Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in League City - Bill for a routine ultrasound

They bill your insurance as though they are a hospital (when they're not) because they're under the…read moreMemorial Hermann umbrella. My bill was outrageously expensive and I got a follow up unexpected bill. I'm going through a miscarriage. I came in for an ultrasound because UT Physicians downtown was booked for the week and they recommended a Memorial Hermann location because they share data/ patient information. This was the closest to me. My out of pocket for the ultrasound at UT Physicians was $50. Here it was $360. Apparently they bill like a hospital but still advertise like a convenient care center. Shady and predatory but unfortunately that's where the medical system is today. No one could explain why/ no one offered payment plans or financial assistance to someone clearly in distress about a $300 bill. Lots of staff laughing and joking behind the desk. I was so frustrated I laid into the front desk staff and a manager before realizing neither of them have any control about how the company bills patients. (Sorry, guys, rough day.) My mom convinced me to go back in because I really did need imaging. Made the decision to never come back after I got my ultrasound. On the way back to the room, though the ultrasound tech said something along the lines of "missed abortion, or what?" Ugh. She was just getting history I guess, but it was loudly in an area where other patients were. Also, when I told her I was in pain she said she had to push hard to get the right angles. Didn't feel reassured or taken care of. Sad because until this facility everyone I'd been to was really nice and professional. The icing on the cake was when I got another bill from some random radiology company for the *interpretation* of my ultrasound. That was another $133. Over $500 for a procedure that would have been $50 somewhere else AND I had a sh***y experience. Already took the survey they sent me so maybe they'll actually do something about it. Don't recommend either way.

She was very professional gave me good breathing instructions, helped me with placement, and made it go by fast! Christine was awesome with my ultrasound, she was friendly and professional and helped me feel at ease about the whole situation. Would definitely come back if ever needed, and would def recommend anyone in my situation to come here.

As an RN, I know that medical professionals are selective for any treatment that we seek. We are…read moreaware that there are both good & bad medical professionals, therefore we carefully evaluate & ask other professionals who they would recommend. Any good medical professional is going to ensure that they are recommending a colleague who will provide the best possible care. Once we have been treated by an excellent provider, we feel exceptionally comfortable in referring them to others. Dr. Vige is highly respected within the medical community & he continues to be the Chiropractor that many recommend without hesitation. I have referred many individuals to him & I will absolutely say that he is worth the drive to Dickinson, TX. Having said that, I have been a patient of Dr. Vige since 2010. After being referred by colleagues, I became a patient of Dr. Vige & that was one of the best decisions I have made. Shortly after becoming his patient, I hurt my lower back. Due to the pain I went to Dr. Vige & he recommended that I get an MRI. Upon receiving the results, Dr. Vige reviewed them with me, explained that I most-likely needed spinal surgery & referred me to an excellent Neurosurgeon. On my first appointment, I was told that I needed surgery & I was having lower back surgery only ten day later. As many of you know, this is not a typical response from a Chiropractor. There is absolutely NO other Chiropractor I have ever encountered that would immediately say, this needs to be evaluated & repaired by a Neurosurgeon. This is the type of care you can expect from Dr. Vige. He truly cares for his patients. He not only has impressive knowledge, a wide range of skills & treatment options but he also has no qualms in stating that a situation needs more than chiropractic care, which is one of the many qualities that makes him such a remarkable person & Chiropractor. Not only did he care for me & assist in a proper diagnosis but he was also a critical part of my post-operative care team. In 2018, Dr. Vige was a critical part of my care team when I returned from CA. Due to a medical error, being wheelchair bound, permanent disabled & needing two total hip replacements at the age of 43 he immediately started to care for me. He was able help reduce my pain & once again, was a critical part of my pre/post surgical care team. I truly don't know what I would have done without his remarkable care. Even though I am still disabled, I am able to walk again. Because of Dr. Vige's care, any time I feel pain, I immediately make appointments with him. Additionally, he provides excellent care for my family & friends. In February, I started having neck, left shoulder & arm pain. Dr. Vige was the first person I called & we immediately started treatment. He was concerned enough that he ordered MRI's but before I could get the MRI's, the pain suddenly intensified to a 10/10, so I went to a local ER. The MD "evaluated" me a said that I had pulled a muscle. The ER doctor, provided me an IV dose of steroids, to decrease swelling & only due to insisting, the MD ordered a CT, then repeated that it was a pulled muscle, prescribed a muscle relaxer, told me to rest & that my pulled muscle would heal. The pain decreased, so I thought maybe the ER MD was right & so I canceled my MRI's... I should have listened to Dr. Vige. The pain returned with a vengeance in late March. Due to the ER diagnosis, plus with the COVID-19 virus, I was hesitant about seeking medical care, even with significant pain. In April my husband called Dr. Vige & was grateful that he was treating patients. After a few treatments, Dr. Vige once again said that I needed an MRI, so this time I listened to him & I got the MRI. When the results were in, Dr. Vige reviewed the MRI imaging & was concerned enough that he wanted me evaluated by a Neurosurgeon & a Pain Management MD. I immediately made an appointment with my former Neurosurgeon but due to COVID-19, I could only see his PA. My husband & I left the appointment feeling disappointed & frustrated. COVID-19 also prevented getting a pain doctor appointment. I then went back to Dr. Vige for treatment & explained what happened, he then referred me to a different Neurosurgeon & a Pain Management Specialist in the Medical Center. As of yesterday, I am scheduled for a cervical spinal surgery. Once again, Dr. Vige was able to assess my situation, review the MRI's, CT's & know that I needed a Neurosurgeon & a possible surgery. As always, he will be a key part of my post-operative care team. Even with all that I have been through, I know that I am safe in in Dr. Vige's care.

She referred me to him after I'd received what I knew was improper care from my, then, current chiropractor. I've seen chiropractors for almost 40 years and have had good & bad experiences. Dr Vige treated me for several months and got me back to work. His work is beyond anything I've had elsewhere. He uses different techniques & types of therapy I had not experienced before. All have been amazingly beneficial. I had both a knee and neck injury at work also (retired firefighter). I saw MDs, neurosurgeons, & therapists because I felt chiropractic care was not the proper route. After months of recommended "treatment" with no results I asked Max to see what chiropractic would do for me. In a couple of treatments the constant pain was mostly gone and is still improving. Regardless of your age or your type of pain, Dr Max is a good first step. He can fix it or will refer you to someone who can.
