Constantly hounded by phone to make appointments -despite requesting for these calls to stop. Staff CONSTANTLY PUSH to have X-rays even though I have stated REPEATEDLY that I do not want to discuss X rays unless a concern or pain is present. They DON'T respect this. Once they did 3 different types of X-rays when my older minor child went alone to her appointment. They told her they were necessary, she believed them, trusted them. Once they did an X-ray on my other minor child without my consent- I was sitting in the waiting room. Tonight was the final straw- the staff member that called me said X-rays would be done at my upcoming appointment for the hygienist to do her job! That's a new one! They don't respect their patient's wishes. It's all about the money. Last week I showed up for my appointment and I hadn't even stepped into the room and the hygienist said ok we need to do 2 sets of X-rays! I ended up not having any treatment as they claimed I did not have any insurance. Called my provider and of course I did. It was something wrong on their end. My time was wasted because of their incompetence. They did not even apologize. It's all about money! Take your business elsewhere!

For the last 12 years this office has been over charging me. This appears to have been common practice among most dentists in Alberta. During the last provincial election the NDP party promised to do something about this. Now effective in 2018 the Alberta Dental Association has a suggested dental fee guide. This year for the first time ever the bill I received from Sherwood Dental matched my insurance coverage to the penny.

A couple of weeks ago, however, they decided out of nowhere to start charging me for 30% of my appointments (out of the blue, Laura the receptionist demanded i pay). She said it was mandatory and they had always done this- which was untrue. So after i paid- much more than i have ever had to pay- i got my insurance statement from my provider, stating that our visits had been 100% covered and a previous one had under around $30 owing on it. When i called to inform them they owed me money, Laura- again- was very rude to me and let me know that i will have to come in and get the money back WHEN the insurance money is in their account, regardless of what my insurance providers showed me. Also, that getting a cheque sent out to me wouldn't happen, i have to come to them. I am very much done with this office- no one needs to be treated that way, Laura was extremely unfair and rude to me demanding i pay- i was in no position to pay out that kind of money and she completely put me on the spot AFTER my kids appointments. Park Dental lost our service.

The front desk lady was very kind and got me in first thing in the morning. Dr. Holtzman and his assistant were amazing and very fairly priced for the procedure. They had no problems filling out my out- of-country insurance paperwork so that I could submit it myself. The entire office was great and most of all, I wasn't in pain and could eat! :) I will definitely be switching my entire family over to Park Dental!

We were left paying out of pocket & my daughter has been suffering for months!! I never write bad reviews but when putting you or your childrens health in what should be trusted Dr's hands, awareness is important!! What should have been simple fillings, has literally turned into a nightmare - a painful, expensive experience, that has left literal bad tastes in 3 of my family members mouths! All of our benefits were 'used up' by these dentists & we are now paying out of pocket for 2nd opinions & redo's of fillings & a possible root canal! Please do your homework & don't be fooled by their sweet talking front staff .... BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT - we only get one set of teeth & I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone!!

However, when she left and moved out of province I protested in the only completely unreasonable way I could - I pretty much didn't go to the dentist for about 6 years. Once I started going again I started seeing Dr. Kuras - honestly, while she's super nice I've never been thrilled with my dental work. I have a couple cavities that I'm not totally happy with. If you get a good hygienist you're golden - but theres a couple I would like to avoid like the plague. The only reason I still go here is because switching dentists seems like a ton of work.

Several years ago, while undergoing Invisalign adjustments, I recall the dentist making the comment, "I don't think you will ever be happy," which I found unprofessional and unnecessary. More recently, I attended a routine cleaning and scaling appointment. During the visit, the hygienist asked if I had any concerns, and I mentioned that I had recently had work done on a tooth by another dentist. She indicated she would have the dentist take a quick look. The dentist briefly checked the tooth and provided his opinion. At no point was I advised that this would result in an additional charge. However, when I went to pay, I was billed for an "Emergency Exam." When I questioned this, I was told, "I will let the girl know she should be advising you if there was to be a cost." I explained that I did not request or require an emergency exam and should not be charged for it. The response I received was, "Ok, but we will be flagging your file." This response was unprofessional and concerning. I indicated that due to this experience and the level of customer service, I would no longer be returning as a patient. The response I received was simply, "Ok, we will close your account." Overall, this was a very disappointing experience after many years as a patient. Charging patients for services without clear consent or communication is not acceptable, and the handling of the situation lacked professionalism. I am sharing this so others are aware and can make informed decisions. Do better, Aspen Trails.

A little nervous and a tiny bit scared but upstairs I went. The receptionist was very welcoming as was the atmosphere. Once I got in the chair Dr. Fisher and his helper Kennedy were amazing. This time I'm only here for a consult thankfully, Next time it'll be the full work up. But both were very good at explaining what's going to happen, And what to expect. Back up front receptionist was great at ensuring the forms were sent to my insurance (they don't direct bill) and explaining how much everything would cost when I'm back. If you are in the unfortunate position of needing an implant or dental surgery I would recommend Dr. Fisher.

I had a gum graft about 7 or 8 years ago and last year my dentist told me it was getting worse and recommended another graft in the same location. She referred me to Dr. Fisher. He had just moved to his new location on Gateway Boulevard (previously on Whyte Avenue) so everything was new, swanky and top of the line. My first visit was the consultation. Dr. Fisher met with me and let me know what would need to be done, how the procedure would go and what I could expect post surgery. He explained to me that he wouldn't do the procedure that was previously done on my gums, but his technique would hold up longer, and that he would insert synthetic bone. He was very professional yet easy to talk to. As a periodontist, he seems genuinely interested in helping people. They sent off the estimate to my benefits provider. It seems like there was a mixup because I never got my coverage back. One call to Dr. Fisher's office and they were able to correct the situation right away. After receiving the estimate and getting good news that much of it would be covered (though I would have done it anyway), I booked the surgery with Dr. Fisher. The day of the surgery, Dr. Fisher again was very professional, explaining everything that he was doing. It was quicker than I expected and the surgery was pretty much painless. I saw Dr. Fisher a couple more times for follow-up appointments and had no issues. The last time I saw my dentist, she commented how great a job it was. I'm hoping it will last longer than the last graft, but I can definitely feel and see the difference in my mouth. In fact, after seeing Dr. Fisher, it looks like I've never had gum problems at all, where my first graft looked like it was a patch job. If you're in need of a periodontist, I would recommend Dr. Fisher. I never checked other periodontists but he probably does cost more. However, when it comes to your oral health, it's worth it.
