She orders bloodwork and tests if necessary to make sure you are taken care of and get to the bottom of your health issues. I know for a fact Dr. Turner has my best interest at heart. Dr. Turner never gives up and will always strive to give the best care. As far as the things people get annoyed with rarely happen. My refills are always taken care of in a timely manner I've never in 10yrs had to call or ask more than once for a refill. I genuinely feel taken care of. Every single specialist he has sent me to has been excellent!!! 7 years ago, I moved 45 minutes away from Newtown - but I still kept Dr. Filips as my primary care doctor!! He is a local guy who set up his medical practice to serve the people of the Newtown area. He knows the community, and his patients well. He always amazes me with his vast wealth of medical knowledge. He not only sizes up my condition quickly, orders the right tests, and diagnoses with empirical and intuitive accuracy, but then can prescribe exactly the right medicine. He seems to have memorized the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference - the doctor's bible.). More than that, he is open to alternative medicine and treatments. When I suffered herniated disks and the orthopedic surgeons recommended surgery, he supported my quest for another way. When I found a Chinese doctor in New York capable of treating me with aggressive massage and acupuncture, which relieved my symptoms for several years now, he was pleased to know such remedies were effective, and promised to consider them with other patients. What more could I want in a doctor? He's my kind of healer.

Which was the reason for the visit to Tower Health Urgent Care in Newtown on the morning of 1/1/23. The front office staff and the MA who brought us back to the exam room were warm and friendly. When the doctor (an older gentleman) came in the room he asked why we were there, I told him that my Mom was in pain from the shingles. He looked at me and again asked "So why are you here?" Sighing loudly- like we were bothersome to him. This man clearly was not in the mood to see patients that morning. Maybe he should have not agreed to see patients on New Years Day. When I asked him if I could give her an OTC nerve pain med, he immediately cut me off and said "I don't write for that" not letting me finish my question. My Mother is an 81 year old Korean woman, she does not speak English well and was in a lot of pain, hunched over and could only nod or shake her head. This doctor's behavior was not all professional nor had an ounce of bed side manner/empathy. After talking for max 4 minutes he gave her a script for Valtrex and left. I am in the medical field, I know that will do nothing since I told him she has been having symptoms for over a week and more importantly, he knew that too. I feel that if I had brought my fiancé with us that day, we would have been treated much differently. Even if the doctor could not help w meds, compassion and bedside manner for patient's illness matter. Patients go to doctors trusting in their guidance and professionalism in the time of not only feeling sick/pain/injury but in the time of feeling helpless. This visit with Dr. Anthony Mangiaracina was a total failure for patient care on all dimensions. I would never recommend anyone going to see this doctor. In fact, I would wholeheartedly advise against it and this facility because the organization clearly does not care who they employ. 0/10 I am not interested in some generic automatic apology response from Tower Health. I think the best medicine for them is writing a negative review of this terrible experience and making sure family and friends and the public stay away from this doctor and facility. They overcharge and do not refund, Dr. Richard Cornish denied me care (removal of 6 stitches) because he wasn't the doctor that initially did my stitches, the wait was 2 1/2 hours because they allowed 2 people that came after me to go in front of me (they couldn't give me a reason why they were seen before me), I requested a refund of the $140 charge they gave me before my appointment for being denied care and they said no because I was technically "evaluated". Just overall a bad business and they're extremely understaffed, the small amount of staffing they do have is not well equipped or professional just to make matters worse
