Arthur Gordon is meticulous and thorough. He is our go-to guy when it comes to proofreading and copy editing. We highly recommend him.

As a resident of West Hollywood, I've read LA Weekly for decades. But 6 months ago, all of the…read moreplaces I would get it from every week, just stopped carrying it. I contacted them and was offered 3 other locations. But now, they've disappeared from those locations, as well. I've tried contacting them by phone and via their website. But repeatedly, no one answers the phone, and they repeatedly never respond to voicemail messages. They used to, but not anymore. I know they were sold again recently, so it's starting to appear that they (like other print publications) may have stopped their printed editions in favor of just being made available online. All said, they've always had GREAT content, but WHEN or IF you can pick up a copy locally anymore. And at least either answer your phone or respond to inquiries because we've started to lose interest.

LA Weekly, I truly expected you to be more in-line with other alternative newsweekly publications…read more Instead, you seem rather superficial, just like so much other fluff in this city of angles (yes, angles). My expectations for pseudo-investigative journalism and political pieces flanked by editorials filled with foaming-at-the-mouth liberalism were so high. The Austin Chronicle puts you to shame in these departments. I'll give credit where credit is due, though. Thank you for a rather thorough concert calendar. And thank you for being free and plentiful, as well, because you'll come in handy the next time I have to move and need to wrap my dishes again.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and I can believe I've never been here. What a cool shop. They…read moreserve coffee, they have a deli and bakery section, snacks, drinks. bread, cheese, books...knickknacks! They have a bit of everything here and it'd be a great place to stop in to pick up stuff for a picnic or entertaining. It also looks like they are about to open a dinette that's attached. Kind of excited for that!

The Helms Bakery District used to be a real bakery called Helms Bakery. It is a city or two blocks…read morelong and it was always huge. They made all sorts of baked products, mostly bread. They had trucks that would go through the City the sell their products. Those days are long gone and for years, Helms just sat there empty and falling apart. About 20 years ago they started to work on it. It is not owned by Helms. It is now an upper class shopping area with about 5 or 6 eateries, some great, some not. The place is super nice to walk and just go through the furniture stores and look for a restaurant you might want to try. We love the Father's Office. They have great sandwiches and burgers. They really are like a beer bar with lots of craft beers on tap. They have a lighting store which is wonderful, but expensive as are all the furniture stores. But you can get things here you will not find elsewhere. It is pet friendly. The service at at all the places we have been to is great. Everyone is friendly and knows their business and what they have in stock. Parkin is in their lot and is free. Have fun.
