Dirty, disorganized, and with bare-bones amenities for travelers, this is the worst airport I've been to for years. I got stuck here overnight, and both staff and facilities were entirely inadequate. Repeated recorded messages about being prepared with an electronic boarding pass and permanently separated seats made resting impossible, while the airport staff locked the doors and refused to let anyone leave while promising the flight would be ready in just a few hours when it repeatedly was not. No water! No toilet paper! I will never fly through Mazatlan again if I can help it. Better come by ship, or fly to Culiacan nearby and catch a bus.

Small airport but easy to manure around. They have shops and book store and jewelry store and options of food. I particular like Mesas, the tortilla soup is really good. You won't get lost and going thru security is really easy without big lines. I actually like it, you don't have the fancy super mall inside the airport like in US, who wants to spend more money before or after the trip??? Not me.
There is hardly anything written about the International Airport in Mazatlan. I would say that it is like Burbank Airport (easy in and easy out). It is clearly more progressive, in terms of shops and eateries. Don't get me wrong, this is still a small space. Getting in and out of here is a breeze. No hassle. But there is more work to be done. The airline check out counter monitors (on my way out), are only displaying signs of the airport logo. Even when they are open to customers. Problem is, where do you go, there is no airline display. Lack of signage. Only talking to attendants on duty, can you get proper guidance, then to the right place. Very disappointing. read more

For a small airport, it should be easy to navigate. The only issue, signs and directions can be clearer. For instance, Gate 4 is written on a glass door in frost stencil, practically blending into the glass. The way to determine section A and section B, also difficult. Again, should be easy to navigate but a little off on executing signage. read more

This airport is constantly changing both at the bottom and second floor. Outside of the airport is an open space parking lot, fairly calm, with not so many parked cars, and conveniently a skip, hop, and jump across a not-so-busy street. The sliding glass door entrances to the airport are seconds away when passengers are being picked up or dropped off. It's that quick. Mazatlan airport has no elevators. So, expect one escalator that lead to top floor, stairs that lead to bottom gates and a ramp that lead to luggage claim and airport exit. Once past security check, also expect long walks through low ceiling and plain looking hallways. Heads up, downstairs gates can get very crowded (standing in line or sitting), and stuffy especially during warmer seasons. I call it "dungeon" room, as I sometimes feel passengers that are waiting in this area are crammed in a small, low ceiling space and barely feel the air conditioning. There are windows, at least. New restaurants have been popping up here and there, filling up wall space, both bottom and second floors. More chairs have been added on the second floor as well. There is a VIP Premium lounge. It's clean, not crowded and offer tables and comfy seats. Don't expect much when comes to food (peanuts, chips, cookies, sometimes sandwiches, beverages). It's a mini VIP lounge...not premium. Despite Mazatlan's airport size, lots of progress and improvements has been done since Covid days. Slowly but surely some of its old low ceiling infrastructure and crickety looking areas will soon be of the past. read more

I flew into this airport when I took a weekend excursion to Mazatlan. We flew in here on a Saturday morning, and we proceeded to get a rental car. The office was a short walk away from the front entrance of the airport. The staff there was friendly and helpful. We were able to get one with full insurance coverage for the days that we spent here. In short, it was a smooth arrival into this fine city. My journey back home was not as great as my arrival, however. When I got to the airport, I found out that the air conditioning had gone out. This was not good news, as Mazatlan has a hot and humid climate, so waiting to board my flight was not a comfortable experience. The airport is small, so there are not a lot of offerings as far as food and snacks. There was only one small bar close to my gate, and the workers there were also in misery due to the defunct air conditioning that day. When flying into Mazatlan, this airport is the only option, unless one opts to drive here from Culiacan (a 3-hour drive). I recommend travelling here with clothing appropriate for tropical weather. Bring a hand-held fan, in case the A/C goes out when you're here. The airport of Mazatlan, much like the city, is safe. Just don't come looking for trouble, and don't make awkward questions. read more

This is the worst, most disorganized airport I have ever been in. Makes it easy to decide not to ever return to Mazatlan. First, it took 2 and a half hours to get luggage and get through customs. Someone who has been here a few times said that is because they have many planes landing at the same time and do not make any organizational or staffing adjustments. She said there were 11 international flights that landed on Saturday afternoon. (She also said they had 17 international flights the day before. ) They herded us like cattle thru the airport, some sections were air conditioned, some not. The baggage claim area was so crowded you couldn't see the bags or the beginning of the line, and the signs were all incorrect. I almost fainted from the heat in there. There were 2 customs agents for all these hundreds of passengers. The crowning glory was the server who ripped me off for breakfast. My friend and I had a small breakfast at Flaps and she charged me $31 USD which is over 600 pesos. Yes I know it is my fault for not being more careful but I am still really pissed. read more

Carece de servicio y comunicación con sus pasajeros. Por favor, agregue personal para atender las preguntas de todos, ya que la cancelación y el cambio de vuelos necesitan respuestas. read more

Small airport but they do what airports need to do very well. We were in and out of ticketing within 20 minutes and through security in another 20 minutes or so. Since the site is smaller, navigating around the airport is very easy. There are a few restaurants (fast food, Mexican food, bar, coffee shop) and shops to visit if you have extra time as well as a Priority Pass accessible lounge before you get to the main gates. Staff were very friendly, time-efficient, and professional. Site was clean and very safe. read more

The airport is very small but you do have some food options and shopping options! Which in most tiny airports it's unheard of. I loved that the security line was non-existent and I was able to calmly walk to my gate after having breakfsat at the restaurant. Speaking of hte restaurant, it has awesome options for good mexican breakfast! read more

This airport is Covid city. No restriction, dirty I didn't see any sanitation stations. It's been by far my least favorite airport. Also no one even asked for the covid survey they asked us to take before boarding. Extremely happy to be out of that airport. read more

Fast, clean and safe airport! Nothing like LAX. There was no wait and plenty of restaurants to grab a drink at.
As airports go, this one has some pros and cons, but not for your typical "ugh airports" reasons. Pro: -small, so you probably won't get lost or miss a connection. -So small, they have a greeter after customs to help direct you to a taxi or your resort's shuttle- they even know the resort drivers by name! -air conditioned, but not too heavily so you're freezing while it's hot out. -not too many flights each day, so check-in and security move pretty quickly. -you off-board or board the plane from one of two ramps at the front & rear doors, rather than a jetbridge- this part was especially great bc it meant us back-row dwellers got off the plane much faster than we expected (and were among the first 10 or so in the customs line). Con: -the gates are at ground level and solitary from all the upstairs restaurants/shops, minus one stand with some snacks and drinks. Forget power outlets. There aren't any. -even upstairs there aren't a ton of options for food/snacks, but somehow more than I expected. -for some reason the flights arrive and depart in clusters, even though this means there are not nearly enough staff at customs when you arrive, or chairs in the gate waiting area for multiple planes worth of people when leaving. We sat on the floor for three flights to depart in the hour before our flight, then got confused about which passengers were in which boarding line. If you go: Don't try to take a bus unless you know what you're doing. Taxi rides to here are ~$320 pesos or $17 USD. Avoid the resort shuttle if you don't want to get pressured into attending their timeshare presentations. Or do, if you like that kinda thing or enjoy torturing the salespeople-- the perks do get better the more times you say no! read more

On 1/21/21, I was boarding flight 5D8037 to Mexico City. I had two hand crafted wooden items. A domino set and a statue of a ram. After putting my bag through the screening machine, they checked it and informed me that I couldn't take the domino set because it was either too heavy or that it could be used as a weapon. To this day I really have no idea why I couldn't bring it, especially since they allowed me to keep the ram statue-a statue that weighed as much as the domino set and to be honest, if anything was to be used as a weapon, it would of been the statue since it has a big and solid wood base. Whatever the reason or policy, it seemed totally arbitrary. Either both items should have been confiscated or I should have been allowed to keep both. Totally bogus ending to what had been a very pleasant stay in Mazatlan. The supervisor was rude and couldn't state what policy she was upholding when confiscating the domino set. Advice to everyone, even if you don't need to take a suitcase, do so. Or risk being a victim of idiocy at the airport. read more

This airport makes me not want to return to Mazatlan. Checking bags is tedious for no reason. Security is very lacking. It's not possible to go back out into the foyer once you pass security. The staff refuse to communicate. read more

Finding an affordable taxi was difficult; however, I was recommended Taxi Tour Mazatlán. We agreed on the pick-up time, they were punctual, and they charged 350 pesos, which I paid upon arrival at my destination. 6691 96 40 98 read more
