Do not use Joe Adams & Associates under any circumstances…read more Our experience with Joseph Adams essentially turned my wife's and my life upside down and cost us more than $10,000 in damages. We hired Mr Adams to handle my immigration case. When USCIS issued a Request for Evidence, his response was sent at the last possible moment by overnight delivery, without giving me a meaningful opportunity to review it. More importantly, a key requirement in the RFE was not properly addressed. USCIS denied my application for that exact reason. We were then left to deal with the consequences. Our immigration plans were thrown into chaos, we incurred thousands of dollars in additional costs, and I ultimately had to take Mr Adams to small claims court. I won. Mr Adams challenged that judgment and the case was heard again before another judge. I won again. His subsequent challenge was dismissed. What concerned me even more was what happened after the immigration denial. Mr Adams proposed an O-1 visa "workaround" which, as it was explained to me, I believed would require presenting circumstances to USCIS that were not true. I refused. I have submitted the evidence relating to that proposal to the California State Bar. I also subsequently discovered that Mr Adams had previously been suspended by the California State Bar following disciplinary proceedings involving failures of competence and diligence. Remarkably, that disciplinary history included another immigration matter involving an O-1 petition. We were never told about this when we hired him. Anyone considering this firm should look up Joseph Adams, California Bar No. 239181, and read the State Bar disciplinary history for themselves. Immigration cases affect people's marriages, careers, finances and ability to live in the same country as their families. Our experience with this firm was genuinely devastating. This isn't a review I have written in the heat of the moment. I went through the court process, put my case before two judges, and prevailed. I would never entrust an immigration matter to Joe Adams & Associates again.
