I did a little trek in the general area we were in. Like mentioned earlier, this airport is busy due to the Sunday crowd of passengers coming and going through. But it wasn't uncomfortable or anything like that. As crowded as it was, there was still plenty of space to maneuver around everyone. I noticed how generally clean it is. I don't even remember seeing any clutter anywhere. They must have staff making it remains as so. Structure is very modern, high ceilings are always good. Plenty of choice for eateries as well as stores for souvenirs. Good first run. Wouldn't mind coming through here again.

The international security is now on top while the domestic security is near the ticket agents. Security is easy. No need to take off shoes or remove electronics. Just remember to pack your Mexican cheese in your suitcase and not in your carryon bag or it will be removed. The upper level is newer as it has been remodeled. There are a lot of stores and restaurants. Going to the A gates still sucks as you either have to walk on the tarmac or take a bus to get on an airplane. Somewhere between getting off the plane and exiting the airport, I lost my wallet. It had my Green Card, bank cards, Social Security card, and important documents inside. I reported it immediately -- literally within minutes -- hoping airport staff could help me review security cameras or locate where it was lost. Unfortunately, I never received any real help or follow-up. Later, I was told to go to the Public Ministry (Ministerio Público), but they also refused to help because they said it was "not a crime," only a lost item. I was informed that security cameras showed someone picked up my wallet and later flew out of the country, but they could not provide any information or try to contact the person, even though airports have passenger records. Because my Green Card was inside, I was unable to return to the United States as planned and had to go through a very stressful process. I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service and assistance I received. In many other countries, there would at least be an effort to contact the person who found the wallet or take stronger action to help recover important documents. Please be very careful with your belongings at this airport. If you lose something important, don't expect much help. Like other passengers, they were curious how the game was going so any of them streamed the game on their phones. As our plane pulled back and waited for further instructions, Spain scored. And the plane went wild. But there was still a few minutes, I noticed our plane moved so slowly across the tarmac. I'm not sure if this was deliberate, but the game ended before we took off with Spain taking the big prize. Everyone in the flight were in cheers, and someone even yelled, "Thank you to the pilot!" in Spanish. We all laughed it up and applauded. If it was deliberate, he had a whole flight appreciating it. An hour into the 3+ hour flight, I felt like a snack. I've been nothing but curious about the cup-o-noodle combo. (It's popular, I've seen many people order this on each Mexico flight I've been on.) So I got it mainly out of curiosity. Eh. It was alright. It got too salty in the end. Good thing for the Sprite as it tamed that down. Not a fan, overall, but at least I'm curious no more. The plus side is they give you a Wi-Fi password with your order. It's too bad the signal was choppy. Hit and miss at best. The flight was okay overall. It was smooth for the most part. We were comfortable. But the best thing out of it: we didn't have to wait to arrive to LAX to find out who won the world cup. Outbound, I've seen differences in 3 Mexican airports in the last 6 weeks. US citizens just show their passport at the boarding gate. US citizen/Mexican resident or dual nationals must still go to the INS office prior to departure. (This was not the case at HMO or SJD) At boarding. American had to send me outside to get my passport stamped. Not Americans fault. Missed my flight but Fredy at America rebooked me at no additional cost, despite change of connection and destination airports. Hopefully MX INS changes where all airports are consistent. Until then, American should text an advise to their passenger and GDL airport should post signs.
