This is a walk-in clinic, so your wait time will vary. I was lucky to walk in with only one patient ahead of me. By the time I completed the (electronic) paperwork, it was my turn to be seen. Dr. Solis is pleasant, efficient, and effective. Very much like what it used to be like to see your family physician. No list of irrelevant questions in search of a test to order. No need to refer you to someone else to do what he can do himself. Evaluated my problem, treated it, sent my prescription to my pharmacy electronically, gave me a paper copy. Follow up instructions. I had a great experience at AFC urgent care about a month ago. I decided to visit urgent care after injuring my knee from hiking. I arrived and I was informed to complete paperwork on their online portal. Once I finished my paperwork, I was immeaditley seen by Nurse Practicioner Elizabeth and she was down to earth and tenative to my medical needs. I ended up spraining my knee and Nurse Elizabeth wrapped a compression cloth around my knee to ease the swelling. Overall good experience and I thank Nurse Elizabeth for her warmth and kindness. read more

Wow. I know visits are up with winter/flu and sick people, but what is the purpose of an appointment? I had an appointment (6PM) and still waited 2+ hours in the waiting area. People were leaving out of frustration so I decided with the reduced list in front of me, I would stick it out. Finally I got called back and waited another HOUR in the room. No sign of staff or a doctor. I ended up leaving before seeing the doc and got a refund on my way out. They need to have more medical staff, plain and simple. One doctor for a waiting room full of patients is inadequate. One "nurse" (or maybe a lower level tech?) who is only taking temps and blood pressure. Avoid. read more

May 3, 2024---I went in with excruciating pain from a sprained ankle. I was told to get there before 5:00, before the radiologist left. I got there at 4:30. I was then told that he wanted to leave early. They asked, "Could I go somewhere else?" I was crying from the pain and asked if he could please stay to take my X-rays. This was on a Friday. He stayed, but was cold and unpleasant while he twisted my injured foot around to take the x-rays. The two girls behind the front desk were not able to figure out how to put my ankle splint on. They both consulted the directions and couldn't figure it out. When Dr. Solis came in, he asked for the directions because he did not know how to put a foot splint on. These three people bent over my foot, twisting it and trying to figure it out, while I cried in pain. When they got me crutches, they were unaware that they can be adjusted for size. When the one girl left to get me another pair (which was ultimately not needed), she stopped to talk to the other lady for ten minutes about the computer system, while I sat in the examining room in extreme pain, still. Then she came back in and I said, "I think you can adjust these." She did not know that crutches were adjustable. Dr. Solis talked to me and walked out of the room while still talking to me. He sat at his computer down the hall and yelled out to me. Very unprofessional. When I asked him if my ankle would be a little bit better the next day, he said, "Absolutely not!!!" When I told him I did not want to take a narcotic and could I have something more mild that would help with the pain, he said, "There is nothing else!" He was cold and unempathetic and did not seem knowledgeable. Later that night, I called my cousin who is a dentist, who told me to take ibuprofen for the swelling and Tylenol for the pain. These are very basic medications and I would think that any physician would know to prescribe this regimen for a new ankle sprain. Dr. Solis did not tell me to take anything. Once I took the meds. that night, my pain went down from a 1000 on the pain scale to about a 15. When I left the AFC, the original paperwork they handed me had errors. It said it was my left foot when it was my right. It said I had no drug allergies and I had told Dr. Solis I had two. They forgot to give me a receipt, so I had to call and ask for that on the ride home. The young lady apologized over and over about everything, but this does not change the horrible experience I had. The entire visit could not have gone worse. It was a comedy of errors with three incompetent people. I am shocked that this place is still in business. I would recommend to avoid this place at all costs. Luckily, there are other urgent cares in the area. read more

Went for a covid PCR test. Two days later, I called for results. Three days later I called for results. They told me the first time they were too busy to check, the second time that the lab was backed up and it would be another day, making this the fourth day. When I still didn't hear from them, I called and insisted they get my results. They called back to say the test was flawed and there were no results. When I asked them why they didn't check before I had to get angry, they had no answer. read more

This is my second time leaving a review. My daughter had two negative tests for strep. The first doctor we saw at urgent care, thought it was strep, and was dubious about the negative results. He started her on amoxicillin. When a second test came back negative, we were instructed to go off the amoxicillin, which she did. We were not able to follow up with her family doctor, who was not able to see her for a week. That is another unfortunate story, which I was shall not share here. She was in sever pain and could not swallow. We went back to urgent care and were seen by Dr. Tepper. Dr. Tepper was very concerned with the size of her lymph nodes. She believed that her strep was severe and she needed to go to the ER to possibly have the infection drained. We told her what hospital we preferred. She called the ER ahead. We were easily able to be seen at the ER. Her call was right. The infection was truly horrible. ENT took care of it. She needed to be on IV, antibiotics and steroid in the hospital, followed up by same at home. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Tepper for her experience and expertise. She knew exactly what she was seeing , and gave us the advice. We needed to keep our daughter safe. I trust her clinical judgment and would recommend her highly. read more

I have spent my entire professional career working the "business" end of health care. Everything from billing clerk to provider rep to project management. Over these many years - more than 20 - I have come to appreciate the difference between practices that are focused on the patient and those that are focused on the money. We decided to take the Young 'Un here to have a minor injury checked. We have a "primary" commercial coverage, and, thanks to the Rev's military service, Tricare. As this is not an area with a lot of military presence, we stick with health systems and larger chains, of which Doctor's Express is one. They generally understand how Tricare coordinates, how to file, etcetera. We have learned, and even have been told by billing offices, not to pay primary copay. Having the balance compels billing systems file the secondary. Also, takes months to get a refund of our overpayment. The location is convenient with decent parking. The waiting room is clean and spacious. They were also insisting on collecting our primary carrier copay even after calling Tricare (I had to provide the number) and confirming coverage and that our deductible was met. Unless Tricare guaranteed 100% that they would reimburse every dime. We were refused care until we paid them what we know we would ultimately never owe. Because they are about the money. I scheduled an appointment for a COVID test for today at 11:15 am. I was seen quickly, but the room I was told to go to was filthy: paper towels on the floor with a dirty footprint on them, dirt on the exam table step, filthy floor. No apologies were made for the dirty room, nor was any attempt made to clean it up. Especially during COVID, I have come to expect places to be doing extra cleaning. A medical facility should be working extra hard to keep all surfaces clean during COVID. The doctor did not introduce himself to me so I don't know who I saw today. His attitude was not one of a caring physician. All of the other employees were great. I have had many good experiences at this urgent care. Today was a huge disappointment. It made me feel unsafe and anxious to leave as soon as possible. read more

I've been here a few times for minor issues. Once you are in the system, there is minimal paperwork. The staff is friendly and efficient. I've never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen by the nurse, and Dr. Silverman generally shows up within 5 minutes of my vitals begin taken. He is thorough, but no-nonsense and has diagnosed me quickly and accurately each time. The scrips for my meds were waiting for me at the Rite Aid in the five minutes it took to leave and drive there. Each time, his suggested remedy nailed my symptoms quickly, I no longer see a reason to visit a hospital ER for day to day ailments. read more

Went here because a bad cold/cough wasn't going away. Thought I should get a COVID test just to be safe. I got a test I thought was for COVID - as I requested - but after a few days of not hearing from them I called to find out where my results were. They told me I had been given a STREP test! This is the second year that I went to AFC Urgent Care in Narberth for my annual PPD and Flu shot. Kristen and Dawn, at the front desk, were very welcoming and pleasant upon entering. AFC always greets you with a smile and a friendly hello! The service is quick and professional and the facility is beautiful. Danielle was the nurse that I saw for the procedure. My family has been here at least 8 occasions with assorted ailments (e.g. strep throat, UTI, excessive ear wax, infection cultures,wound injury, vaccines...) Except for one LPN, the staff including the doctors, consistently excels at diagnosis and treatment course as well as short waiting room time and careful discussions with us about our medical ailment. They also know what are their medical limitations. When a nasty infection culture revealed a particularly virulent and dangerous strain, we were immediately advised to go to the ER for specialized treatment. We had one unpleasant encounter: One LPN wore a mighty strong perfume which precipitated migraines in us. She didn't to understand that, because of her "perfume," (a) we wanted her to physically stay away from us, and (b) we needed to be moved to another room because her 'odor' lingered in the air. Rather than fruitlessly continue to try to explain to her our problem with her, I, ultimately, had to adopt the always effective 'scolding Mommy' tone of voice. We discussed our concerns about her with the doctor; perhaps it's a coincidence, but we never saw her again. (Or, maybe, they hide her when we're there?) Save for Ms. Stinky Perfume, our experiences there have been excellent. BTW, our insurance is processed accurately and quickly. read more

We were really excited to have a reason to give this location a shot-great hours and close to home! Sadly, either the website is wrong or the office is wrong. We called to schedule an annual physical and a general blood test (you don't need an appointment but you can make one). She responded they are "not a lab" and we would need to go to a primary care physician for a physical as AFC addresses "urgent care issues." She wasn't mean or nice about it she just kept repeating those phrases with no additional explanation. So fine, if you step on a nail or cut your finger it seems like this place would be able to assist but otherwise there is a vast disconnect between what the website says they can address and what the office says they will address-which seems like a pretty important discrepancy b/c according to their website they "do physicals" and they "are a lab." Came here on a Saturday morning and the waiting room was empty-- no waiting time really except for me to fill out some paperwork and get my insurance card and driver's license scanned. Firstly, the waiting room was VERY CLEAN (important to me) and modern. I think it's been updated from the picture that's here on Yelp because it looks nothing like that now. (I'll attach a picture to this review that I took that morning to send to my partner.) The ladies at reception were very polite and bright for having to work a Saturday morning! I was seen for new migraines by Dr. Silverman, who did a very thorough and hands-on exam, took the time to listen to me describe all of my symptoms, and took my problem seriously. I chose this office because they have x-ray on site, just in case there was something off in my neck. He did offer to write me a script for imaging if I really wanted it, though he said he did not believe it was necessary, so I took his word and didn't take that any further. He also ran some blood work that I requested as well. As someone in the healthcare field, I've seen my share of physicians, and I was truly impressed. He recommended some lifestyle modifications and prescribed me a medicine for my issues and told me who to follow up with if the problem did not resolve or got any worse. I've had an abysmal experience here with Covid testing. I recognize this is a very challenging time but the disorganization and rudeness I've experienced is outrageous. From start to finish, I have never experienced a more irresponsible or dismissive medical practice. The doctors who did the telemedicine appointment and the actual test were lovely, but the staff that did the registration and (lack of) follow up were horrendous. And the phone is either busy for hours on end or when it does actually go through to a recording, the voice mailbox is full. I called another Urgent Care to ask if this is normal and they were appalled and said absolutely not. Get it together! read more

I had a laundry list of symptoms that I called my family doctor with. she promptly told me she could not fit me into her schedule and urged me to go to an urgent care, which I had never done. At Narberth AFC I was promptly processed and seen by dr. Silverman. an ex-ray was taken, I was accurately diagnosed, meds prescriptions were called into my drugstore and I was out within one hour--for $15 (based on my insurance). What a terrible first experience at this urgent care facility conveniently located within walking distance from my home! Went in to getting physical done. Doctor said he couldn't fill out the form and this was after I had the examination. Doctor was rude to me and did not listen to my concerns and was more concerned about being right. Did not get what I ultimately needed and requested a refund! What makes me most upset is how I was treated. That is not customer service! This definitely needs to be addressed. No one should feel condemned by a physician. I was there for urgent care and I received far from that. All I needed was my forms to be signed and a physical done. That is it! The on-line appointment system is not recognized by the employees at the facility. You can make an appointment, and check the status for delays, but then when you arrive you are put in line behind walk-ins with no appointment. Total fraud. The Doctor, on the other hand was fabulous, clearly the issues are not the fault of the employees, but the result of poor training of support staff, specifically with regard to the on-line system. In response to the company response: I would be happy to discuss this if you want to provide a phone number. You are incorrect though, the employee in Narberth added me to the bottom of the list, even though I arrived ten minutes early, and in line with the text response from your company that I would be seen on time. No one came in to your facility between the last "on time" text and my arrival. I live less than 2 minutes from the facility, if I knew I would have to wait an hour past my scheduled time I would have gone to Bryn Mawr Hospital for the x-ray. I was able to secure a telemedicine appointment easily via the online portal, was tested quickly, and got my results within the timeframe indicated by the medical professionals. I went here for a slice on my finger from a metal Sterno. I was taken in immediately and I thought the care I got was perfect. I needed a few minor stitches and a tetanus shot and was able to receive both here with no issues. The place is clean and the staff was very nice. I would recommend this to others. read more
