We came here for a flu shot for my daughter and the entire staff was very friendly and super helpful! The facility is modern newly built and located in a shopping center. The nurse that administered my daughter's flu shot was extremely knowledgeable; she recognized how tiny my daughter was and decided to use a smaller needle for the injection. Best place in the area for urgent care medical needs. And they accept most insurance! read more

Dr. Mark Pita from AFC Primed in eastchase saw my mom last month 6/2/2026 and diagnosed her with Thyrotoxicosis. This is not a diagnosis to wait around with, but needs to be seen urgently. He "referred" my mom to another clinic, but my mom has never heard back. She has called AFC primed 3 times (goes straight to voicemail) and has went in person twice to figure things out, but they never gave her an answer. So I went into AFC primed today after over a month of not hearing back from the clinic they so "referred" her to and they never gave me a reason on why she was never referred. It's because they never did. It takes 3-4 days just for my mom to make an appointment, so who knows when she'll actually be seen? If this was done correctly a month ago she would already be seen. Never been here before and my first initial encounter was rude and snappy! Out of all businesses healthcare you should have more patience and professionalism because people that are seeking your assistance are in pain or in discomfort. After years of holding this in, I feel a responsibility to speak out and warn others. Especially young Black men, workers, and those living with visible or invisible disabilities. Dr. Mark Anthony Pita is one of the most heartless, unprofessional, and dangerous doctors I've ever encountered. In August 2020, I came to AFC Primed on Berryhill Rd in Montgomery, AL in serious back pain after work. I was a young Black man just trying to get medical help. Instead, I was mocked by the nurses when I tried to speak (possibly due to my voice or speech impediment), and then subjected to a cold, careless exam by Dr. Pita. He didn't introduce himself. Didn't show a shred of empathy. I explained my symptoms and lifted my shirt to show the sunk on my left side, and I saw this man flinch in disgust like I was something gross. He poked around a little, said one side was stronger, and sent me off for an X-ray. The tech was the only respectful person there. When he returned, he walked in the room and didn't even sit down. Didn't look me in the eye. He just said flatly: "You have scoliosis. It's something people live with." No context. No plan. Just a soul-crushing statement with zero care. When I had an emotional breakdown, he didn't react, not even human concern. I had to ask him about yoga or physical therapy, and all he gave me was a half-assed nod and a dismissive "Sure, you can try yoga." He handed me a prescription for muscle relaxers that could've harmed me, and walked out like I was a waste of time. Later, when I needed a signature for unemployment (because my job was worsening my condition), he basically accused me of being lazy. "I have patients with scoliosis who work just fine," he said smugly, ignoring my actual pain. He deliberately blocked my claim by writing I could work as long as I didn't lift over 30 lbs. Another doctor told me that if I'd kept working that job, I could've ended up paralyzed. Dr. Pita nearly destroyed my future because he refused to listen, to care, or to act like a decent human being. This man trained at the USC Keck School of Medicine, yet he bounces between low-grade AFC clinics with awful reviews -- that should tell you everything. His previous practice in Mobile? Shut down. Why? Take a wild guess. Dr. Mark Anthony Pita is a walking malpractice case. He sees struggling Black men as lazy, not human. He's not just a bad doctor, he's a danger to patients. Avoid this doctor at all costs. He shouldn't be allowed near anyone. read more

Scheduling was easy enough online and the lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. A tech swabbed me for strep as she stood behind me and to my side, reaching around and blindly swabbing. My concerns about this were brushed off by both the tech and Dr. Mark Pita, even when standing my ground.  Believe it or not, it's very easy to feel the difference in a tonsil swab and having the roof of your mouth swabbed. He actually told me that I "really don't have much tonsils left," which I found to be an incredibly bizarre statement.  They are very much intact and what does that even mean "not much left?" Left from what? From when? There could've been no comparison as he only looked down my throat one time. I almost laughed at how ridiculous the dismissal of my concern was. He then went on to diagnose me with a virus and prescribed an antibiotic. Let me be very clear, Dr. Mark Pita prescribed an antibiotic to treat a viral illness. At bare minimum, that is unsafe and ineffective care . As a registered nurse, I am shocked and disgusted to have witnessed such casual, careless disregard for patient care. This type of inappropriate practice and willful negligence will undeniably result in adverse patient outcomes.  After my visit, I was unable to access my discharge paperwork and was prompted to call the facility.  The response I received pretty much concluded with "sorry I can't do anything about that." I was, however, read the information through to include diagnoses, rx info, etc, without hesitation. After all, I couldn't access the mobile link to my discharge paperwork because, get this, my identity couldn't be verified.  Make that make sense, HIPPA. I cannot and do not, in any way, shape or form recommend seeking care from Dr. Pita at AFC/Primed EastChase. Do better. I will not be back regardless. read more

They were not helpful. They use a non contact Check in and my phone wouldn't work with it. They were supposed to bring a tablet for me to use and show me how to use it. I'm 72 and I am not tech savvy and I guess I interrupted her scrolling on the phone. I told her I was going somewhere else where I could get some help. Rude! I haven't been to this AFC in several years and they used to be very nice at the desk. I'm sure the doctors are better than the front desk. I went to Primed on Taylor Rd and Atlanta Highway and they were top notch. Allegra was at the front desk and after I put my phone number in the tablet she did the rest. They called me back in about 15 minutes. Dr. Aldrich and the nurses were 100% the kind of healthcare workers you want to have at a Primed. I will NEVER go back to AFC in East Chase. read more

Never in my life have I ever been spoken to so patronizing by someone who is supposed to help you. I have been dealing with a referral they were supposed to send over three weeks ago. Referring clinic said they never received it. Ask them over a week ago to send it again. Called today to find out exactly when they sent it so I could call the doctor to schedule a much needed appointment. Morgan REFUSED to tell me when the second referral was sent, raised her voice multiple times, avoided my specific question asking what date/time it was sent so new office could find it. Order xray and Covid test. Never gave me a diagnois just said I did not have pneumonia. Never looked in my ears or throat or listen to my chest. Three long hours waiting. Nothing. This is the closest primed near me. I actually like going to the one on Atl Hwy more because the staff is a bit friendlier. Not that this office's staff isn't professional, they're just not personable. Which is understandable when you're dealing with a lot of folks. This is a newer location so it's still pretty pristine inside. They ask patients to wear a mask and social distance in the waiting area. The on site doctors are professional. The wait isn't too long either. Even at the height I f the pandemic the wait usually wasn't over an hour. read more

I visited this AFC late Monday night with a racing heart rate and a high fever. They were super concerned at first but their concern faded quickly. It took well over an hour and a half for them to get me something to knock down my 103 fever. The girl that drew my blood messed up and hurt me so bad I was sobbing for 5 minutes afterwards! Finally I was given a some shots, amoxicillin and a diagnosis of "I don't know. I think it's a bacterial infection. You can go back to work on the 8th or 9th depending on how you're feeling." Wednesday I woke up with a low grade fever which quickly shot back up to 103. I took some Tylenol hoping it would go down, and when it never dropped, I gave them a call and told them I would be there in the hour. The man on the phone was very concerned and said they'd get me in as soon as I got there. Once they got me back into a room they made me go through everything all over again only this time the doctor said she thought it was viral. Same flu and blood tests, results exactly the same as last time. She circled back around to her response of "Bacterial." And told me to continue my antibiotics. Didn't matter that I was light headed, shaking, couldn't catch my breath or stop coughing. She never even suggested X-rays because she told me my chest was clear. Fast forward to Thursday night when I have a fever of 103 again. Finally went to a different clinic where he immediately knew after listening to my chest that I had Pneumonia and that the antibiotics Primed had given me wouldn't be strong enough to knock it out. I gave Primed a call to inform them of my misdiagnoses, so it could be put into my records and there wasn't even an apology. Save yourself the trouble and find another office. read more

One of the worst AFC locations that I have ever visited. The front desk assistant was very rude and had an awful attitude towards me. Not only was that an issue for me, but I have called them about 3 times within the last week. They don't pick up the phone and I think they do it intentionally. I was on hold for 17 minutes the first time. When I went inside for a scheduled appointment, no one was standing in line waiting to be seen. Not only did the appointment take three hours to complete, but afterward they did not even submit a prescription without a reminder call. The office then forgot to submit the antibiotics, so I was told I had to come back in order to get it. The front desk associate was beyond rude, then sarcastically shouted "You're welcome" as I was walking out the door. I am pregnant, and I've been having coughing fits. I was told to go somewhere like AFC by my O.B. office a couple of months ago when I had the flu. Right off the bat the doctor was rude. The doctor told me that I likely have walking pneumonia, but said she doesn't treat pregnant women. That would have been nice to know 2 hours ago before you took my insurance money and left me sitting in the exam room. She told me I need a prescription of antibiotics, but she refused to write one for me. read more

After a 1 hour and 45 min wait to get in the building (with an appointment), the doctor spent less than 60 seconds with us. Dr. Kidd behaved as if we had wasted HER time because my daughter tested negative for covid. I did not make an appointment for covid testing, but that is all they did, no solutions to the symptoms that brought us there. The doctor literally told us to "come back if symptoms worsen" then turned her back and walked out. The nurse who took vitals was extremely rude as well and asked my daughter, "What's wrong with you?" (in an annoyed tone) because she was tearful that someone had just stuck a stick up to her brain! I use AFC in Montgomery all the time, but never again at this location. read more

This place came in handy when my daughter had some sort of bite that was swelling up and we wanted to get it checked out. Only took about an hour to get in and out of there, and although they didn't think her bite was infected, they gave us some meds just in case. We need more of these types of places in the Philly area. read more

I will NEVER go to this place again! I had to leave work early in the middle of my shift AFTER their office had closed, came in the next day and they refused to back date a doctor's note. We asked for a copy of ONE specific policy stating why to present to my job's HR department, and the woman on the phone FROM THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE (Some sort of policy manager woman) was nothing but hostile the entire time. Turned away for having a sore throat which the lady at the front said could be covid and that they wouldn't see me and I would have to come back tomorrow just to get tested for covid. She was not wearing a mask. The next place I could go to been seen is an ER but that's too expensive for me and I feel terrible. I don't know why they can't follow precautions and wear a mask and PPE like the workers in the hospitals wear to protect themselves but the lady at the front must not be too concerned due to her not wearing a mask or maintaining 6 feet from others. I now see why hospital ERs are filled with patients like me due to being turned away from places like this that are meant to see non- emergent sick people unlike the ER who see emergencies. The facility is nice, clean, and new. However, the wait time to be seen by a doctor is a bit longer than what I expected. Once the doctor finally came in, she appeared to be in a rush and acted as if she didn't want to come near me. The doctor only stayed in the room with me for no more than 5 minutes. After she diagnosed me, I had to inquire more about the steps to take to manage the illness. Personally, I appreciate a doctor who not only just gives the diagnosis, but also explains WHY it happened and HOW to treat. I appreciate a doctor who is thorough and explicit. This visit did not meet my expectations. read more

I have issue with the policy for AFC. I went in for a complaint/issue on Tuesday (co-pay) and had labs drawn to figure out what the underlying issue was. I was told the labs will take 3 days to come back in. I was called Wednesday by a staff member asking me how I was feeling--she was pleasant. On Friday I received a call stating my results were in and I needed to come back in and see the doctor but there were no appointments available but I could walk in Saturday for an appointment. I was also told I could come in and pick up a copy of the results to take to my primary care doctor. I went it and was given 4 out of 9 pages of results. (Slick--I feel like the front desk staff thought I was dumb. I didn't say anything, I just left.) I chose to come back in on Sunday and was charged again (another co-pay) to be told my results from the initial visit. I was charged first for the initial visit (cool) and then again to get results from the initial visit (not cool). 1. Am I a priority? If so why didn't the provider or another licensed provider or nurse call me to discuss my results and call in a Rx? I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and most results can be given over the phone with the proper consent and verification of identity. 2. If the provider was not available to see me the same day, why wasn't I important enough to book an appointment on the following day? 3. Why am I paying an additional co-pay to get results when I was just in less than 7 days prior? These are the results from the initial visit. Warning: If you can go to your primary care--then go there. I am not pleased about paying twice. I need some help understanding if this is about money or is this about the patient. At this point, I do not feel like it was about my health--it was about money. read more

This office is engaged in borderline malpractice. I wanted to give the corporate urgent care clinic model a chance, but they failed me. I won't go into the details of my visit, but luckily it was for routine, non-life-threatening reasons. The staff is perfectly friendly, but they seem to have no idea what they are doing. I visited the clinic on New Year's Day and was pleased to receive personal attention from each person that met with me. It is the height of the flu season and my overall stay was a little bit longer than 90 minutes due to the fact that I was waiting for test results and a steroid shot.
