As the next of kin for his medical care no one reached out to tell me about what was going going. They refused to take him to the hospital and actually tried to hide his illness from me. Upon arriving at the center I had to demand from the supervisor that he be transferred to the hospital. He was totally dehydrated and in a very bad state with quite possibly a case of pneumonia. My brother would lay in his bed day after day with little or no care or attention. On several occasions I found him with his pampers full of feces and urine. When I asked for help it either came an hour later if it came at all. The workers focused on stocking towels and bedsheets and not on the people who laid in their beds all day long. The supervisor are even less caring and spend most of their time staring at the monitors and barely want to speak with you when you ask a question. Although my brother had suffered a stroke he was alert and cognizant enough to understand that the management and workers at this facility had no intention of making him better and only wanted to hold onto him for as long as possible in order to milk the Medicaid coverage. They were supposed to have provided physical, occupational and speech therapy. My brother was there for four weeks and he did not receive one minute of these services although they probably did bill Medicaid for these services which were never delivered. Stay away from this place if you care about your family or any loved one. I cannot express this strongly enough.

The woman from the home called me at 6:25am said they found my mom unresponsive at 5:55am. No, I'm sorry for your loss or anything. No help in telling me what do I do NOW!! Her Roommate heard her calling for help at 3am and this was not even ADDRESSED only by one nurse that called the roomate a liar...Cardiac arrest. I found that out from the funeral director the next day!! When I got there to see my mom's body around 9am, EVEYONE staff especially were shocked! My mom was doing great. The day nurses and aids were good with her. I was there practically everyday with my mom's only grandchild and she was fine the day before!!! Adam Goldfarb the Dr, her primary that visited her almost every morning called me one week later, to say that he was surprised too!! SO WHAT HAPPENED? NOBODY CHECKED ON HER ALL NIGHT???? understaffed and under paid?? How could my mom not be checked on all night???? this is a picture the day before she died... something happened, someone was not doing what they were supposed to... oh and also I had to insist that my mom's roommate be removed from the room when I got there because I felt it was inappropriate to have this poor paralyzed woman have to see all this. Tess is the he's nurse on the 2nd floor. When I got there questioning who saw my mom last, she was reluctant to go get my mom's chart, she just stared at me clueless. There is a dead patient, you don't have her chart!! I just can't believe I left my mom in the care of these heartless people...that handled her death so poorly. And the worst part is they smile at admissions and hold your hand signing over your life savings, then when it really matters, they stare at u with no ANSWER and no help dealing with the absolute biggest fear losing my mom...

While he seemed knowledgeable, his bedside manner was lacking. There was no compassion there. I didn't feel comfortable discussing another important personal health matter with him because of his demeanor. At the end of the day, I had my physical done and that's what matters but it wasn't the most positive experience. Fast forward to two months later. I made an appointment for 9AM for my follow up. I arrive at 8:55. When I arrive there is one other patient sitting and waiting to be seen. As I sit down, she is called in for Dr. Sims. I wait... wait and wait.... 45 minutes later I ask the nurse if my appointment was for 9 or 9:30. She told me it was 9:00 but there was another doctor there and there were no rooms available for me to be seen. That sounded like a crock of shit to me because the entire 45 minutes I was there, no patients came in or out. At 45 minutes, I walked out. And I felt good doing so. I didn't like him anyway and I don't wait 45 minutes for anyone. My time is just as valuable and as precious as his and if this is how patients are treated, I don't need to go there. I am currently having my records forwarded to another doctor. Additionally I met with Dr. Imbornone (sp?) on one occasion for an upper respiratory infection. Again, a very competent doctor but no bedside manner whatsoever. Very dry, no compassion, very clinical. My infection went away with the meds he gave me but there was no connection there. He didn't even shake my hand. Again, I guess this is how the doctors are there and for some people, that works. For me, I like a little more.

I have always found him to be gracious and understanding. Don't get me wrong. He IS a doctor, so he DOES sometimes go into clinical mode, but....if you ask him to break it down into layman's terms, he will. He IS a doctor, and he is going to tell you not to do all of the fun stuff that you wanna do (What? I can't eat cheeseburgers everyday?) But, if you ask him to deal in reality, he will certainly do so. Sorry that you didn't have a good experience, Jen. I have taken off a star solely for the front desk. Sometimes getting someone to answer the phone is like pulling teeth. Edited to add the following: I remember one time I went in to see Dr. Sims and I was feeling particularly miserable. I must have looked incredibly miserable because he actually gave me a hug. The hug wasn't inappropriate or creepy, it was actually very kind. Kudos, Dr. Sims!

I was preparing to have my Mammogram and Ultrasound done. However, I was informed by my scheduler at Columbia Doctors that I needed my images from my last mammogram (2014) with Hackensack University Medical Center. Today, nothing has changed with the remarkable, caring, positive staffers, that give TLC as their standard. A professional body of heartwarming staff at Hackensack University Medical Center. I called and requested my images. They returned the call the next day, and my images and report were ready. I drove to NJ, got my ticket stamped for free parking from the Breast Cancer Screening Center. Dropped off my images to Columbia Doctors on West 51st Street in the heart of Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall (so cool). At the end of the movie, it was a joyous experience that made me feel truly gratefully happy and cared for by Hackensack University Medical Center and Columbia Doctors/NY Presbyterian Hospital. The great news is that my Mammogram and Ultrasound was negative. AMEN

Unfortunately, no one from the office contacted me to inform me of this change, so I was unexpectedly scheduled with Emaly Matari, PA, for a severe sore throat and persistent cough. My experience with Emaly Matari was extremely disappointing. I felt that my concerns were dismissed, and my symptoms were not thoroughly evaluated. My lungs were not examined, and despite explaining how I felt and requesting treatment, I left the appointment without any medication. Because my condition continued to worsen, I sought care from another physician later that same day, who prescribed azithromycin (Zithromax), although I was not prescribed prednisone. The following day, I located my former nurse practitioner, Michelle DeJesus, NP, at Evergreen Medical Group in River Edge. She took the time to listen carefully, performed a complete evaluation, including a rapid strep test, and prescribed the appropriate medications, including cough medicine. As it turned out, my throat culture was positive for Group C Streptococcus, with significant bacterial growth, confirming that I did indeed have a serious infection requiring treatment. Needless to say, I will not be returning to All Health Medical. I was instructed by Emaly Matari to return in one week for a follow-up evaluation, but after my experience, I chose to receive care elsewhere. So, Emaly, please consider this review my follow-up appointment. If you're looking for a healthcare provider who takes the time to listen, performs a thorough examination, and genuinely cares about her patients, I highly recommend Michelle DeJesus, NP, at Evergreen Medical Group in River Edge. My experience with her has always been professional, compassionate, and thorough, and I am grateful to have found her again!
