I came by affinity urgent care with intense pain in my leg that was making it too painful to walk. When I arrived, the front desk worker was friendly and quick to get me checked in for care. A nurse came by to get me with a wheelchair, checked my vitals, and took all the necessary x-rays. The doctor, Paul Reilly, seemed experienced and gave me good advice for rest and care. BEWARE, AVOID they FAILED to render care and empathy at the time of a bleedin emergency. We walked in last night with 5 minutes until closing. My contractor had almost sliced his finger off. Jessica told us about their busy day and let us know they were no longer taking walk- ins for the night. She offered to schedule the guy an appointment for the next morning. The Provider Stephanie signed the Fast Pass paper so we can drive 6 more miles to the nearest ER that accepted his insurance. I mentioned a Stop the Bleed kit or assistant since he was bleeding on counter. The provider never came from the back to assess, render aid nor communicate with us at all. She just kept walking from left to right wall in the back. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STOP if you are HAVING AN EMERGENCY. They never looked at the deep cut so no help was given to stop the bleeding. 1 star for making sure the ER referred accepted his insurance. 0 stars for the patient care, empathy, customer service and beyond. read more

September 22, 2021 Had to come here for weight management consultation because Galveston's location EKG machine broke! Yeah! Appointment at 5, got here at 4:55 Waited 25 minutes to go back Completed all testing/blood work here that's required (took 10 minutes) Waited for doctor for 45 minutes. They forgot to do blood work waited another 10 minutes. Didn't leave until 6:50p ...almost TWO hours. Nothing "urgent" here. Boo! Will maintain services in Galveston. read more

Worst urgent care I've ever been to. I waited almost 2 hours, there was no seating due to the lack of chairs inside so we waited out in our truck for them to text us they are ready for us. Meanwhile, my husband is bleeding from his ears, at this point when he stands he's getting a little dizzy so I helped him inside and they texted us that they were ready. Helping him inside, this small nurse with a big attitude says "who's the patient?" So I told her my husband was, and she told me "can he not speak for himself? Why are you here? You cannot come back here" So honey, if you're reading this, I hope your loved ones never need you bc you're too incompetent to care. And I hope you never have anyone by your side when you are hurt. I had previously left a great review for this facility, they had earned it in the form of good service as well as sending a gift card. I have visited this facility for services well over a dozen times since 2020. Tally up the amount they've billed my insurance for all those visits, the amount they've billed my husbands insurance for the times I sent him there and all the friends, acquaintances and clients/ customers that I've also referred, they've had a great stream of income from myself and my word of mouth. No longer will I recommend this place, in fact I will make sure to tell people to avoid it due to the unscrupulous actions of Megan Jefferson, who strongly represents the lack of morals of Affinity Urgent Care. My final visit to AUC was on July 10th. I had met my out of pocket max in 2021 and again in January 2022 following the birth of my twins. I do not pay copays since I have met my out of pocket max with my insurance plan. For some reason AUC's system does not reflect this but I always let them know and they either call my insurance or allow it to go through billing without forcing me to pay a copay. I went to this urgent care for help, I was feeling terrible and I needed to be seen. And instead I was met with a condescending, power tripping Megan Jefferson who refused to allow me to be seen unless I paid a copay that I am not obligated to pay. I went as far as showing her my BCBS claims in the app on my phone. Showing I've met my out of pocket max, all my claims showing that they all say "I will owe $0" including the multiple visits to this specific facility stating the same. Her response was "that doesn't prove anything." She was callous, heartless and far from empathetic to someone who was there needing medical attention. This is not someone that should be working in this position. Upon looking in further, she has been there for a long time. I just never encountered her and I'm sure if she had more communication with patients, there would be many more reviews mentioning how God awful she is. She did nothing to even remotely try and help the situation. She stated "maybe they waived the fee all the other times." Obviously they did not, if I'm showing you that my insurance says I will owe $0 and she would be able to see that in the system if that was the case. Maybe she profiled me? I don't know, but she turned a place I always chose and rated a 5* to a place I will not return to and made it a 1* simply because of her role. Now, I did storm out upset, I lost my cool but in my defense I was feeling terrible and came here for help only to be turned away because she wanted to extract more money out of me when they've made plenty already and I was not obligated to make any further payments. This was so out of sorts, Megan would benefit greatly from some training and humbling. She does not know how to deal with people at all. I am so so disappointed that someone like this tarnished so badly a practice that I had respected and liked. Just an awful person. read more

I was charged $95 per child for a wellness check. Then they called me back and said they were supposed to charge me an additional $50 each per child. That makes the total $145 per child. My two girls had the flu and had a flu test the total is $290. I could've taken them to my doctor and $100 each. Do not go here if you think you're going to save money and that's the reason why you're going to an urgent care. I had to do self-pay, but they do have insurance but I was unable to get it from their father in time because he could not get to their phone so I will be contacting the insurance company to have them contacted and get reimbursed and I'm pretty sure they're going to say that those charges are outrageous too. read more

I just moved to the area and this was the closest urgent care to my house. It's pretty conveniently located. Scheduled my appointment online through their website. I loved this option because it lets you know how many patients are ahead of you, as well as choose from a list of available times. They send you a text reminder 30 minutes before your appointment. I was a bit concerned when I first walked in because the waiting room was not clean at all. Aside from what looked like renovations, the chairs, floors, countertop and windows were pretty filthy. Not the environment you want at a doctors office whether you're ill or not. The patient rooms were just as dirty. Staff and the doctor especially were very friendly. I was in and out in just under an hour with prescriptions and work note in hand. My biggest complaint was the lack of cleanliness. read more

Got COVID test on Saturday noon and was told I'd be told result but phone later that day. Called later before 6 pm closing and no one answers the phone and no answering service or way to leave a message. Called again Sunday during during open hours. Phone rang over 20 times before an auto answer came on to leave a message which I did requested a call back. Got nothing. Already another 48 hours have passed with no callback results. WTH read more

My 3yr old had a big kid roll on his ankle/foot. They did an xray on one of his foot. They said nothing was wrong and to ice it for 2-3 days then apply heat. My son doesnt like ice on him even when he bumped his head. She said to " do what feel good". To make a long story short. It happened on 11.11.17 and he still can't walk and his ankle it black,red,and purple. Its now 11.18.17 we took him to utmb after hours at victory lakes and his ankle is fractured. They found that out because they are supposed to xray both ankles to compare the bone structures against each other. One would "assume" some one there would know that when it comes to prognosis from radiography. Ohh yeah the lady nurse or what ever she was supposed to be didn't recommend wrapping it with ace bandage or any if the sort. Don't waste your time at this place. Take your chance at mainland. Short wait time. Wonderful staff got me fixed up and on my way quick. Took X-rays got my broken toe set and in a boot within an hour.

My sister had to come and get a follow up for an injury, and the minute that we walked in... the receptionist (don't know her name, plus sized, reddish brown long hair) was really RUDE. Her attitude was completely dry and unbothered the entire time. I thought she was just doing this to us, but I say in the lobby and she was like that with every single person that walked in.... Almost like she was annoyed with being there. The medical staff was really nice, but if the first thing people deal with when they first walk through the door is that receptionist , I feel sorry for them. read more

Do not recommend going here. I would give it 0 stars if I had a choice. Went in for sinus issues. The staff was great. Got a strep test which came back negative (awesome) and then the "nurse practitioner" came in. Didn't even listen to my lungs or anything. Said she's treating me for strep even though my test was negative. Didn't talk about any other symptoms or problems I was there for. Told me I could continue taking Tylenol until the antibiotics started making me feel better after I told her Tylenol wasn't working anymore which was why I was there.
