They notified me that I have a stud in my left rear tire that was damaged. I told them I would return on Thursday for the replacement. I noticed that one of my wheel caps was missing on Wednesday and let them know on my return today. Their tech stated it was missing upon my delivery on Tuesday for the tire rotation. No memo was given that it was missing when I arrived for the rotation and I strongly believe that it was there, I have pictures from the week before that clearly show the cap on the wheel. The caps run about $75.00 plus shipping to Alaska. No offer was made for reimbursement, I paid to have the stud replaced. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. I would recommend you take pictures of your vehicle on drop off.

He spoke to them by phone prior to work being done & rep exagerated the proposed extent of repairs. Same grinding noise started up again 2 weeks ago, requiring replacement of right rear rotor & both rear brake pads. Rear brakes were both metal on metal. Apparently, checking ALL brake pads for wear isn't a thing at Alyeska. Total for parts was around $200 this time--less than 1/2 Alyeska's charges 8 months ago. Alyeska's total for changing out one front rotor, both front pads and alignment was $1888. Learned from a friend that she had the same work done this year at Chinook Auto Repair in Ninilchik for $330--less than 1/5th what I paid these inept crooks. This place SUCKS. (As an aside: with the service I received from this place, I have to wonder if the front left pad actually was replaced.)

Thurmonds has gas per gallon prices cheaper even than Soldotna (which is closer to refineries and several other stations). I fill up in Anch. and then on my way back to Anch., coming back into town with half a tank. My son lives in Homer and drives to Anchor Point for his gas fill-ups.....Please take note as you drive the highway, you will find Thurmonds a decent, clean and locally owned business that deserves your attention. Wish we had a place like this up here in anchorage...;)
