was "being annoying," which is not an acceptable justification for physical bullying. What made the situation worse is that the vice principal had my child change his statement without my authorization. She essentially coached him on what to say, and the revised statement appeared to minimize what happened and protect the school. This is where everything escalated and became even more concerning. There also appeared to be a conflict of interest, as the student who initiated the bullying was reportedly related to the vice principal. This raises concerns about fairness and whether the situation was handled objectively. At the time, the school also had a new principal who seemed unaware of what was going on, and no meaningful action was taken. I reported the issue to the district, but nothing was done. The lack of accountability and follow-through is very concerning. Overall, this experience left us feeling that the school does not provide a safe or supportive environment for all students. I hope improvements are made so that no other family has to go through a similar situation. Some teachers are great!
