Had the right front rotor/pad assy and left front brake pad replaced in Homer, AK shop 8 months ago…read morewhile my husband was out of town. He spoke to them by phone prior to work being done & rep exagerated the proposed extent of repairs. Same grinding noise started up again 2 weeks ago, requiring replacement of right rear rotor & both rear brake pads. Rear brakes were both metal on metal. Apparently, checking ALL brake pads for wear isn't a thing at Alyeska. Total for parts was around $200 this time--less than 1/2 Alyeska's charges 8 months ago. Alyeska's total for changing out one front rotor, both front pads and alignment was $1888. Learned from a friend that she had the same work done this year at Chinook Auto Repair in Ninilchik for $330--less than 1/5th what I paid these inept crooks. This place SUCKS. (As an aside: with the service I received from this place, I have to wonder if the front left pad actually was replaced.)
