Nancy loaned me several sample books and gave me great insight on the materials. I made a decision over night and returned to the store the next day. An appointment was set up for the next afternoon and the process started. In addition, I needed a traverse rod and Nancy helped me make a selection through text, phone calls and email after business hours as we were leaving for Germany in 2 days. Through the internet while I was in Germany, there assistance was greatly appreciated as I placed an order for a custom made non refundable rod. In early November, Nancy called to set up an appointment for the installation and I was called again to confirm the time. They came and installed 3 roman shades, the travers rod and hung my drape. It is wonderful! This professionally created custom drape has added flair and enhanced the look of our dinning room. Now, I am looking at the rest of my windows and working out a plan to convince my husband to have custom drapes made for them. My only regret, I didn't do this years ago,

As of September 18, 2010, only three pieces from my order (less than half of what I ordered) have been installed and delivered. The list of issues with this order. is long: there were production problems, a lost/misplaced order, and, finally, an inability by the manufacturer to expedite the delivery of my shutters due to rain and the Labor Day weekend. Two times I've been contacted by Custom Draperies by Lydia's supplier (Metro Blind and Shade) to confirm installation only to find out 24 hours before the scheduled installation that the complete shutter order is STILL not ready. Obviously the supplier used by Custom Draperies by Lydia is lacking in quality control as this was noticed after I was told that everything was ready to be installed this week. I have spent several thousand dollars on these custom shutters and this has been, by far, the worst service I've ever received from any company in any industry. Case in point: two days ago I was contacted by "Jay" @ Metro Blind and Shade (Custom Draperies by Lydia's supplier) and informed that there was a mis-match in the paint color on my shutters and that they were working to get the issue resolved and would be back in touch ASAP to reschedule the installation. 48 hours have gone by without a word from either Metro Blind and Shade or their local agent, Custom Draperies by Lydia. I will never, ever do business with either firm again and I will never recommend Custom Draperies by Lydia or their supplier (Metro Blind and Shade) to any family, friends or colleges.

At first, I had to file a report because they didn't hand over the apartment in acceptable condition. I've dealt with ongoing water pooling at my apartment entrance for years with no meaningful response or solution. Tenants are often expected to pay out of pocket for repairs that should clearly be handled by the property owner or management. They do not provide a fire extinguisher and appear to rely solely on smoke detectors, showing little concern for tenant safety and physical well-being. They love adding extra charges (rent insurance), and if you don't insist, they won't remove them! They also impose a $100 daily late fee immediately after the third day and follow it with aggressive emails threatening eviction, which feels disrespectful and excessive. Unfortunately, many staff members come across as arrogant and unprofessional, including the manager, whose conduct was especially difficult to deal with. ****I do not recommend Lone Star Realty, unless you want to live regrets for the rest of your contract!!!****
