The staff here was incredible. From the front desk to the doctor. Would highly recommend. They take their time with you, they are thorough. No surprise bills months later since you pay for everything the same day unless your insurance covers (At least that has been my experience). read more

If you're looking for a sign to NOT go to this specific urgent care, this is it. A few months back, Dr. Douglas Borkowski prescribed me throat medication for an "infected" ear piercing. He didn't wash his hands before touching my earring without gloves, was not gentle when handling my ear, laughed in my face when I told him my piercer advised me not to remove infected jewelry until the alleged infection cleared up, and walked out of the room. A couple minutes later his "nurse" was shoving papers in my face telling me to sign them without saying what they were. I was trying to read them to see what i was signing but she repeatedly said "i'll make you a copy after" until i snapped at her to let me read it. the paper stated that i was refusing to listen to the doctors advice and that it wasn't his fault if the medication didn't work or if the alleged infection persisted. HE PRESCRIBED ME THE WRONG MEDICATION so OBVIOUSLY it's not going to work. I googled the medication he prescribed and it was clearly stated that it was used as some sort of throat medicine. i didn't even pick up the prescription. the ENTIRE staff was obviously trying to go home early and as soon as i walked out they shut off the lights and ALL left before their scheduled closing time. THE NEXT DAY i visited my general care doctor AND my piercer, and they both agreed that my piercing was not infected at all, but just swollen from friction. I showed my REAL doctor what Dr. Borkowski prescribed me and she joked that he REALLY must not know what he's doing, which at that point i already knew. Thankfully the swelling naturally went down within the next few days and my piercings are fully healed, no thanks to this urgent care. I complained to the medical board and unfortunately they did not do anything. The entire staff is rude and I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are PLENTY of great urgent cares in the area, but this is not one of them. read more

I had an excellent experience here! I was provided amazing service, by really great people! I was turned away from the urgent care down the street, The Doctors Office Urgent Care, and I am so glad I was! I am an uninsured young adult, transitioning careers and was accepted into an MA program. I needed to get a physical and some vaccines for a medical waiver, and needed it completed and signed by a physician. I had an email from the university as proof that I did not need a primary doctor just a physician, and they did not want to help me. When I tried AFC urgent care up the street I was nervous because I thought the same thing was going to happen, but it didn't! I was welcomed by Mariana, who was warm and sweet. She seemed to have a sense of urgency and was proactive in checking to see if they could help me. Of course I knew I was going to be paying out of pocket, but it was so nice to have her, Ashley, Yosi, Vandana all going through the papers and figuring out what can be done and what cant. Then, they went further, and recommended a blood test so we can see if Im immune to a number of the diseases I would need vaccines for which would save me a lot of money! They are the experts and came up with great ideas to save me money but also to get done everything i needed to get done! Thanks Ashley & Mariana--Took care of my physical, vaccines, and blood test! Dr. Cathleen M. Saros, the lead physician was AMAZING!! So warm and comforting. She showed so much interest in my MA program and my future. I feel so grateful to have been turned away by The Doctors Office Urgent Care, and to stumble upon AFC Urgent Care. I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care, the people there are amazing! They charge for services then tell you they can't provide services because they don't have the meds in stock. If you're anything like me--and I hope you are in this one respect--your idea of a fun Saturday evening does not involve spending 10 hours in the ER just for antibiotics that will take care of something as simple as a UTI. You've already stopped by Whole Foods and chugged as many gallons of unsweetened cranberry juice as is humanly possible--to no avail. Acetaminophen isn't doing much for the fever. The infection has already been hanging around for a few days. If you don't go to the ER, you think you (and soon your kidneys) are doomed for the remainder of the weekend. There is hope yet, however. Find a "doc in a box" and there's a chance you will not be spending the night rocking a johnny. Thanks to a walk-in clinic, you might even be able to make it to your dinner at Oceanos; after all, Mussels Lyonnaise, Sesame Salmon, and Galaktoboureko sound more appetizing than IV saline with a side of vending machine snacks in a hospital waiting room. At 5 PM on a Saturday, I appeared at Doctors Express to see if my infection could be zapped (and my dinner plans rescued). An hour later, I was back in the car, an RX for seven days of Bactrim in hand. (Some other prescriptions are even available right there in the office, sparing you a trip to the pharmacy.) Got it filled at CVS before venturing on to Oceanos, right on time. The doctor and assistant were total pros with my straightforward ailment. They asked the usual questions, performed the usual exam, did the usual lab tests (but nothing extraneous)--and as far as I know the visit was covered by my insurance. A week later, the assistant called to check in and make sure the antibiotic had been effective. If a UTI or similar malady threatens to cause me to miss dinner anytime in the future, I'd definitely pay a repeat visit to a place like Doctors Express if it's a weekend or if I'm out of town. For straightforward ailments that can easily be taken care of at a walk-in clinic (or by ordering "Fish Sulfa Forte" on Amazon, which is what I usually do because it's much less of a hassle, but I happened not to have my stash on hand on this specific occasion), it's much less of a pain in the ass than the ER. This clinic can also deal with migraines, sprained ankles, travel vaccinations, out-of-towners, etc. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for a few years but haven't had the chance. Let's rewind... March 2013. I was an eager bride getting married out of state. I woke up one morning to go to work and something wasn't right. My eye wasn't closing and there was something weird with my face. I got up and went to work- the whole day knowing something was wrong/my face felt paralyzed. I end up leaving work early in search of the closest walk-in clinic. I call before arriving, asking about the wait (if the wait had been too long I would have gone somewhere else). They assure me it is not too long. I already know by this time I have Bell's Palsy, just need a formal diagnosis. I sit in this freaking waiting room for HOURS. I watch people come and go, while I can't close my eye and my eye is producing excessive tears, very uncomfortable. I finally go up and ask the receptionist if it will be much longer after waiting for over two and a half hours. She immediately snaps back at me "you haven't been waiting that long." I kindly reply with the time I had signed in. She tells me to sit down. I do get called back somewhat quickly after that but now almost four years later I still remember her rude tone and lack of compassion. I could write more about this girl but all you really need to know is that she was totally rude and clearly had forgotten about me sitting in the waiting room. To be fair, this rude girl probably doesn't work there anymore but I still would never go back. The Dr was very nice and I feel properly diagnosed me. The icing on the cake was that they lost my MRI results... quality establishment. read more

I admittedly rarely write reviews, but the experience I had at this place definitely needs to be shared. This place has absolutely no respect for people's time. I was there for a routine drug screening that was requested by my new company. I called ahead to determine the best time to come because it's a first come first serve basis, and was told anytime that morning should be a quick in and out process, or 30 min at most should there be a sudden spike in people. I sat there for over 90 minutes waiting, while everyone at this place was clearly sitting around doing nothing. They contradicted their own check in process by taking people ahead of me, who actually arrived after me. At some point i wondered if I was getting "punked" because every receptionist kept telling me it would take 5 more min, each of the 5 times I inquired about the delay. This is clearly a poorly run location and has no time management, so if you are a professional on any kind of schedule stay away from this place!! read more

Came here to get a test done for work. It was decently busy, but I did not have to wait more than 20 minutes. Every staff member was very nice. There is plenty of parking at the location. It is in a strip mall, and while it can get busy, there are always spots. I know this place is an option if I get sick and need an urgent care center. read more

2 years ago, they incorrectly diagnosed me with MRSA. I almost had a heart attack. I was living in fear for over a week, before I was properly diagnosed with a simple cuticle infection by another doctor. Never again will I go here, or even recommend it!! read more

The receptionist was extremely disrespectful. I had ID, but could not find my insurance card. She was not helpful in helping figure out how I could get the appropriate documentation and get help. She first said she did not take my insurance, then said she did and since I did not have a card she could not help me, then after repeated questions - stating she could not call to verify I had insurance when I did - she said I could get a copy to print and bring it back and she would accept that. I called ahead to let the office know the reason for my visit. I needed to get a few pieces of stitches out that seemed to have been missed when I previously had my stitches.After waiting there about an hour, I was called in to see the doctor. The nurse or attendant came in and reviewed my concerns and then went to get the doctor. Although she did not return with the doctor. The "doctor" refused to see me. She did not even want to look at what my issue was. I was sent away with no treatment and a wasted hour. Mayeb this place is good if you have the sniffles and need a quick prescription. read more

Brought my son, the doctor never even came into the room, she just popped her head in said she heard croup (my son wasn't and hadn't been coughing) and couldn't help him and he had to go to the ER and closed the door. Went to the ER in a panic and they checked him out and they were a confused what made them come up with croup because they actually checked his chest out and forced him to cough and heard nothing. He ended up having a virus. So I will not be going back. read more

Do not come here. Not only are they extremely inefficient, but they are also not reliable at all. I waited for two and a half hours just to do a drug test. I sat around with the same people waiting for our names to be called. The receptionist switched halfway through and the new one didn't know what she was doing. She kept calling people and asking colleagues questions regarding procedures. When they finally called my name, I took the test in less than 5 minutes. The person said results would be sent directly to the screening company. Doctors Express then proceeded to lose the sample and never thought to notify me that this happened. I did not know until my employer contacted me saying they had never received my results. And now my start date has been pushed back due to inefficiency, unreliability, lack of accountability for actions, and no communication thanks to Doctors Express. read more

Urgent Care is not a place you want to find yourself on vacation but, that's what happened to me. Clogged ears and a nasty cough upon landing in Newark sent me to Doctors Express. The first doctor I saw (Dr Chadha) on Monday was a bit dismissive and just said "you have a cold, treat it with a decongestant, rest, and if you're not better come back." Hmm. Well, ok. So, two days later when there was no change I went and saw Dr. Benigno who looked in my ears and said, "Well, you're sick - Infected ears!" Dr. Benigno fixed me right up so I was able to enjoy a few days of my week in the NJ/NY area. She also reassured me that I would be ok to fly in a few days and prepared me for flying with fluid in my ears (it hurts btw). The staff was friendly, sympathetic, and knowledgable and were able to bill my out of state insurance company (California) with no problem. The office is easy to find, the hours are flexible, it is a clean, professional doctor's office. I recommend trying to get there when they open if you can because they see plenty of patients and I can understand why the wait would be lengthy. read more

I usually go to The Doctor's Inn in Ramsey but this place opened one hour earlier and I wanted to get a head start on the day. Big mistake. I waited over two hours despite there not being many people in the waiting room. The woman at the front desk was nice and professional but the nurse was clearly not interested nor very skilled. The PA was fine but overall the experience was less than stellar. I went in for something simple that a nurse or PA could have handled in less then one minute but instead spent the morning waiting around. The place was not run efficiently and I will not be going back. They did have plenty of complimentary promotional items. Perhaps the money spent on the promotional items would be better spent on additional help and office training. I would recommend spending the extra 10 minutes driving to Ramsey. read more

I was here to get a PPD read. I walked in at 11 am and went to the receptionist to sign in & she stated I didn't have to. After waiting for 45 min to be seen, I was taken into the room and someone said "can I see your arm?" And stated she would be back in seconds- it's been 15 minutes and I am still waiting for a doctor. All to get a PPD read? I stepped out because I was about to leave and the person who was supposed to be back in a second was texting at the front desk? They have plenty of staff but the service here is slow and clearly very unprofessional. Do not come here if you are in a rush. read more

We used AFC Urgent Care for a travel consult before we leave on our safari trip. We required prescriptions for malaria tablets only. We waited almost an hour to see a doctor. After being told the children also needed two vaccines each, we were left waiting another hour in the consult room for the shots to be administered. In this time the children were incredibly anxious about getting the shots, and when the nurses finally came in to administer the shots- two nurses were required to give two shots on one little boy- my one son was screaming uncontrollably in anticipation of the pain. The nurses asked me to reposition him at this time -I was, at this point, at the end of my rope and asked them to please just give him the shot so we could leave. So a prescription, 4 unnecessary shots, and $550 later. Not a pleasant experience. read more

The worst experience of my life. I had walked in due to the fact i was experiencing awful abdominal pain. A pain that i never experienced before in my life which caused me to sweat profusely and feel extremely light headed. Instead of treating my condition as an emergency, the woman who had greeted me informed me that there was a 45 minute wait. Really? Here i am holding back tears, in pain, yet, the kid who is only taking a drug test gets to go in front of me? Why not offer me a place to lay down? So there i am, sitting there, trying not to pass out, i finally get called in. The girl hands me a pee cup so i go to the restroom. I come back and now i wait. A good 45 minutes goes by, NO DOCTOR. So i take it upon myself to leave the room, and what do i find? All the rooms surrounding mine are empty, and the 3 "nurses" or "medical assistants" are in the front, sitting around. Why is there a 45 minute wait? There's nobody in the building. Where are all these patients? So i get somebody's attention, "hey nobody has seen me yet" and the one girl goes "i'll find the doctor". Oh good, i'm glad you're showing some form of initiative, i wonder if that was your new year's resolution - to not suck at your job. Anyway, before the doctor decided to show up, the "medical assistant" came back to my room and asked me to pee in a cup. I gave her this look like "are you serious?" and said " i already peed in a cup" so she left and then came back to tell me that she had found my pee cup since she didn't look in the cubby hole. ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? At this point, I was hoping to just start bleeding out so i would have been taken more seriously. It was obvious to me now that nobody gave a shit. Finally this woman arrived. I don't even think she was a doctor. She had a brutal accent and had no idea what to do. I told her my symptoms and her responses, yes, RESPONSES, as in plural, more than one possible diagnosis. Would you like to hear them? She said it could possibly be an ectopic pregnancy, or an infection, or maybe an STD, or maybe some gas. She said it could be severe or maybe not. I couldn't believe what was going on. You are making random guesses to my face?? My favorite moment was when this doctor told me it was her first day. First day of what? Being on this planet? I couldn't take her anymore so I kept yessing her to death just so i can leave. I go up to the front where I discover not only am i given 3 prescriptions for only god knows what, my bill was 182 dollars. FOR WHAT EXACTLY? The visit alone was 130 something. Who makes up these prices?!?! Not one person did a thing for me!!!!! I walked into that place at roughly 2:45, and didn't leave until about 5. The only relief i had gotten was the walk i took down to 711 to buy Excedrin Extra Strength and a bottle of water. I eventually made it home and passed out. I still don't know why i'm in pain. i'm hoping it's just a kidney stone or maybe a uti but the whole fatigue and sweating part scared me. Anyway, please don't ever use this facility for any health concerns or needs. you will not be treated with any sincere kindness, you will be forgotten about, and they will gladly and proudly take your money knowing that nothing was actually done to make you feel or be better and send you on your way. You are most definitely better off googling your symptoms, picking the best diagnosis, picking up some Tylenol PM, and hoping for the best. read more

This is a very clean clinic and everyone's very nice. I've been here twice in two weeks and I haven't waited more than 5-7 minutes to see the doctor, no long line here. I did have just a minor disappointment when I needed an ice pack for my knee I had just hurt and they didn't have one that was flexible that could wrap around the top of my knee. Umm, why? that's wierd. You're the doctors. the book sized solid block of ice pack was pointless. But I do love this office, it's modern and clean and you don't need an appointment. They are open until 8pm! read more

Dr. Borkowski is good but yesterday when we went for the second time, Dr Saros took care of me. She was very kind enough to provide me a letter for not been able to come to work. The waiting room was welcoming and the patient rooms were clean. I got a very thorough exam which was refreshing for an urgent care. Nothing about this place is urgent or express. When we arrived, there was one person in the waiting room so we (stupidly) assumed it wouldn't take forever to get an x-Ray. Nearly two hours later and we left with a splint that I could have made in my garage. I didn't give one star because they gave the X-rays on a cd. Other than that - horrendous. Was in pain after car accident in the end of December. I told doctor I had taken safe limit of ibuprofen but it did not help. Tech took 7 chest x-rays because he could not get a clear image. Doctor gave me prescription for ibuprofen and told me to come back in two weeks. It is now May and I still have chest pains when I cough. The last thing I needed to do is go back for more chest x-rays. The machine looked old and certainly did more harm than good. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! If you have all the money in the world, then please go see the fine doctors here. However, if you don't want to spend hours fighting with insurance, then go somewhere else. Every bill I have received from this company is not processed properly through insurance. They submit the claims so that the client is responsible for everything. When pushed, BCBS resubmits the claim. Last time I was here, they charged me the specialist copay rather than the Urgent care copay that my insurance has. It says Urgent Care right in their name! When questioned, the rude receptionist just responded "That's how we process it now." Really??? Just trying to take another $15 out of my pocket. Well I hope it was worth it. I will not be back. Doctor was great but I just don't have the time to deal with people trying to rip me off. If you really cared about my family, you would not be trying to rob me every time I walk through the door. Also, I submitted a review with all of my contact to AFC corporate about my experience. I never heard back. I've had nothing but positive experiences at Doctor's Express Urgent Care. This review is regarding my most recent and 2nd experience. I came to the office because I had seriously jammed my right middle finger in a shower door, which resulted in significant swelling in my finger. After trying to treat my finger on my own through ice and pain killers, I realized that I needed to get my finger nail drained to expedite the healing process and to relieve the uncomfortable pressure in my finger. I came in the late evening and I did not have a long wait. After about 15 minutes, I was seen by a nurse who did the basics and gave me an x-ray before I was seen by Dr. Borkowski. After taking a quick look at my finger and reviewing the x-rays, he quickly put a little hole in my nail to relieve the pressure. All in all, I had a pleasant experience. read more

I love this place! I had a terrible cough and knew I had bronchitis and suspected walking pneumonia. I didn't want to wait for an appointment with my primary care physician because of my work schedule and I wanted to be seen right away. I had already been to another urgent care center up the road, but they didn't accept my insurance, which they didn't tell me until I received a bill a month later and the wait time was far too long. Especially because there weren't that many people in the waiting room. I figured I'd give Doctors Express a try. I walked out of there that day as their biggest fan. I waited around 2 minutes to be taken into the back. Once I was in the back, a medical assistant did the usual stuff (blood pressure etc.). I was brought into a room and waited about another 2 minutes to see Dr. B. He was absolutely wonderful and extremely thorough. He gave me several treatments while I was there and encouraged me to quit smoking and because of what he said, I did!. He didn't rush me so that he could get to the next patient, he took his time with me and explained everything to me. I can honestly say, I will probably never go to my primary care physician again because I've never had a doctor treat me as wonderfully as he did. He was nice too! We talked about our cell phones and made small talk. Not something you get with most doctors. I've recommended him to several of my family and friends who have all had similar experiences as me. Go! It's so quick and easy! and you will probably end up being a fan much like myself. GO TO DOCTORS EXPRESS!!!!! read more

Walked in in need of stitches at 2:30PM on a Sunday. Was met by a friendly and seemingly helpful Jennifer who, when told what I was there for, advised me it'd be about an hour wait and if I wanted I could sign in, go home and she'd call when I was the next in line. We both seemed to agree that waiting in a room full of glassy eyed, coughing people for something like stitches was not optimal. She asked for my license and insurance info, made copies of them and wrote my cell phone number on the sheet. She highlighted in yellow marker all the info on their registration form for me to fill out while I was at home and that was it. All was well. I drove the 5 minute ride home and went about my business. About 3:45, after not receiving a call, I decided to check in to see what the status was. The man who answered, kind of vague on all matters, including where my name stood on the waiting list, told me nonetheless that there were about two people ahead of me and I'd best get in so they could register me in advance. I drove over to find him clueless as to who I was and unable to find the photocopies of my license and insurance info. Then in walked Jennifer who, without the slightest hint of embarrassment or guilt told me she'd shredded my paperwork because, you know, "a lot of people don't come back"... "out of concern for my privacy".... blah, blah , blah. [Never mind the fact that she obviously hadn't even called me before shredding my paperwork]. So photocopies of my license and insurance into were made again. I sat down and waited for those "couple of people" to be taken before I was called. An hour and a quarter and six patients later, with people across from me coughing into the open air, I was still waiting for my name to be called. I overheard one woman frustratingly tell another that, on the other side of the door that I couldn't seem to get through, there were people sitting outside numerous rooms waiting to be called in. Her son, she said, had been in there an hour. All the while, I repeatedly kept hearing Jennifer tell one person after another that there was about an hour-long wait and if they'd let her photocopy their info and give her their telephone number, they could wait in the car or go home and she'd call when they were ready to be called in. Keep in mind now that it was after 5PM and she was telling all who inquired that the clinic closed at 6PM. I decided to walk over and verify exactly where I stood. I asked if I was next and was assured with a straight face that I was. So I waited about 10 minutes more for the moment almost 3 hours in the making, the calling of my name. Finally, the door opened and the nurse called..... the name of the girl who had been sitting across from me for an hour and a half coughing without her hand over her face. Now Jennifer could justifiably shred my paperwork because I'd had enough of the lying and waiting and left. "Doctors Express" - a saying almost as cynically untrue and oxymoronic as the sign outside of Auschwitz: "Arbeit macht frei". Got a day to utterly and totally waste while being lied to in a veritable germ factory, without any guarantee of being seen at the end of the day? Doctors Express is your place. You know, the Emergency Room of a hospital is no great shake but at least you won't be deluded or knowingly misled as to how long you'll be there... and at least they're open all night should you really need care. If you choose to ignore all the warnings about this place, don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting all afternoon at "Doctors Express" and then all night at the Emergency Room. My advice: unless you're there early, save your time and go straight to the emergency room. You're likely going to end up there anyway. At least you'll be much, much higher up on the waiting list come evening time. read more
