The company came out more than a few times, and other businesses were complaining about their job. I hired a civil engineer for my kitchen and he noticed the roof was not right. He told me to fix it before I get mold. That was in early January 2023. Thursday, January 19, a roofing specialist came to fix the water problem, and he pointed out, "my metal potion of my roof is trapping water and it's growing mold". My gutters were dirty when I had my gutters replaced; And, so were my downspouts. On my quote, they said they were going to clean them. They never did. Last Dec 2021 JC Roofing put a tarp on my 3000 sq ft house. I paid them $1200.00. I was told that JC Roofing would do the necessary paper work to finance the new roof through the financing where I had been approved. After calling them time after time they did not do the paper work. The cheap plastic that used to tarp the house disintegrated and has been flying all over the neighborhood for 6 months. They will not come and get it off my roof. They came once and got it off the electrical wires and left a big ball on my roof. J.C. put a new roof on the home I moved into in 2010. We upgraded to 50 year shingles and asked for the best underlayment. In the spring of 2018 I called and asked if he could look at one spot where I noticed mold growing on the bedroom ceiling. After I showed him his paperwork from 2010 he said he would take care of it. He claimed he did something, but I saw no evidence of worm. He stopped showing up or returning my calls. In late 2018 we came home from vacation to find that leak plus 3 more on two additional slopes of the roof and the livingroom and spare bedroom ceilings falling down. I wouldn't trust JC with a roof. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Needed roof repairs obviously. Called JC on a Friday for a Monday morning meeting at 9 am. He never showed. Called multiple times and once I got through, they didn't even try to give an excuse. A person came to the house on Tuesday and just started working on it. All I wanted was a quote. Didn't even introduce himself or anything. So I'm like, screw it, it needs fixed. Guy worked about a half day then just left. Left stuff everywhere. Didn't clean up his mess. Didn't tell us what was done, what needed to be done, if there was more to do or anything. I call, owner says he'll talk to the guy. Owner says needs another half day of work. I never see them again. Won't answer my texts or calls. I left a message stating do not try to bill me. Beware people. Get before and after pics, have them leave you a detailed detailed list and cost of the work that was done and the equipment that was purchased. Shady company full of shady men. We had been looking for someone to install gutters. I set up an appointment with this guy twice and he no showed the first time. We decided to give it another go and set up another appointment for an estimate and he no showed again. I will say that he was very nice on the phone but if you are not going to show up for scheduled appointments the least you could do is call or text. We ended up going with Lowe's to get our rain gutters installed after being blown off not once BUT TWICE by this dude. Would not recommend. read more

I needed a new roof on my home in Magalia and Affordable J. C. Roofing was recommended by Home Advisor. Julio came out right away and I had my estimate online very quickly. Julio also called me to go over the estimate and answer any questions I might have. I told him I would get back to him as I was waiting on other estimates. I received 4 estimates from different contractors in the area. Affordable J. C. Roofing was the most comprehensive and the lowest price. I weighed all the reviews because some were not very good for any of the contractors and decided to go with Affordable and Julio. I have to admit getting started was a little slow. Affordable J. C. Roofing is not a huge business, Julio does all the office paper work, contacting, and scheduling and permit work. Summer plus the fire has made the work load very hectic. I noticed that with all the companies I contacted. One estimate took a 1 1/2 months to get. I did have to keep calling for a start date but once the work began and the work crews showed up at my house I was very impressed. The removal crew had the roof stripped in no time at all and everything was cleaned up and ready for material and install by the end of the day. The new 30 year roof was installed with every detail that was described in the estimate by the end of the week. Such a beautiful job. I had my final inspection permit 2 days later. Flashing 5 existing skylights and installing 2 new skylights was also part of the project. I couldn't be happier. A few extra phone calls was well worth the effort and savings. read more

Finally a contractor who takes pride in his work! We purchased a rental house that needed a complete new roof and also wanted to elevate the pitch in one area and add skylights. We have a roof issue that we are trying to have repaired before the rainy season starts, and have reached out to Affordable JC Roofing four times via phone and email over a three week period, and never heard back. The website says that they handle jobs of any size, including small jobs, but it seems like they don't like to bother with smaller projects. He went over to one of our rentals that had an issue with the roof very promptly and checked out the damage to the roof, then we NEVER heard back. We've emailed and called him multiple times requesting our quote and have yet to see it over a month later. He is unprofessional, doesn't return messages or emails, doesn't follow through. This makes us wonder if he will finish the job if we ever hired him. We can't trust our rentals to someone like that. read more

Absolutely 100% satisfaction here. I had 3 bids, one of them was sky high, the other two were about the same, including Julio's. I chose Julio because his estimate included every action they would take on the roof and the brand name of the materials used. He also included a clause that said that replacing rotted boards in the framework would not exceed $300. They ended up replacing definitely more than that amount, but my final bill was the original estimate - in other words the rotted wood was bought and replaced for free. Had a similar experience as a previous reviewer. Called, and they were great about sending someone out the same day to take a look at my roof. Was told Julio would call me with an estimate. I let two days pass with no call, so I took the initiative to call. He offered to drop off my estimate that day or email it to me, and I asked for him to drop it off. Said he would be by at 3. Never showed, never called. I tried contacting to say if it's easier, just email me. Nothing. So unprofessional. This is the second roofing company that I've had little to no response from - apparently these people don't have any interest in getting some business. read more

Julio and his crew were prompt and took care of the issue right away. We had a leak in our skylight evident after a good couple of days of rain. I called him the next day, and in a matter of hours on the weekend, he was at my house inspecting. He had the estimate available the next day on a Sunday! With rain in the forecast on Wednesday, he was out early Tuesday morning and was able to research the skylight, as well as taking the initiative to seal all flashings, storm collars, and roof jacks. He took the time to take pictures of the issue and explain what work was done, being very respectful of a female customers hesitation due to being unfamiliar with roofing terminology and composition. Complete flakes & very unprofessional. They were recommended by HomeAdvisor so I called them. They answered the phone, seemed nice enough & then asked if they could call right back. He never did. I waited a couple of days & called him back. We set up an appointment for him to come look at our roof & work up an estimate. He said he would call that day when he got closer, but never did. We're in the middle of a re-fi, I'm busy, 3 weeks go by & I'm finding it's hard to find people willing to work in Willows as most people are based in Chico. I don't know why I gave them a third chance. but I did & made the appointment through HomeAdvisor's site directly. JC Roofing did call the next day to confirm the appointment on my answering machine. I called them back & left a message confirming it again. My grandma made an appointment to get an estimate for our flat roof. The appointment was for 11 am. We waited about an hour to see if anyone was showing up. Well we called around 12:25 pm. Well a man answered and said his dad was coming out. Well we waited and called again. Now they're not answering their phones either. Very unprofessional to miss an appointment with a potential client, and not answering/ avoiding our phone calls. Very disappointed and will not being doing business with a company like this. Julio and his crew are absolutely spot on! The very first day i called for a bid on my roof, Julio came by to do the estimate and then printed it off in his truck in front of the house. After a couple of days i called him back for some changes i hoped for, and once again he came that day and remade the bid with the changes. His prices are well below the competition. We agreed to have it done, so he printed out the new contract (in his truck again), then we signed and agreed upon the first or second week of july. On july 7th a crew came out and stripped the roof bare, sheeted it, and rolled out the felt in one day! The roof tiles were delivered the 2nd day, and the on the third day his crew came out and finished the whole job beautifully and professionally!! These guys worked nonstop, with great attitudes and smiles all day long! This was an exceptional experience and Julio is a very honest and committed roofing contractor; he is also a very kind and intelligent person. I enjoyed chatting with him when we agreed upon the job, and also when I paid for his services once the roof was finished!!
