Affordable Tree just showed up out of the blue and started cutting holes into my driveway. Right next to gas lines. With no utility locate done beforehand. Apparently, my neighbor wanted some dead roots from a tree in our front yard removed from her side of the yard. However, Affordable Tree paid no attention to property lines and started cutting holes into my driveway. When confronted, I got a big spiel about "just following my work order". I showed the "expert" again that they are on MY property line, cutting holes right in front of my driveway gate, and that they need to at least get in touch with the homeowner before damaging their property. He finally apologized, and I made sure he would be backfilling the holes before leaving. Which, 1 star for the fact that he DID do that. Not only were holes cut into my property, they were cutting DANGEROUSLY close to my house's natural gas lines that run a couple of feet away from where the holes are. No survey was done beforehand, and no markings were made by any utility companies. To mark the final insult, this "expert" then had the brilliant idea to ask if I would be "getting in touch with Affordable Tree" to have that tree on my property removed. Unbelievable. Your response to a major screw-up (and possibly almost blowing up the neighborhood) is a sales pitch?? Needless to say, I laughed and walked back inside. read more

Once I received the estimate, the process was smooth (and fast!) to get my dead Aspen removed and complete the stump grinding. I was kept informed of the process by both the office and the crew that showed up. It is great to see a company operating so well that everyone is on the same page. This is my second year of using Affordable Tree. The crew of 3 showed up on time to cut dead wood and trim up two enormous cottonwood trees. Cole and the Crew Two team of three are outstanding! Affordable Tree Service and Shrub Experts is the best "Hire a guy" experience we have ever had. We are in our mid-seventies and have learned to be very cautious. We needed a dead pine tree cut down. They sent someone to estimate the job so we did a walkabout and decided to hire the 3 man crew for a day to take care of other work we needed on our 9 acres. More damage came from the last late, wet, snowstorm before the scheduled work date so we were able to deal with that work also. Crew two was skilled, respectful, and flexible. My wife and I are so happy we hired AT&S to take care of all of the trimming, tree removal, fire mitigation, balancing, and dead wood removal and chipping. We could have never have gotten all of this done so efficiently and economically any other way. Skilled hard working young men! read more

Colorado Springs, CO 0 1 9/27/2021 Mike, of Mr. Squid's Maintenance Solutions, did an excellent job of trimming our sad-looking hedge today; and we are very optimistic about full recovery of the lilac hedge that borders our neighbors' property. Mike diligently and expertly attended to both sides of the hedge, lowered the top, and dispensed of weeds at the bottom and end--including a very invasive Virginia Creeper. Not only is Mike a conscientious and skilled worker, he also is very pleasant and personable. We can breathe a sigh of relief in that we now have checked off another item on our outdoor maintenance list as perfectly done by Mike at Mr. Squid's. read more

Steve came to give me an written estimate and was very helpful with information and making sure that the tree would be safe until they were able to cut it down, as part of the tree had splintered off and fallen already. When the crew showed up, I was so happy the work was getting done, and I could see that Michael, Chris and Nick were being extremely cautious. The cottonwood was between a deep drainage ditch and a fence, and one of them climbed the tree and used ropes to lower the cut pieces so that my fence and the neighbor's house would not be damaged. We hired Affordable Tree and Shrub Experts to trim a 60-65 foot white elm we had in our yard as we had concerns with the coming winter that we might have branches cause roof or fence damage to the neighbors. They were reasonably priced and did an exceptional job. We called after the big wind storm last month (Dec 2020) and we had our estimate in less than a week. The service was scheduled in the following week after Christmas and we couldn't be happier. We have three over 30' dead Aspen trees, one of which up-rooted it self and was leaning on my neighbors pine tree over their roof. We had Team #3 out here and they met with me to go over the job. They were able to get the bucket truck in position and removal of the two closest to the house then that last one has to be climbed because of location. My trees were all close to my house and the team took extra care to not damage ANYTHING. Not my sidewalk, my windows, my property or my neighbors property. They followed all the safety precautions while in the lift and while in the tree, not forgetting the two on the ground! It was also another windy day of course. The team of 3 did an amazing job of tree removal, clean up, and stacking the wood left behind. I would highly recommend. Thank you for an amazing job! read more

Great pricing. They offer a veterans discount and they were cheaper than another place I called for tree removal. Last year I had 3 medium sized trees and one small tree removed and they showed up early morning. I feel like they were done removing the trees by the time I finished my coffee!! The only small issue I had was with them not grinding the tree stumps after tree removal as requested, but I called back and they came back a day or two later because they explained it was a different crew that does that work. This year I had a couple trees and some shrubs trimmed and hedges removed. Great job again. The service is excellent and I highly recommend them! read more

really wanted to leave a 5 star review, but I can't. The work done by Kyle's crew on my tree was good. The problem with the crew is that they damaged my neighbors property then ignored them completely when my neighbors complained. They also left my gate open when they left letting my dogs out into the street. This is unacceptable by anyone. They care about trees and shrubs, but your priory or neighbors property or your pets are at risk from having this company on your project. Very disappointed. We were just very lucky that the neighbors they pissed off were still nice enough to catch our dogs when they saw them in the street. I am beyond upset about their carelessness. read more

Since we had a major storm with trees and limbs down all over town I was having trouble finding a company that could accommodate my tree planting schedule. After an initial call which was hurried I reached out to the owner Steven on FB and low and behold he showed up the very next day to see if he could help. My small dog had just died, I rushed to buy a tree to plant his ashes under without realizing how long it would take to get booked for tree removal. Not only was Steven compassionate, kind and attentive he offered to remove the two small offshoots at no charge! Imagine that! We only have used this company once, but very impressed with their integrity. There is A beetle that is going through all the trees and killing many of them. As a result, many people are very fearful of losing their trees. This included us. Based on that fear any tree company could've said here's what we need to do to save your trees even if they didn't need any help. That is not the case with this service. They were honest and shared that we could do some thing but it is not necessary. Refreshing to know that we can trust them and when something else comes up they'll be the first when we call. read more
