Though it's always a hard workout, the workouts are scaled for your level. That being said, no matter where you are and how much you scale it, you'll be wishing you were dead half way through every workout. Yet somehow you always come back for more pain. It's great. I have been going to…read morethe RAC for women since May 2017 and I'm already counting the days until my membership is over. Thinking about paying it out or just signing up for a new gym until this one runs out. Here are my grievances: 1. They offer these "Power 30" classes you have to buy beyond your membership to utilize. They are actually pretty nice classes but expensive. The issue is these classes take place in the free weight room (arguably the busiest weight room of the gym) during BUSY hours. That means all us mere muggles must push off and work out some place else (why am I paying for a gym membership when I can't access the equipment?!). 2. If you want morning classes, get up at 5am or forget about it. How hard is it to offer a 6:30 or 7am yoga class? They only offer Power 30 in the morning when people want classes, so basically you can only utilize the prime hours and area of the gym if you pay more money. 3. Be prepared to receive lesser treatment from the staff if you are not paying more money for either Power 30 or personal training. Be prepared to be kicked off equipment so they can use it for their purposes. It has happened to me several times! Today a trainer was working with a woman, watched me use the pully machine as part of my exercise circuit. Walked up and took my attachments off, changed the weight, and used the machine for 10+ minutes when I only had one circuit left to do. The girl she was training even felt bad and I heard her say "I really don't mind walking to the other weight room," to which the trainer replied "No, we're staying right here" as she took my attachments off. Just rude!! Couldn't even ask if I was done using the equipment. 4. The free two meetings with a "personal trainer" they offer you are garbage. They set everyone who comes in up with almost the exact same plan. The girl who set my plan up was so miserable, she obviously hated working there and didn't care if I came back to the gym ever again. She doesn't work there any more (so much for helping me keep on track). If you want any useful help you have to pay for a personal trainer. 5. If you walk in and someone asks if you know anyone who wants to join, just say NO or she will text your personal phone trying to pressure you into referring your friends. There is no benefit to throwing your friends under the bus. They don't give you a free power 30 or a free month or anything if one of your friends sign up from your reference. And trust me, you do NOT want your friends going here! The only thing that I don't hate about this gym are the instructors. Susan and Jodi are both fantastic instructors and I love their yoga classes. I will miss them when I leave.

OTF Pittsford is pretty standard as far as the OTF brand goes -- clean facility, friendly staff,…read moreetc. My only gripe is that they have one trainer who teaches 80% of the classes, and if you're not crazy about him (imho he's fine as an instructor, but his 2010 alternative rock music choices don't get me motivated) there aren't many options for other classes/teachers. This is very close to my house, but will try one of the other locations to mix it up.

When I first found out that Women's RAC had sold to Athena's Army, I emailed Women's RAC saying I…read morewanted to cancel due to COVID. They told me I had to cancel through Athena's Army. I tried twice to get ahold of them and got a strange rambling form letter (see photos). Here are some quotes from it: They have "no website, email tools or even internet, music or cable...[with] some of the nice unique pieces of fitness equipment taken out". "We will build a BETTER gym...but we need your support to accomplish this" indicating they need our money to start up their gym. "THAT said, it's a sensitive time for everyone, staff included...some instructors, like Marie Quinton and Susan LoFurno, have circumstances that compel them to wait and see how this opening goes before coming back...but if members say, I want to see who comes back before I decide, well, I don't know how can that work?" There are more but these three indicate they weren't ready to open and the gym was not in the condition that the Women's RAC was when we signed. How can they charge membership for a gym in this condition? Why should we fund their growing pains? I have gone back and forth with them and they are combative, whiny about "why do we want their business to fail", unprofessional, and frankly - a little scary. They double down on bad customer service. They have posted disinformation about COVID on their Facebook page saying the cure is exercise and they sent an email saying even if they are shut down with Covid restrictions, if 100 people show up on Thanksgiving they will open "come hell or high water". They disabled reviews on their Facebook page because they were getting so many negative reviews. They emailed me back saying COVID doesn't void a contract (completely ignoring my concerns over the condition of this gym) and then threatened me with collections explaining how that ruins my credit score. They literally signed the email "Good luck". Small claims court everyone?

My daughter just took the trial class last week and enjoyed it. There are multiple instructors for…read moreone class so the kid/instructor ratio remains low and kids get the attention and guidance that they need. The physical space seems new and clean. They mix up the 45 minute sessions well with water breaks and also a short interactive visual game on the TV screen. I don't know how much they charge (wife signed up), but it might be worth checking out.
