This is the second time I have stayed here. Both experiences were similar. The hotel sits right across from the malecon in the Historico Centro. It is a budget hotel with a high-end location. Our room was ~$1,400 pesos for two nights ($70 US). If you pay about $100 pesos more you can get an ocean view room with a balcony. I have not stayed in one of the ocean view rooms. I was concerned about street noise, but we noticed coming back to our room about midnight that there did not seem to be much traffic noise. Next time I'll try the ocean view room. The hotel itself is very charming and has a farmacia and a Kiosko (convenience store) attached. It also has a restaurant (The Shrimp Bucket) that appears to only be open for breakfast and lunch. There is secure parking available two blocks away for $150 pesos per night. There is a central courtyard that has comfy chairs placed during the day and magnificent trees growing up out of the smallest planter boxes. Beautiful. The rooms are average. The beds are standard Mexican - harder than usual. The pillows this time were awful. Very lumpy like they have been washed too many times. If you are staying for a week or more, consider running to Walmart and spending $200 pesos on a couple of new pillows. The shower did not have hot water one evening when we showered before going out. Other than that, the rooms are fine. A/C blows cold, everything is clean, seemed very safe. You are a short walk from the Plaza Machado, the cathedral, the Mercado Pino Suarez and some of the best restaurants in Mazatlán. Read my restaurant reviews to get some good advice. Thanks. read more
