Nice modern urgent care at Paramus. I had an appointment and they took me in on time. If there's a delay I would understand too. The secretary helped me check in under 3 mins. I filled out all screening forms and uploaded my ID/insurance before I arrived. It helps me and helps them. The team was wonderful. From MA to the doctor and the Rad Tech were all friendly and professional. They listened to my concerns and treated me accordingly. read more

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing Experience My experience with CityMD has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The lack of communication, consistency, and follow-through is unacceptable. I needed a simple document completed by the appropriate medical provider, and somehow getting it handled became a major issue. I was left having to repeatedly follow up instead of receiving clear communication or assistance. Different staff members seemed to provide different information, which made the entire process even more frustrating. This is exactly the type of poor service and inconsistency that caused me to stop using CityMD in the first place. A medical practice should have systems in place to communicate effectively with patients and ensure that basic requests are handled in a timely and professional manner. If something this simple requires multiple calls, repeated follow-ups, and escalation to management, there is clearly a problem with the level of service being provided. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend CityMD. The customer service and lack of accountability need significant improvement read more

They take your copay and provide no actual care. Just a referral to a specialist in Summit Health. Nothing was treated. Nothing was resolved. No testing for two weeks of ear and throat pain. No suggestions what to do. Just took my copay and tried to pass me off to a scheduling coordinator. I paid 50 bucks for legitimately no solution. read more

I was looking for an urgent care near me that had the least amount of wait time. I found out through City MD's website they had no waitlist for walk-in. We arrived at 10:30pm, 30 minutes before their closing. The staff members at the reception were so friendly and quick to wrap up all the paper work, we were called in within 15 minutes. I was extremely impressed with their service. The nurse took the vitals and pre-assessment of the incident from my family member. Then the doctor came to visit us within next couple of minutes. He was very caring and provided us with all the details necessary to handle the finger cut situation. All the personnels we dealt with, none of them were worries that we were in there 15-20 minutes beyond the closing time of 11pm. The facility looked modern as they opened only about a year ago. There were multiple patient rooms. The lobby area was comfortable and spacious. In front of the facility there are plenty of parking spot. After such wonderful experience, I'll for sure consider this City MD location as my first preference for urgent care. read more

OK, let me set the scene - a beautiful Saturday morning, my son is playing outside on a super tall turf incline. Bouncing around, jumping, sliding, when all of the sudden we hear a "pop!" and my son goes down. Not screaming crying, but saying his leg hurts. We knew it wasn't good. I really didn't want to sit in an ER so I called CityMD Paramus to see if they had an X-Ray tech on site. They did so we rushed on over. We didn't have to sit too long (luckily it wasn't that crowded) and they brought my son in for X-Rays which showed he broke his Tibia. They had to place his leg in a splint. It was certainly not a good time for my son. I was a little bummed that they only had Tylenol to offer him instead of at least Advil, but when we got home I got him some Advil. It was a very traumatic event but CityMD was able to help us solve the problem quickly. My daughter was with us as well and she was absolutely distraught. She was crying outside of the room while my son was getting his leg set. The nurses / PAs / Doctors were all SO very kind to her. They took her to one of their desks and colored pictures with her to distract her. They gave her a piece of candy and were able to calm her down. I am SO grateful for them as I was so focused on my son, I couldn't help my daughter calm down. They were absolute angels. The front desk was also extremely helpful in setting up an appointment with a Pediatric Orthopedist in their Summit Health group. They were able to get me an appointment first thing Monday morning. Thank you CityMD for helping us during this rough time! My son is doing so much better, loving his new blue cast, and zooming around in his wheelchair. read more

I had a hand injury that needed an Xray. Nothing nearby was open so I chose City MD. Greeting: 5/5. Front desk staff was friendly and bc I couldn't use my hand was understanding and helped with the paperwork. Wait: 4/5. The waiting room was virtually empty but for some reason I waited about 20 mins to be seen even though the "Live" tracker said the wait time was less than 5 mins. This was bad bc I ended up looking up reviews of the place and they scared me so much that I considered leaving. Then I decided an Xray is different than a sickness so I stayed. Assistant 5/5: Jacob was kind and friendly. Doctor 5/5: I was relieved the doctor was neither of those who had the horrible reviews. Dr. Deborah Lardner was delightful Xray Tech 5/5: Professional but also personable. Once I was brought back to an exam room, everything went quickly and I was in and out within 1 hour. Overall, I am glad I stuck it out. I hope there is no "next time" but if there is, I will call first to find out which doctor is working before going back. read more

CityMD in Paramus had served me well until my most recent experience with Dr Michael Bayless. I visited CityMD in Paramus for my daughter's suspected broken toe, which Dr. Bayless confirmed with X-rays. He provided a school note restricting gym until podiatry follow-up, but when the school requested reasonable clarifications--such as elevator access and assistance with her backpack--he was unwilling to help beyond adding elevator access. He also refused any further updates or direct communication to resolve the issue. The lack of cooperation and support turned a straightforward medical visit into a frustrating and avoidable ordeal. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience needs to be shared. I visited CityMD in Paramus on a Friday evening with significant ear pain and was seen by Dr. Michael Ray Bayless, MD. The visit felt extremely rushed -- he barely examined my ear, gave no explanation of what was going on, and didn't walk me through how to properly use the prescribed drops or what symptoms to watch for. I left feeling brushed off and confused. Unfortunately, within 24-48 hours, my condition got much worse. The pain intensified, my face swelled, and I developed pain radiating to my jaw and neck. I ended up going to a different urgent care on Sunday, where the provider told me my ear canal was completely swollen shut -- meaning the drops hadn't even been reaching the infection -- and I now needed both oral antibiotics and steroid drops. They actually took the time to examine me thoroughly and explain everything, which I appreciated. This could have been prevented if Dr. Bayless at CityMD Paramus had taken the time to assess me properly and communicate clearly. I understand urgent care is fast-paced, but that shouldn't come at the cost of quality care. He is so rude, disrespectful, unprofessional healthcare worker I have ever met in my entire life. I am on Medicare (advantage plan - UHC) which means a ZERO co-pay. She insisted I show her my "Medicare card that has nothing to do with the insurance plan that pays the bills. DR MICHAEL BAYLESS not only was the most arrogant DR I have ever met, but condescending, rude, did not want to understand my condition and when I suggested he writes me a script for ZPACK (never mind that he wore a mask and stayed 10 feet away from me) - he said to me "IM NOT A MONKEY". I was very impressed with this location. I had to go yesterday due to an injury to my toe. From start to finish I was out in about an hour and that was with taking an X-ray! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have an MD on site; you have the option to request to see the MD or the PA. Impressed with how easy it is to register; no more having to fill out paper documents. It is all by a laptop portal and it scans all your IDs and auto fills for you! Very fast and easy! Note: when I went it was around 9:30-10pm so it wasn't too busy. I was told that around 7:30pm it was really busy and of course getting in and out took a little longer, as expected. Overall, if anything is needed in the future I will definitely be visiting this location again. read more

There is a terrible male doctor or PA that works there, that should NEVER be around patients. His lack of empathy and condescending attitude when I was throwing up was INSANE. He questioned everyone of my symptoms as if I were making them up. It is clear that he does not have any kind of EQ to help him out in this profession that requires a lot of it when dealing with sick patients. I had gone to this facility a number of times, I loved the fact that I could walk in at any time without an appointment...that was until my last visit! Let me also say, this review should have been posted years ago, and reading the other reviews, I was SHOCKED this location had not changed or closed, and decided to let others know how rudely I was treated. I went there because it was close to my home, and no one was around to drive me. I had stepped on glass that broke and a small piece was imbedded in my right foot, when I arrived I was in a lot of pain and went to the counter. She stated she could not check me in manually, however, they had just installed a kiosk to check-in and was for pre-existing clients only. I was directed to go there. Limping over to the kiosk, the instructions was to scan my Drivers License, which I did, and it said no record found. I limped back to the counter, stating it was not working. She asked If I had entered the information properly?? Said "yes" I know how to scan the code on the back of the license. I asked "can't you just check me in manually"? Again,she stated No?? She sent me back to the kiosk to input my info manually. My frustration rising, since, with every step I felt the glass going deeper. Trying once again, it did not recognize the information. Limping back to the counter, I explained the situation again, she asked me for my name and started inputting it manually, and then said the reason why was because I had a suffix, and the kiosk was not yet programmed to recognize it!! I became very upset because, here I am in major pain and bleeding and she refused to help me prior. I questioned why isn't there wasn't a sign indicating that the kiosk doesn't recognize names with a suffix, or why she didn't verbally ask?? I the requested a manager, who then REFUSED to provide medical assistance, and was asked to leave! Upon reaching my home, I called corporate and they said I was banned from coming back to all CityMD's because I was using profanity (which I never did). I'm aware that due to Covid restrictions are in place. Let me walk you through the experience. As you come in, there are 3 employees in the reception area. One on the landline, one looking at her personal phone and one busy in the computer. No one acknowledges that you are waiting. After 5 minutes, the one looking at her phone says can I help you. I tell her I'm here because I fell and I gave a swollen foot and hip pain. She points to a terminal for me to register. The terminals. Three terminals one broken. The terminal does not with you the option to enter why you are there. I sing in and seat to wait for an hour. I get up and ask how much longer. They look at the computer and proceed to tell me that I have been assigned to a room someone will come to get me. Yayyy. 5 minutes later someone does come to get me, and seats me in a room and leaves. 20 minutes later, I come out of the room and ask how much longer the answer us let me see again 2 minutes later the same person who took me to the room cones and apologizes for the wait. Takes my info. I ask her how long for the dr. to see me. She says THE PROVIDER, whatever that means, should be in in 5 minutes. Ok THE PROVIDER comes in says I need x-rays. He orders them. I ask how long he says about and hour to an hour and a half because the tech just left for lunch. Plop 4 HOURS for urgent care. Absolutely crazy and they were not even crowed. I won't be coming back to this CityMD or see PA Lev Paley ever again. His behavior upon entering the room was condescending and rude. Paley started off by pontificating on how he wouldn't send for any tests, or do any X-rays, or give antibiotics. I had to stop him and say that he was making a lot of assumptions without evaluating the patients, understanding their symptoms and exposure, and instead of trying to school me, maybe he should try actually looking at them. I had explained that their sibling had bacterial pneumonia for the past 3 weeks and I was worried about them because I had been diagnosed with the same in the past week and they were showing the same symptoms. He did a very basic, look at the throat exam and started talking about how he wouldn't diagnose anything. Had to ask him how to treat their symptoms since he couldn't even take the time to explain what he examined when they opened their mouths, and finally he said, take some honey! Thank you, genius, we already do that for minor colds. Would have been nice to know that Urgent Care at CityMD had incompetent PAs servicing their patients before wasting our time! Anyway, came home with the kids...their fever has been creeping up despite Tylenol, they have a sore throat with lovely yellow-green mucus, but what do I know? I must just be an ignorant mom who doesn't know when her kids are more sick than a common cold. Be prepared to wait at least 2 hours for a COVID test, and bring a lawn chair. You'll thank yourself later. Everyone must wait on line and outside. Also bring a book, a battery charger for your phone, and maybe some headphones. I watched the Office while waiting and got through a few episodes. They only let around 6 people inside at a time and have you check in at the tablet. You need to be thorough with the staff about what you want. I wanted the rapid test and the antibody test, and made it known right away. The staff was friendly and was quick to meet my needs once inside. The wait for a rapid test? Worth it in my opinion. I came here about a month ago for palpitations and was super dissatisfied. The two stars are for the easy check in process on their tablet and the front desk girls who were helpful and friendly. It all went downhill from there. The doctor I saw was very condescending and proceeded to ask me odd questions such as why I took a nap at 6pm? "...uh.. because I was tired?" Then she asked again because I guess she wasn't satisfied with my answer. Are naps unheard of or something? And what does taking a nap have to do with the reason I'm coming in today? So strange. They ended up calling me an ambulance because the doctor made me think I was really about to drop dead and that it was best I didn't drive to the hospital. Terrible terrible terrible. Went to get a rapid covid test done got there 20 minutes after it opened. Waited out in the cold for 2 hours. When I got in front of the line I was told to write my name and phone number and they will call when they're ready ... didn't even get to register... waited 4 hours in the parking lot decided to go home. 9 hours later I got a call from one of the front desk staff she had a nasty attitude and said they're ready for me to come in. I'm a teacher, and we are required to get a PCR test if there is any suspicion we are sick (even just for cold symptoms). After waiting two and half hours, I was called in where a nurse did a rapid test, but said only a doctor can administer a PCR (huh??) So I waited 30 more minutes. Rapid results came back quickly, but I'm still waiting on the PCR results, six days later. Can't go back to work until the results come in... Talking to the office over the phone did not help, they just kept saying it should be in "today or tomorrow" for 4 days straight. Never going back there. read more

Doesn't make sense because COVID patients should be treated separately because of the exposure. Same list with over 45 patients waiting to be seen for any Medicaid need plus COVID testing. This time I went to the Paramus urgent care for ear pain. I have been there and diagnosed with COVID on three occasions. Although I have a primary care doctor, it is hard to get medical care on weekends when Urgent Care is open. The wait time is always minimal and the staff is friendly and competent. The medical service I have received from either the doctor or the physician assistant has been excellent. I have been going there for almost three years and am always satisfied with everything. My providers today was Lev Paley, PA, Amanda and Tony. They were top notch. read more

It was a Sunday and I was dizzy, nauseous, vomiting & couldn't walk a straight line. It felt like an inner- ear infection. After a long wait, I was greeted by Dr. Weiss & associate. I shared my symptoms of dizziness & nauseousness. The Dr. started examining my ears and monitored my walking. I advised him that I had recovered from the flu a few weeks earlier in-oder to provide a total picture. The minute I said flu, both the Doctor & assistant stepped away & insisted I go to the hospital. This was pre-Corona. The next day, I took myself to an ear specialist and was treated for vertigo. It was obvious that Dr. Weiss did not want to take any responsibility nor get his hands dirty. Is that what a Doctor is supposed to do? This facility was a waste of time, money and wasn't prepared to treat me. I will never go back. read more

Make sure you ask for a copy of the sheet they make you sign. I signed mine and then on my way out I asked for a copy of the sheet I just signed and the lady said she couldn't legally do it. I can see a bill coming in the mail, they said most likely I wouldn't but if I did received a bill in the mail I should forward it to my insurance company. So am I or am I not gonna receive a bill?? The guy at the door was very rude with everybody. Those who asked to get tested here were turned away without being told that they should come make the line the next day at 8. Actually come earlier cause there's a line. The test went fine inside. Make sure to come at 8am so you can write you name on the list. They'll call between 8-12hours to come in 30'. I forgot insurance information at home. I needed care and I was turned away. I even called my insurance carrier on speaker phone and they verified me and my full coverage insurance. The front desk still stated that I needed the actual card even while the insurance carrier was listening. Complete waste of time coming here. Went here for covid test April 2021, they just sent me a bill july 2022 For 300$ said my insurance covered 250$ and i owe them 50$ . Testing was free , the state and federal governments made it that way. My GF who didn't have any insurance got it done for free. Im sure they billed us both to the government now trying to collect more money should of never given them my insurance card. The doctors here are noobs. My 83 yr old mother is visiting from Florida for this Thanksgiving. Unfortunately she thinks she has a UTI. We came to your location for a simple urine culture. My mother who is not computer literate was offered no help registering at the computer Kiosk. After I parked and came in, I had to help her register at the Kiosk. If I wasn't with her, it seems like your staff, who are robotic in their responses wouldn't have offered any help. We were told there is 90 minute wait. Rather than wait in the waiting area we stayed in the car because my Mother is 83 and immune compromised. We came back in 1 hour and we're told she is no longer in the system and again robotically told that she would have to register again and the wait would be another 45 minutes. I explained the situation and said all she needs is a urine culture. I was told we don't need to register again and to have a seat. It's now a half hour later and when I inquired why we are seeing people that came after us go in before us. No one here can tell us why we are still waiting. We have now spent 90 minutes waiting while people who have come after us are being seen. WE ARE BEING EXPOSED TO PEOLE WITH COVID FOR A URINE TEST. I will definitely be reporting this and wherever possible letting people know of the lack of proper protocol to protect people from being unnecessarily being exposed to COVID because there is no way of letting patients know that they should come in from the parking lot when they are ready to be seen. I've been to this location before for myself and my kids and have always had a great experience. 2 different times with broken bones and the other times were general illnesses. I am writing today because 8 days ago I went in with what I thought was allergies & sinus infection. To my surprise it was COVID. Adam the PA was so extremely nice & professional. I was in & out in less than 30 mins too. Three days later I was not feeling any better and I called there and asked if he could call me back when he was free. HE DID! we discussed changing medication regiment and it was really helping. 1 week from diagnosis I was feeling good but could not kick this COVID cough so I called him again and once again he returned my call, ordered a cough suppressant & an inhaler. I have never met such a caring person that genuinely cares about my health & getting me back to work. This facility should commend him on a job well done not just at appt time but taking the time to call a pt back and not insist on an additional visit. I truly appreciated that! Incompetent, unpleasant, and unapologetic receptionist. "We have reached capacity." was all she could say. Understanding they do not take appointments so patients walk-in. However, when asked what we could do to avoid that and get tested, the evening receptionist couldn't give us any answer. Do we walk in morning? Midday? Afternoon? Late afternoon? This is the 2nd time I went there for a Covid rapid test for a medical procedure I was having the next day and they said I tested positive. I had no symptoms and was simply getting it as protocol for having the medical procedure. The 1st time it happened I went to my dr the next day and they said I was negative and it must have been a false positive at the City MD urgent care. This 2nd time i left there and went to another urgent care and guess what...I tested negative!! This could have resulted in me having to cancel a medical procedure I needed for a second time. City MD....fix your machines! And try to make sure when the "Dr" comes in the room he knows what the patient is there for....each time he walked in the room not aware of what I was there for. read more
