It wasn't until after the ceremony that we heard someone comment that Greg of Affairs to Remember was "the godfather of the Seattle DJ scene", and it's easy to see why. Greg's energy matched what we wanted from our wedding: Laid-back lounge during happy hour and dinner, then dancing until closing time. He expertly em-ceed the transitions between our formal entrance, our first dance, speeches, and even had songs ready to go for each "award" that we gave out during our thank-you speech. Affairs to Remember took THE best care of us at our wedding!!! As a bride thinking about wedding costs, I was really skeptical about spending the money on a DJ - we could save the cash and use an iPod, right? Then as we got closer to the date, people started making song requests, we had to decide who would be the emcee, I started worrying that a drunk relative might get hold of a mic and be embarrassing - and it clicked that I NEEDED a professional to handle the details so my guests could be GUESTS and enjoy the night and so I didn't have to worry about the details. I was also spared having to nag my fiancé & family to help build a playlist when we're all crazy busy - Affairs to Remember did it ALL. Greg with Affairs to Remember came and met us at our home, talked us through the ceremony and reception, asked us questions about our preferences, got the list of PLEASE do NOT play songs/artists, and made suggestions on how to make the night flow smoothly. Greg knows music genres and eras, movie soundtracks and theme songs INCREDIBLY well. He made poignant suggestions for songs and instrumentals for times when we hadn't even thought about music. One example - we told him we're golfers and some of our friends would be holding up golf clubs for us to walk under as we would enter the reception (a take on the saber arch from military weddings) - Greg suggested we use the music from The Masters telecasts & together we came up with something "golf broadcast-esque" for him to say as he introduced us as Mr. & Mrs. for the first time. Hiring Greg Lowder (Affairs to Remember) is one of the best event-related decisions we made for our wedding. Affairs to Remember was referred to us by our wedding planner, as one of several deejay / emcee "options" to interview. After reviewing each vendor's respective website, we elected to meet Greg, and, after that first meeting, we never looked back. We appreciated how Greg framed the DJ / MC decision as one that would set the tone for the wedding reception. He did so in a straight-forward way that helped us understand this instrumental role of the vendor, representing himself and his services well without coming across as a used car salesman. He was incredibly prepared for each of our subsequent meetings, of which there were two or three. My wife and I appreciated that Greg wanted to know what kind of music we like, what we wanted to hear during different parts of the reception, and also how we wanted the atmosphere to feel. Greg worked woth us to build a musical repitoire that everyone, regardless of musical preference or will to dance, could enjoy. He is dedicated to his craft, staying current on the business and musical aspects. On his feet, Greg did a great job of engaging guests in fun activities and reading the crowd. Great did a great job you did at our wedding!! It was just the style and energy we were looking for and our guests really did enjoy and have fun! The ceremony went off perfectly and I thought everything flowed so smoothly. I noticed the bassa nova during dinner and all the other touches or "must hear" artists that we discussed. Greg Lowder (Affairs to Remember) was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He was timely and our guests were particularly impressed with how Greg kept the party flowing. Everyone had a great time, and Greg was able to keep the dance floor filled all the way until the end of the reception. Guests also remarked how Greg kept the volume at the right temperature throughout the event so that those guests closest to the speakers could easily talk to others. We had a Jewish wedding and Greg played a great version of the Hora. Greg was also instrumental in helping us pull off several fun events, such as a teddy bear toss for the children and some fun jokes we played with the bouquet and garter toss. He did a masterful job of moving us through all the events of the night to keep us close to the timing schedule we put together, and he did this without making us feel rushed. One thing that really impressed us about Greg was that he went above and beyond in helping take down some tables when the venue was being converted to have a bigger dance floor. This type of work was not in the job contract with Greg but with his help, we were able to transition from eating dinner to the rest of the activities more quickly. We will always be appreciative for the awesome job Greg did in helping to make our wedding day one of the most fun days of our lives and we would highly recommend Greg! read more

Greg was the DJ and MC for my wedding this past Sunday, 6/5/16. As part of the package he offers for wedding DJ services, he met my (now) wife and I, learned what we are like as individuals and as a couple, and tailored the music and the atmosphere to suit us perfectly. He was amazing! I've been to weddings where the DJ is much more interested in being "Deeeee-jaaaay-whoever!" than on supporting the couple being married; Greg is the polar opposite. If I could give him 10/5 stars I would in a heartbeat. In hindsight, Greg offers a much more comprehensive package than what my wife and I needed; we definitely underutilized him compared to what he's capable of and what he prepares for, but he took it in stride and gave us the wedding reception we imagined. We honestly did not realize how much of a huge positive impact a great DJ/MC could have until we worked with Greg for our wedding. He took care of many of the details of announcing, timing and of course, was a great DJ. Greg Lowder was a fantastic guy to work with! We met with Greg a couple of times before the wedding and always had a great time. On the day Greg was great at moving things along smoothly so that everyone always knew what was going on. The music Greg played was exactly what we were looking for - from the wedding ceremony songs to the music which everyone was dancing too it was all brilliant! When I say everyone, I mean everyone, at some points all of our guests were up on the dance floor. Greg kept the song genres mixed enough to keep a few people dancing at all times which made for a great night. Some of our guests were Russian and Greg was able to play a couple of their native songs also which were definitely a hit!
