Yelp Review 2025 #183: Buenos Aires has two international airports: EZE (the main and bigger airport but farther from the city center), and AEP or Jorge Newbery (smaller but close to the city center). I wasn't a huge fan of getting off the plane with my bags, taking a bus, waiting for the bus to get full, heading to the gate and vice versa especially late at night and you're already tired and ready for bed. Fortunately, the staff here were super helpful and pleasant. Somebody was waiting for us as soon as we got off the bus to skip the maze of this airport and took us through a door that got us to our gate in 5 minutes! But here's where it gets messy, flights about to leave are boarding at the same gate! One flight was so slow to board that my flight boarded 30 minutes later than scheduled! Why not use a different gate??? There were 2 gates that were open next to the gate everyone seems to want to use! As a result, my arrival at my destination was late. Also, the ground crew at the tarmac do not have ear protectors. The guy seriously was sticking his fingers in his ears!

Small airport is in downtown Buenos Aires. The plane landed on the tarmac, and we were taken by bus to the terminal. There was a long ladies room line & an endless walk to the other end of the terminal to get on the taxi line as many doors were locked. Outside we had to walk the distance of the terminal to get to the front of the taxi line. We couldn't just get in a taxi we had to get on WiFi, scan a code , enter our destination, get price and show the code to the driver. Without checked luggage it took an hour to get in a taxi & we are hot, wet and very tired.

Very basic airport, close to Buenos Aires City Center. Used AEP airport for a flight back to Sao Paulo. Airport is pretty much no-frills with limited facilities. International terminal has a duty free shop, a few cafe like venues, Outback Steakhouse and no airport lounge. Also only one bathroom, as the terminal is small, but it was clean. Not too many places to charge your phone/computer ... There are charging stations near gate 16, but they're usually being used by others. One good benefit of this airport is that immigration and security are pretty fast in the international terminal. I sped thru immigration in about 10 minutes. While lounge access is nice, I would rather have a speedy immigration and security process over a sub-par lounge. Overall an average airport that got the job done.

It's relatively new. Easy to navigate. One uses this airport for domestic flights. As well as flights to from neighboring country (look at a map) Immaculately maintained. Well air conditioned. Lots of seating. Easy checkin, even when you have to buy for excess luggage and wait on another line after checkin. Security line well staffed and easy to get through. Security agents attractive, which is nice when you have to be patted down. Lots of places to get food. If you read reviews where people and whine about the airport they are to be discounted. They are the types who live to complain. Oh, very clean bathrooms.

Gayle and I were recently in and out of AEP on the following occasions: - A 5:05 AM flight to Trelew - A 1:05 PM flight to Igazu - A 9:40 AM flight from Jujuy, a layover, and then a 2:00 PM flight to Bariloche - A 11:50 AM flight from Bariloche The only real issue Gayle and I had during our multiple experiences here was the fact that the Jujuy to Bariloche connection required collecting our bags on the Arrivals side of the airport and then walking over to the Departures side and going through Security again. That's a lot of hassle for a "hub and spoke" transfer. Here are the positives: - Straightforward check-in at the Aerolineas Argentinas counter. All we needed to do was pick whether we were flying North or South and get in the right line, which moved along. - Straightforward Security screening. There were 2 lines with a simple scanner and usually a simple pat down. Sometimes we needed to take our electronics out, but never our shoes. - Nice shopping and dining options. We had Lunch one day at the Hard Rock Cafe and early AM coffee and sweets at Havana. - Decent free Wi-Fi, although reception struggled within the Hard Rock Cafe. - Clean and roomy Departures area and clear status update boards. However, I'm still trying to figure out what pre-embarque really means. - Direct and easy bus transfers between the gate and the plane, or the plane and the baggage area. I'd rather go directly on the plane, but this alternative wasn't too shabby. This was perhaps our best Argentina airport experience and shines well above our International Airport experience.

This is by far the most impressive small airport that must exist in LatAm. While big brother, EZE, is a colossal (and dated) nightmare, this diminutive city airport is super easy to get in and out of, offers tons of dining options, shines bright with an updated aesthetic and even gives the people free wi-fi. This here is a true gem. If you're arriving, head to the radio taxi area (ask if you can't find it). It's completely safe and you'll pay a bit less than buying a ticket for a private car service company (which may seem like the only option once near the exit). For those departing, you'll find lots of food and drink options inside and outside the terminal (and if, like me, you didn't quit get your medialuna fix, you can score some sweetened croissants here). Love this airport? Why yes I do.

Decent place, can't get better in location only 10 minutes into Palermo if there's no traffic and a waterfront view (thought not pretty). It's small and easy navigate, though the lines for Aerolinea Argentina are a mess and often block traffic which makes it a nightmare to get around. Upstairs is much calmer with a food court with several different options. I tried the academia of pizza, which was underwhelming, but sufficient for a mozzarella pizza sprinkled with two or three olives and soda which was offered with the food voucher for my 6 hour delay in flight. There's only one restaurant and one snack stand upstairs terminal A past security, so if you want your Havanna cookie, you better get it before security. Waiting area plastic chairs are easy to clean, but definitely lack comfort for a 6 hour wait. Bathrooms are clean, but incredibly tight if you have any luggage. Woman's bathrooms have the toilet paper dispenser fairly low to the ground, toward the back and as an afterthought a bigger trash can was added to the same side, in front of it, making it hard to reach and hard to get in through the door and close it behind you. Free wifi is great, but it's barely enough bandwidth to open some apps. I was unable to open some and I couldn't send simple emails (no attachments). Wifi also cuts out frequently, but I guess you can't complain when it's free.
This is our first time in Argentina and we spent a few days in Buenos Aires and now we are headed out to Iguazu Falls. Our travel company booked us with Argentina Airlines so this will be our first experience with them. This particular airport is very convenient to town, we were here within 20 minutes, so that is really nice! I am not understanding why people are stating they are dropped off on the tarmac as where we are at gate eight I can see plenty of jet Bridge usage. As we taxied out to takeoff I did see some planes that were disembarking onto the tarmac so I'm not sure what determines whether you get a jet bridge or not unless it's just plain size. We were on a 737 800. There are plenty of restaurants here, including a hard rock café, a French bakery, pizza place and a couple different coffee shops, including a Starbucks there's not enough seating at the gate per flight, but people spread out into other areas. there was enough room until the pilots decided to strike for a couple of hours so everyone was delayed As soon as the strike was lifted, the boarding process began quickly I did notice that they do have some international departures from here so it's not just domestic as I had originally thought ADDING as we had to come back through here flying from Iguazu to Mendoza, and we had to use the stairs on the tarmac, lol. I am not sure how they decide who gets a jet bridge and who doesn't but here we are. Very difficult for mobility limited passengers. read more

Small but mighty. This airport does local and international trips. It's also within 10-15 minutes of Palermo and super accessible to the rest of the city. The Uber area is also right in front and airport WiFi is still reachable there so navigating transportation out of the airport is no hassle at all. Also, given the location, flights in and out give a really pretty, up close view of BA. There's a Priority Pass lounge in there that gets crowded pretty quickly but turnover is quick so wait times aren't too long. Cleanliness could be a tad better but honestly, given the size and number of people who come through, they do a pretty good job! read more

This is an easy to navigate medium-sized airport. I've flown out of this airport twice and flown in once. Every time the airport has been moderately busy but not hectic. Of the three flights I've taken either in or out of this airport, there haven't been any sky bridges to board or deplane from, so you actually take a bus to or from the airplane to board and traverse up the portable stairs old-school style. Kind of makes you feel like you're in another time! Another thing I really enjoy about this airport is the close proximity to the Rio del Plata. You get an amazing view of sailboats and tankers heading out to the Atlantic. If you're lucky enough to get a window seat, it's so much fun to watch! As far as more practical matters pertaining to this airport- there are adequate food options and the baggage claim and taxi stands/ ride shares are easy to navigate. There isn't a lot of glitz to make this airport standout, but the easy navigability of this airport makes it a less stressful experience, especially when you're traveling from abroad. read more

This airport is also known as "AEP". It is 1 of 2 airports in Buenos Aires. It is located in the Palermo area and is right along the Río de la Plata. It is also very close to the city center which makes it kind of nice when grabbing a taxi to go to/from there. It is a hub for airlines such as Jet Smart and Aerolineas Argentinas, however, there are a few other airlines that fly in/out of here as well. It is mainly for regional and national flights, but there are some international flights in/out of here. Again, the airport is easy to get to from the city since it is so close. We took a taxi and barely experienced any traffic going there. Once there, it takes a few minutes to get your bearings and know where you need to go. For a small airport, this is a very busy place and can be overwhelming. I know there is only so much crowd control the staff can do, but give it a little extra time when coming here due to the crowds and people just being in the way. There is a lack of information type of desks and/or stands which makes it a little nerve-racking. Search for "that person" with a lanyard if you know what I mean and ask for help if you need it. Depending on the airline you are flying, it could further the confusion from staff sending you to the wrong place and/or just not being helpful. As you know, the airport itself is not responsible for the nightmare experience of any airline, nor the poor organizational, customer service, etc. skills of the airline employees you choose. Just be prepared for anything. It is a clean airport and it has a lot to offer as far as shopping and restaurants. There is a Hard Rock Café and a duty-free shop to name a few. Security was thorough and quick, which we all can appreciate. Once past security, it was easy to navigate...thank goodness! There seems to be more than ample amount of seating if needed and there is wi-fi too. read more

Close to downtown, Aeroparque, as it's known, is very convenient. This is the BA airport for domestic flights plus neighboring countries. If you arrive early, you can go for a walk in park across the street. Decent restaurants for coffee, snacks or a meal. The waiting area in the second floor is way nicer than a newer airport would ever have with comfortable chairs and tables overlooking the park and river in front of the airport. The security process is quick, efficient and almost friendly. read more

Domestic airport servicing local flights. Facilities are very mediocre. Had to use this airport on a recent flight between 2 cities in Argentina. It was during lunch time and We wanted to get something to eat. The food choices were very limited. A few cafes to choose from and we decided to go with one that had a reasonable menu that served alcohol. The service was terrible, to be expected. Security lines were not long at all, we got through in 5 min. The airport is not huge so it was a short walk to our gate. Bathrooms are not super clean and the WORST part is there were no power outlets to be found anywhere! Need an update to the modern world. read more
AEP was such a breeze to go from Santiago, Chile. The flight was a bit rough with landing but that's not entirely the airport's fault. When getting off of the plane, we walked for maybe 5 minutes to get to customs. Customs took a little while but there were a lot of employees so the line was moving at a reasonable speed. After customers, we walked through a shop and immediately saw our luggage on the belt. I was shocked that everything was so close to each other and it was easy to navigate. Surprisingly, we didn't have to get our bags xrayed even though most people had to. Finding taxis were easy but they definitely bombard you over it. Simply go to a black and yellow cab and you will be fine. We actually met a taxi driver who spoke English and gave us a little tour of the city while driving to the destination (he told us the fee beforehand so we weren't being overcharged for any extra driving if there was any. I know NYC does that sometimes). He was wonderful and gave us his number to call him if we need anything. All in all, great airport! But I will update when it's time to fly through it again shortly. read more

Clean, efficient and surprisingly bigger than I was expecting. The security checkpoint is a joke. The "pat down" I got after the alarm went off was a half hand on the gut and lower back. Most of the places to grab food and drink are before the security checkpoint so I'd recommend going there if you have time. Past security is pretty much a Hard Rock Cafe, where the service was amazing but the food sucked, to no surprise. Plus, downstairs before security has places where you can overlook the ocean. read more

When you think of local airports, you think small scale without the luxuries of an international airport. AEP aka Jorge Newbury is a great airport that services domestic and a few international flights within South America. Firstly it's easy to find your way around this surprisingly busy airport thanks to all their signage. Secondly it's got the cleanest baños/restrooms that I've ever seen which is regularly cleaned every 10 mins...No joke about that. Thirdly they've got a lot of food options available with many food promotions etc. Also there are plenty of seating areas with plug in outlets for you to charge your electronics. Other goodies are their gift shops and duty free. Only minor set back was the fact I could not find a USB wire to buy at their stores for my android phone. ...hmmm but only for iPhone..Oh well. Either way clean, spacious airport that's well maintained. read more
This medium size airport services both domestic and some international flights, like to Montevideo, Uruguay for example which is only a ~30-40 minute flight away. The boarding areas for domestic and international flights are literally on opposite ends of the airport but the walk isn't too bad. The food options are more when compared to other Argentinian cities airports but by no means extensive. This airport is approximately 1 hour drive from Ezeiza, Buenos Aires main international airport. A remise from Ezeiza airport will cost you around $1480 Argentinian pesos or $25 USD. read more
For a small airport in Argentina, this is place is pretty busy. Nothing is small about it, only reason why it seems small is because the larger airport is on the other side of town and this place is easily accessible from the street. Get the SUBE card from the drug stores and just take the bus into the city, its cheaper and its way more fun than a taxi. Also the taxis here charge way too much money. read more

I like this airport a lot - maybe even love it. Jorge Newbery is mostly for regional domestic flights and nearby international flights. Aerolinas Argentina flys out of here and they are a superb local carrier. My experience at Newbery is always good. They are efficient in all areas - ticketing, security, boarding, etc. and the facility is up to date with lots of choices for shopping and dining. Several times when I've had tight connections between Ezeiza (international airport 40km away) and Newbery (mid-day traffic between the two is a nightmare). When this happens, I sometimes arrive with only 40 minutes until flight time - sometimes less. I've never had a problem getting through ticketing and security in less than 20 minutes. It's also nice because its basically in the city and when you fly into Buenos Aries and arrive here, you're only minutes away from your hotel or apartment. read more

This terminal is the best option to arrive in Buenos Aires. Well-located, close to the touristic neighbourhoods such as Recoleta and Palermo (20-min taxi ride). Aeroparque receives flights from closest countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile. read more
If you're staying in Palermo, this airport is so convenient (says the person who had a flight that departed at 4:50 am - WHO DOES THAT!!! Aerolineas Argentinas does). I love this airport. A 10 minute drive from Palermo, arriving here won't break the bank. Divided into arrivals and departures and further divided into international and domestic departures. You can be efficient by checking in at a kiosk or choose to make the line. I left my place at 5 AM and was buying my Havanna coffee at 5:30 AM! Wonderful! Domestic security has 3 or 4 lines and they all go by quick. Also FREE WIFI with an email address. Hallelujah. I much prefer this airport to EZE. read more
This is the city airport of Buenos Aires (think LGA - not JFK). If you're flying from within Argentina into Buenos Aires, there's a good chance you'll stop here. I did on my way out of the country and getting a taxi (and paying by credit card) to the main airport was no problem. Friendly people working here at the gates and the transportation area. Things I like about this airport: - Location. Very convenient airport to the north of city. It was an easy bus (4) from Ave Gran Las Heras, Recoleta, where we were staying. We were actually surprised at how close it was - definitely save money and take the bus if you are in Recoleta or Palermo. As for the airport itself, it was clean and large-ish but I was somewhat underwhelmed. You get through security and have to walk through a crazy dutyfree/clusterF sales area that seems to have everything in the world but no soda or water or snacks for the plane! Then it was the weirdest thing, we just wanted to get snacks and drinks but we stopped in 3 stores that seemed like they would have drinks but had none! If you want to be able to take a drink on the plane, not sit down at a restaurant, there was only one place in the whole hall where you could get them! I was bothered by that. They also only had water "with gas" at that one place. Not to complain too much about trivial things, but you have to judge airports on something.. I want easy access to drinks! 3-stars, A-OK but nothing special. read more

Buenos Aires' predominantly domestic airport was my departing airport when traveling from BA to El Calafate. It's located in the city, not far from Palermo area (maybe 10-15 minutes by cab), so much more convenient than EZE. There is no metro stop at the airport, so definitely need wheels of some type to get there. The city airport is a bit dated but has all the necessities. Check in had a little bit of a line. Aerolinea Argentina was our carrier, and unfortunately I was bit over on the luggage allowance. In the event that happens, you are given a voucher (not a boarding pass) and are instructed to head to a separate area to pay for luggage. Once you pay, the cashiers there will issue your boarding pass. Once you get through security, there are a few places to get food & beverages. Depending on how full your flight is, you may find that each gate doesn't have enough seating. Our gate had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the runway and beyond that the city of Buenos Aires. Otherwise, there's not much negative to say about the airport. read more

Have spent about 5 hrs in this airport after all the strikes that resulted my flights cancelled means I know this airport quite well. It's quite small, I wouldn't say it is international it's more on the domestic side. I flew in from el calafate for my connecting flight to iguazu. There is a few shops but most importantly there is a cafe/bar that is open pretty much 24 hrs. They have snacks like empanadas and sandwiches. If you're arriving to head out to buenos aires, there is two main options for you. Getting your way out to town within the baggage area and also outside. The service centre has both windows. Taxis is commonly use. Buses is only mainly to drop you at another bus station. They also do transfer to the international airport EZE. If you're travelling with aerolineas Argentina, they provide a free shuttle. I had no need for this as I was connecting to Iguazu so I'm not sure where or who you need to speak to for this. Be careful getting taxis outside at the rank as they can charge you whatever they feel like. This airport is very close to Palermo. If you're going there it's best you book through one of the booth inside which will cost you 260pesos. read more

Had a flight to Iguazu, arrived in the morning and had plenty of time to kill. Wife and I decided to have breakfast. Went to a a place called "Tienda de Cafe" . Service was nonexistent, waiters kept coming and going and ignoring us. We finally got noticed, ordered 2 cafe con leche and 1 ham and cheese sandwich. We paid 250 pesos for this...around 30 dls. To compare, at a restaurant in Iguazu city with nice service, nice waiter...2 full meals with drinks...210 pesos. The airport service in whole was good. Quick easy in and out. Employees were OK. But run away from any food places here. Prices are ridiculously high and service sucks. read more

Jorge Newbery Airfield (Spanish: Aeroparque "Jorge Newbery", IATA: AEP, ICAO: SABE) is located in Palermo neighbourhood, 2 km (1.2 mi) northeast of downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina. The airport covers an area of 138 hectares (341 acres) and is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A. It is located in the Palermo ward, along the Río de la Plata, and serves as the main hub for domestic flights from Buenos Aires as well as to Uruguay. The airport is named in honor of Argentine aviator Jorge Newbery. The Argentine Air Force Station located on the eastern end of the airport is where authorities normally board the Tango 01 presidential aircraft. Newbery Airfield is roughly equal to Ezeiza International Airport (located 38 kilometres (24 mi) to the south) in airline traffic among the nation's 33 airports, handling 93,346 aircraftmovements in 2009 and serving 9,552,504 passengers in 2013 (one third of all scheduled air traffic in Argentina); it thus surpassed Ezeiza International in 2013 as the nation's busiest airport by passenger traffic. read more

This is an airport that makes things difficult for you (like needing a ticket prior to getting a taxi, or a ticket before checking bags, or a bus before catching a plane) so they can charge fees and taxes.
