I was a walk-in patient to the Gemini Urgent care. There was very little wait time. I had a serious injury to my head that had been taken care of by Clear Lake regional emergency. I was concerned because I saw blood on my pillow after a week. I went to the Urgent care to have them look at it, and they cleaned it up and sent me home. I went back the next day at their request to ensure that everything was fine. They were able to remove the staples from my head and gave me antibiotics. The staff was incredibly kind and very professional. I had handled this experience of cracking my head open pretty well until today. Realizing just how serious it was, I was on the verge of tears most of the time. The staff held my hand and explained that I had every right to be that nervous. It was a traumatic experience and I've come through it well. I want to thank the staff at Gemini Urgent care Kenzie, Jackie, and the nurse practitioner Laura Gordon. They all treated me with extreme kindness. I recommend this Urgent care to anyone in the Clear Lake area that needs medical attention read more

My Husband brought me to this facility today after I was rear ended while at a stop light and my neck was hurting. We were extremely pleased with not having to wait to be seen as is the experience at the hospital. I only take a star away as the woman behind the counter that somewhat greeted us was very sarcastic when asked if they treat whiplash. She answered "well yes we are an emergency clinic so we do everything that the emergency room does". I felt the tone was unnecessary but I'm sure she does deal with some dumb questions. She was much nicer while doing my X-rays. We filled out paper work, provided id and insurance card to be copied and were quickly called back by the nurse that assessed me and briefly waited for the doctor. The doctor is very polite and thorough. He did several X-rays and spoke with me at length about my symptoms and level of pain. I was given information on concussion after my exam and a prescription. I would feel very comfortable returning to this clinic in the future. read more

Be aware- your COVID test may NOT be free. Medical care here is fine. However, my family and I had Covid tests completed at this location. Before I waited to receive the test, I double checked and asked if it was free as the answering tree message even states "free Covid testing ...without out of pocket pay," and I was told this was free to my face as well. The woman at the front desk told me "no" when I asked if I had to pay anything. I was careful to check and remembered this conversation because we just had a newborn and were not in a place to pay for this test. Fast forward...We got several bills in the mail saying we needed to pay hundreds of dollars. I recently received a call from Gemini asking to collect the fund for the test that was supposed to be free. She then stated frustratedly, "it's not free.nothing we do is free here. I was at the office that day at the front desk and I didn't say that it was free." She also was rude and stated," I'm sorry YOU misunderstood this," and did not appreciate the feedback we gave her to be more forthcoming or clear with patients and expectations. She told us that they HAVE to say that the tests are free, legally. All she had to say was "thank you for your feedback. I understand how that could be confusing and we'll try to be more clear moving ahead," or, "Let's call your insurance company and have a 3 way call and figure this out together when we have some time" as we had already done in the past by the way. Although I understand I will have to deal with this elsewhere, my issue is that she (probably the office manager) was rude and unkind and blamed us for misunderstanding instead of taking feedback with understanding and care. To be honest, this is an example of pretty terrible customer service skills. I'm thoroughly disappointed with how they handle sensitive matters. It really made figuring out this issue much worse than it had to be. read more

The message on the phone advertisement says no copay with insurance however today I was charged $100 copay. I was told there is a sign on the counter that states they no longer waive copays. They are not honest. Although the copay for an urgent care visit was on my insurance card, they lied and charged me more, stating that the "website" they use showed a different copay amount. I then called my insurance company and BCBS confirmed I should only pay what's printed on my insurance card. The office manager then stated to me that she would refund me the overage they charged. The office manager's excuse was that people give them outdated cards, so that's why they over charge people, smh. The date on my insurance card was up to date so they were being untruthful and taking peoples money. I would not recommend them. read more

I've been here a few times. First, this place has all the amenities as a hospital ER and al, service are provided here. You don't get bounced between doctors and they are much quicker. You won't get better care-I bring my kids here when they need emergency care too. FYI, this place is different than an urgent care, it's a full blown emergency room. read more

The lady at the front desk was soo unfriendly and rude. She had an attitude as soon as I walked in. She told me based on my few words of basic symptoms explained that ugh this isn't an emergency room. I explained it wasn't an emergency bc I get these symptoms every year. Then she continued w attitudes about everything. I asked if the visit was in network and again she gave me attitude about the co-pay. I asked if she would call to verify my insurance she said ugh no you can! She finally said at the end they just transitioned from an emergency room to an urgent care and nothing is in network. Last Wednesday, I came down with the flu (confirmed by a test at MY own doctor's office) and was told to take my 2.5yr old son into an emergency care place if he began to show symptoms, so that he could be treated immediately. On Thursday, My MIL, who lives in Clear Lake and was watching him while I recovered, said that he had a thick cough and runny nose, so she was going to take him in. The doctor at Emergi Care REFUSED to give my son the nasal swab for the flu, bc he said that my son didn't have "enough" symptoms. He then proceeded to lecture my husband about whether or not our son had a regular pediatrician (yes, and we couldn't get in quick enough), why we didn't take him there (see previous reason), and then insisted that the first side effect of the flu is sore muscles (mine wasn't, mine was a cough)... so he asked my 2.5yr old if his muscles hurt. Excuse me?! He asked a TODDLER if his muscles hurt?! Then based on my toddler's answer, determined that a flu test wasn't necessary. The VERY NEXT AFTERNOON my son came down with a fever, chills, and was up most of the night sweating. Thanks to the lovely charge the day before, we could not afford to take my son to another emergency care facility and couldn't get into our own pediatrician, so we were forced to treat my son with Tylenol all weekend, and wait for the Tuesday morning appt to our pediatrician's office. Today, we finally got in to see the pediatrician, and surprise surprise, my son has the flu (confirmed by nasal swab), BUT now that he has had his symptoms for 5 days... it's too late to treat with medication, and we get to "ride it out". To add insult to injury, I logged into mine and my husband's bank account to find out the name of your facility (since I wasn't there for the actual visit) to call and complain... and was welcomed with the news that you all charged us for the FULL ER visit copay. DOUBLE the amount of our urgent care copay. Our Urgent copay is $75, and you all charged us $150. I have already put a call into the administrator, and am waiting to hear back. I am just covering all of my bases. My son very rarely ever gets sick, so for my husband to be lectured like an overprotective parent is just ridiculous. Even still, if we were overprotective, WE are paying a premium to come to your facility, and if the child's main guardian has already been diagnosed with the flu, how hard is it to do a nasal swab to test the child? It is FLU season. I have yet to be in a doctor's office that didn't give a flu test just for verification purposes. read more

He worked with me on an acceptable solution to my bill. I was really not expecting a reply to my post, so was very surprised to hear from him. After having only been to an ER once in college in my 40+ years, I went to these guys for 3 different things over the course of a year or so!;) First I saw them after doing a face plant into the street racing my dog & kids home (it SEEMED like a good idea at the time --LOL!) I needed stitches in my chin & X-rays ( done there at Emergicare) revealed a minor crack in my elbow. I was cleaned up, stitched up, x-rayed & elbow bandaged in what seemed like no time! The second visit was about 8 months later for my daughter. She was 9 then & was horsing around at the local pool & accidentally crashed her face into her friends head. Along with a sore head & neck, she had a cut below her lower lip that went all the way thru to the inside of her mouth. (Yes--ouch!) The Emergicare folks checked her out using exam & onsite X-rays to rule out anything else. They got her cleaned up and bandaged in & us out the door with little waiting. Third time was for my mother-in-law. She had cancerous part of her lung removed in a recent surgery. Post surgery, she was staying with me to recuperate. She started showing signs of infection on a Friday night with fever & redness at incision. Very bad in her post surgery state! But the Emergicare guys can direct admit form their ER into a hospital-- so bypassing the Clear Lake Regional ER & sending her right into Clear Lake Regional hospital bed where she needed to be. She was in an Emergicare bed quickly waiting comfortably while they did preliminary blood work (so it would be available for her physician too) and arranged for ambulance to transport her directly to Clear Lake Regional shortly & a waiting bed in the hospital. In her condition, this was so much easier on her than a Friday night waiting in the Clear Lake Regional ER would have been! She verified that for me later too. At Emergicare she was seen within minutes of walking in the door. In short I found these guys to be thorough and competent -- I highly recommend them. And that direct admit into the hospital from their ER is VERY cool! Much easier on my dear MIL! read more

I was calling Emergicare on behalf of a friend who was experiencing severe depression and anxiety. It was so severe it concerned me of her mental state. I called at least 15 therapist, clinics and Dr's in an effort to get her help. No one would take her. I was at a loss and helpless. My last resort was calling an ER. I called Emergicare and i will admit that the receptionist acted uninterested as if i interrupted her day. She was very ho-hum and said we probably can't help you but i dunno. I was incredibly fruatrated, however, i didn't have another option at that point so we went. Upon entering the facility we were greeted by a kind man behid the admissions desk. We were seen within 15 minutes of our arrival. The nurse practitioner entered and told us that if my friend were not a harm to herself or others that we probably couldn't be helped. Dr. English came in, his bedside manner impeccable. He brought a calmness to 2 crying women which is hard to do for any man. He helped the best he could. The nurse, Amy, entered the room again. She felt compelled to come personally speak to my friend. She opened herself up, asked my friend about her situation, she helped us by simply talking, listening and actually caring when for two days - NO ONE did. We, all 3 of us were brought to tears. The kindness she showed was beyond what i ever expected. God bless Dr. English and Amazing Amy. We owe you both so much. Sometimes it really is the little things in life that mean the most. This place doesn't even deserve a rating of 1! For the people planning on going here, you will have to pay $1000 and more to just get something as small as a sore throat checked up. I got a bill for $1328 for a sore throat checkup and I think it is stupid. They rip you off and looks to me like a Fraud company, wonder why not so many come to this place. Urgent care is amazing and would recommend that compared to this ridiculous place. Plus that doctor wouldn't keep shut, kept on talking and talking. He offered to wave the balance due and went above and beyond to make me a satisfied patient and customer. My wife took me to this facility on Oct 22 at around 7AM on a Sunday morning. As other reviewers noted the facility was clean and the nurse and doctor were great. No problem there. It turned out to be about a 15 minute office visit (no tests, X-rays, etc). I had just lost my father about an hour or so prior to the visit and the stress had caused my neck to hurt badly. The doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer and I was out of the door. Then I got a bill. My insurance paid $235 and I still owed $400 for "facility use" and another $400 for doctor fee. For a 15 minute office visit. So please do yourself a favor and know that the cost of this place is sky high and I never saw anything posted indicating the minimum cost of a visit is well over $1000. read more

Took my son in for a sore throat (Strep test). Asked for an estimated cost up front but they could not give me any sort of estimated amount. After the visit I went to the desk to pay and was told my bill was $1,000 unless I paid it all at once and they would discount it to $536. I was quite shocked at the extremely high cost. After being told by Dr Jackson that the prices they charge are comparable to other clinics I decided to call other clinics about prices. I was quoted UNDER $200 without even having to be seen first. Price included visit without insurance and fees with worst case scenario pricing in case extra testing needed to be completed. read more

Let me start off by saying that my visit to Emergicare was for a work related injury that I sustained offshore. I work for a major international offshore company and, after my visit to Emergicare, my company has strictly concluded that they will never use this clinic again. I went here for mild pain in my lower abdomen (which ended up being a BB-sized umbilical hernia). Despite normal blood test and an inconclusive CT scan, Dr. English diagnosed me with appendicitis and required that I travel by ambulance (because they hooked me up to an IV) to the hospital for immediate surgery. When they called me in for surgery at the hospital, I declined because I was not convinced that I had appendicitis due to there being no consistency in the tests. After a 24-hour stay in the hospital for them to monitor me, the surgeon eventually told me that I "without a doubt, do NOT have appendicitis" and discharged me immediately. This visit was a couple months ago and after several more doctor's visits from other clinics, I can also verify that I did not and do not have appendicitis. If I would hved not been hesitant about the surgery, they would have removed my appendix on Dr. English's diagnosis. You can imagine the costs associated with a mandatory ambulance ride and a 24 hour hospital stay - all for nothing. I will never use the clinic again and Dr. English should be ashamed of his medical practices. ***Take my warning, stay away from this clinic!*** read more

After countless hours of waiting at the Clear Lake Reg ER (on quite a few different occasions) it was a no brainer to try this place the next time we had an emergency. The first emergency was my husband having severe abdominal pain, so severe that he was literally doubled over. The last time this happened we had gone to CLReg and my husband sat in the ER waiting area, doubled over, trying not to show his pain out of embarrassment. Triage saw no urgency in his condition. I wasn't putting him through that again! I have to say, this time at Emergicare things were handled so differently. First of all, they offered a wheel chair to get him into the facility which made things easier on both of us. Once he was in, they took him straight to a bed so he could lay down. They immediately started assessing his symptoms and asking questions. After approx. 10 minutes of questions, background info and vitals they gave him something for the pain, before they started the CT Scan, etc. I appreciate that so much as it was really hard to see a very strong man in that much pain. They ran tests and were able to get his pain under control until we were able to get him to a GI doc. The tests they ran saved a lot of time in the GI doc deciding how to treat him. (I was really surprised they had all the same ER equip as the big ERs) I should mention that the attending doc that night (Dr. Johnson or Jackson) impressed us. Once we got to the GI doc, all of the things he mentioned were familiar because we had been advised by the Emergicare doc of the possibilities. I also had to take my son to Emergicare after a motorcycle accident. They were very quick to get him back to a room and assess him. He had taken a horrible spill and slid on the road for quite a ways and had road rash horribly. They did x-rays and determined his wrist and ankle were both broken. They gave him pain meds to get him comfortable before cleaning those wounds, thank goodness! Because he was a bloody mess and in a lot of pain. Unlike the typical ER, this place felt clean & didn't smell. The staff was friendly and attentive in both situations. This will be our first stop for emergency care from now on! read more

Absolutely DO NOT go here. My husband went in for a sore throat, he was in a rush because he had to fly out the next day for work. We have good insurance and assumed it would cost us the $40 copay that Urgent Care usually does. But a month later we got a bill for $800! He was there maybe 10 minutes! And, they misdiagnosed him. He had to go to another Urgent Care facility while on his trip to get the proper diagnosis and medicine! When we called to discuss this with them the lady was completely rude. Very bad customer service. Yes, there was a stack of papers he signed upon check-in but the papers did not say that this would be billed the way it was, and we would be stuck with an $800 bill for a 10-minute visit. They never informed him of this. I'll never use them again. read more

I went in today for a bad migraine. It was around 6:30 am and no other patients. I was greeted and taken back. The got me started on some meds. The dr came in and was friendly and quick. He didnt ask me a 100 questions to get to the point. He gave me something to relieve the problem and a prescription. I didnt have to ask for a work note he automatically wrote one out. Staff was very clear on instructions and what they were going to do. Felt better , checked out, and paid. It was fast and convenient since my dr doesnt open till 8 and hope to get in same day. I'd go back. The staff asked the main questions needed, Before giving me meds asked if i had a ride or by myself. which makes a huge difference with migraine medicine. We've used this facility three times and have had great experiences and received good care. Yes, the cost is higher but it's worth it. We have been able to get in and out reasonably quickly, especially in comparison to an ER visit that would take hours. It's spotlessly clean and the staff is great. Highly recommend! read more
