Backstory, I currently live in Chicago and I've been in Atlanta for some time helping my family. I needed to see a doctor but with out of state insurance I wanted to make sure I found a provider in my network. After entering my information on ZocDoc (a website I use frequently to book appointments) I found two providers in my network, one being Dr. Chang Soo Kim. I gravitated to his profile bc I appreciated that this is a family practice. I scheduled my appointment, filled out all the prerequisite paperwork and prepared for my visit. This facility is approximately 1hr away from where I reside, my appointment was at 3:15pm so I knew it would be an all day thing bc of the commute back and forth (5:00pm Atlanta traffic is no joke). Which, for quality service (based off previous reviews) I didn't mind. When I finally arrived to the facility I was greeted by a young woman who asked for my id and insurance card, I expressed to her I uploaded all of my information on ZocDoc while simultaneously giving her both items. She stated that she saw my file on ZocDoc and I would need to fill out new patient paperwork (this was expected). After filling out the paperwork I asked if I would have a copayment she then proceeded to say that she needed to double check my insurance. (Keep in mind, it is the doctors duty to provide ZocDoc with a list of insurance carriers they accept so ZocDoc can make the scheduling process seamless for clients using their platform). So when she said this I was confused bc according to Dr. Chang Soo Kim's list of accepted insurance carriers he accepts my provider and is in my network. I waited for about 10 min. then another woman called my name. She explained that they do not accept my insurance but I could pay out of pocket. I proceeded to ask "what is the out of pocket cost?" She then stated, "$35.00". I said, "ok, no worries" and proceeded to pay the amount requested (I did drive an hour so it only made sense that I see the doctor). After paying I sat down in the waiting room and watched patient after patient come and go, only for my name not to be called. I found this odd being that my original appointment was for 3:15pm and now it was 4:00pm. So, I went back to the desk and asked the young woman what time will I be able to see the doctor (keep in mind I paid money). She had a bemused look on her face and said I should see him shortly. Quickly after, the woman who initially took my payment came out and stated, "you're still here, I thought you left. We don't take your insurance and you would need to pay for the visit". Imagine my confusion bc 1. It's a small, open floor plan with a glass partition and I'm the only black girl seated in front of the partition in a waiting room with about 4 other people who were of Asian, descent. 2. I paid this lady less than 40 mins ago! So, instead of becoming irate I contacted ZocDoc and disputed the charge bc this family practice took my money, watched my wait for 40 mins and canceled my appointment. No services were rendered but I was coerced into paying money to a facility that is misleading and racially profiling individuals. I'm not typically one to leave a negative comment but there was absolutely no remorse or real explanation to why I was charged. I recommend that you choose this practice at your own risk if you're not of an Asian descent and speak their language. read more

They were holding my daily cholesterol low dosage 40 mg medicine until visiting Dr's office again. I have visited this office 6 months ago. I never visited Dr's office every 3 or 6 months for regular check up. My insurance may not cover the regular annual check up within 3 or 6 months. read more

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and ignore the reviews. The doctor there is rude, could care less about your concerns/worries, judges you for taking medication that other doctors have prescribed, looks down on mental health issues, and the list goes on. Would not recommend coming here and if you do, ask for one of the registered nurses, not the doctor. What a shame and a waste of my time and money. The visit completely drained me. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I was referred by my eye doctor to have some blood test taken because of a reoccurring issue with my eyes. The issue is caused by an underlying condition that the doctor needed to help me discover. I scheduled an appointment with Dr Chang Soo Kim and I have NEVER ever in my life been treated so bad. I explained to Dr Kim why I was there and he stated "why you here, go eye doctor"! Well the eye doctor is the one who sent me! He threw his hands in the air and said "waste my time" and with his broken English and bad bedside manner he walked out of the exam room and left me sitting there. No ethical conduct, bad bedside manner, rude!! If you want to be listened to and treated with respect I suggest you avoid Dr. Kim. read more

My family has been seeing Dr. Kim for over 11 years and we NEVER had a problem with the Doctor. He is ALWAYS clear concise and complete when it comes to providing a diagnosis. Dr. Kim is very personable, intelligent and takes his time when you are in his care. Yes the wait is a little long some times however please remember that Doctor Kim's sees patients from 8 am to sometimes 5:30 and he is the ONLY doctor there most times. I don't even think he takes a lunch break! The wait is well worth it! Also I don't understand the negative comments. I don't know any doctor that is going to give a patient scheduled drug 2 without being seen. He is never the problem when I go to Ag family Now there are is one "not so nice admin" @ the front She speaks in a very disrespectful way and it frankly it is quite offensive. There has been several times that I made an appointment via zocdoc and was told that I had to reschedule by this individual....Not so cool if the zocdoc service is utilized by Doctor Kim and I am sure he is paying for that service but yet front desk are turning patient's away. This last time was the last straw. "Front Admin" advised me that office are booked and the appt I made on zocdoc needed to be rescheduled. I went to office and advised that she needs to honor my zocdoc appointment as I took off from work to be seen....she refused... 1 patient finally walking out because of the long wait.... this particular person still said that she could not see me. Not until my husband had to reason with her and practically break it down to this individual that I would be taking her place... she finally had no choice but to put us in place of the walk out! That is the only flaw in the office however the other MA's are GREAT! Especially Shin. He is the greatest. Wish I could give negative stars. Called to receive treatment for my extreme Covid symptoms and was told I'd receive cough syrup with codeine in it as my cough is very very painful my throat is extremely sore and I'm coughing up blood. Then I call the pharmacy and find out that she has switched my prescription to some more mild cough syrup with no codeine and without telling me and the pharmacy doesn't have it in stock. When I called back to try and get an answer the doctor refused to talk to me or change her mind. then given no alternative I asked them to forward the prescription to another pharmacy across the street which I just called and found out that they were never notified so now I have no medication to treat these extreme symptoms of my sore throat/Covid-19. This is besides the fact that the receptionist was extremely rude to me the entire time on the phone. hope this place goes out of business. thanks for nothing. read more

Don't waste your time here, the doctor is very UNCARING.. I told him I was diabetic and he sent me to 3 different doctors, when I came back to check up he didn't even seem like he cared, didn't discuss about what the other doctors had to say and sat on his computer. He seemed annoyed and indirectly said I should go to the diabetic doctor and not to him. I came there for another check up awhile later and told him I've been having shortness of breath almost everyday for a couple months and he told me there's nothing wrong with me? Uh, hello I can't freaking breath for 3 months now... I'm pretty sure you're just lazy and sitting on that damn computer googling what's wrong with your patients. Reading the negative reviews, I feel the need to post a my own comments. Foremost, I do not go to a doctor for bedside manner, chitchat, not affirmation of my self-diagnosis. This doctor admittedly is not real personal in presentation. He checks you out, asks pertinent questions, diagnoses or refers. Then he moves on to the next patient. I guess that's his personality? But he gets the job done. If you listen to him, follow his advice, then you have been served well. Why do you need a warm and fuzzy doctor? Now, and I think this is the best part of AG Family Medicine as I discern, the Physician's Assistant makes the visit most worthwhile. She listens, is thorough and personable. She makes sense, has time for you. I think the doctor knows his limitations, and is most wise to employ her to complete the experience for us. She is great. This is the worst doctor I have ever been to. We recently started coming here out of necessity because my son needed a new doctor that could accept him immediately and monitor his medications. This was the first place in our area that accepted his insurance and could fit us in immediately. Our first visit went well. However subsequent visits have been absolutely horrible. Dr. Kim has made rude and disrespectful statements and very combative 2/3 visits. I have has to stand my ground lerring him know that I will not tolerate his rude and disrespectful comments. After addressing his behavior he never apolofized but his demeanor became "nice". Which is why I returned for a subsequent visit giving him the benefit of the doubt. After the second incident of Dr. Kim being rude and disrespectful we learned that this is the culture of AG Family practice and not a isolated incident. Todays visit and reason for review: Because there are Currently no other doctors in our area who accepts our insurance with openings, we have to continue seeing Dr. Kim for my sons medical needs. A week ago I sent a request for a percription refill and appt. AG replied with a appt date but not with a time to pick up the perscription. Because their office will be closed for the holidays and the percription is needed prior to it being closed, I contacted them first thing this morning to request a percription refill. I recieved a messaged that stated my percription was being processed. I recieved a second message that a follow up appt was also needed to continue redilling the perscription. No worries my son has an appt scheduled for when they reopen (remember) but we need his perscription prior to that. It typically only takes a dew minutes to write a new perscription so after about an hr, I contacted them to let rhem know I was on my way to pick up the perscription. No reaponse. Upon my arrival my percription was not ready because I needed to have the appt first. I informed them that that was not disclosed when I originally requested the pera ription a week ago nor was it disclosed this morning when I sent a follow up request. The staff responded rudely and told me thats not their fault and that the Dr. will not refill his perscription. They said the Dr. was in with a patient and I can wait to speak with him whwn he is done. I have been waitinf for over an hour, several patients have come in and out and the Dr. still has not come out to resolve the problem. They have continued to say that they are working on my percription and it will be right out so I have been patiently waiting. However it does not take an hour to write a percription and this goes to show how they treat their clients. In addition the receptionist has not only been rude to me, but I have observed her being very rude to other clients. This is Korean establishment and from my personal experience and simple observations while waiting for now over and hour they have been very rude to several non Koreans. It seems as if they want our money but dont respect us to provide us with respect and adequate service. Please if you are nonKorean this is not the practice for you. Update: Ive been waiting for almost 2 hrs. Consistently being told that they are working on it. After the last patient just sent in before me again, I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. She looked at the sign in sheet and said 5 more patients! She didnt even have me sign and I know I have been waiting longer then these 5 patients to fill a freaking percription! This is ridiculous! read more

The doctor and nurses are very helpful and informative, honestly some of the nicest providers I've met. The front desk and medical assistants were very helpful as well. they really seem to care about patient satisfaction. Another bonus is that they have a pharmacy onsite so one does not have to drive elsewhere for their medication. Overall would recommend to everyone I know read more

I had a great experience at AG Family! As soon as I walked in I was greeted very politely and the front desk was very kind as to help me fill out all my information, since everything there is mostly electronic and paperless! Dr. Kim seems like a very experienced and knowledgable doctor. I came to him with a few issues and he explained each one very thoroughly to me. Also saved a trip to the pharmacy since they have a pharmacy at their clinic. Will definitely be my primary care doctor from now on. read more

I can always get an appointment the same day or next day. I've referred two friends here who have had the same experience. Dr Kim is very nice and thorough in his explanations. He usually spends about 20 minutes with me. The assistants are all very kind. 2 years ago I woke up on Christmas Eve with strep throat. They got me in on Christmas Eve because of their great Urgent Care hours and I didn't even have to pay my Urgent Care co-pay. They only charged me my PCP co-pay. read more

Dr. Kim has been my doctor since 2011, so 7 years. I started seeing him at his suwanee location at that time. He was listed on my insurance so I started with him. It goes to show when he moved to Duluth I drive that far to see him to this day! I even drove to see him and paid out of pocket when I had a short lapse in insurance. An urgent care would have been cheaper to get treated for a sinus infection. I didn't trust anyone besides Dr. Kim. He has ALWAYS showed me compassion and nothing but respect. The previous review of if you aren't Asian do go there is absolutely rude and not the truth at all. I have sent family and friends to this practice. They were just as satisfied as myself. I have seen him from sinus infections that kept reoccurring and he made sure I got a proper referral to the ENT. The ENT unfortunately put me on a month long antibiotic that resulted in me getting colitis and being hospitalized for 5 days almost dying! As soon as I noticed something was wrong with my stomach on week two of the antibiotics I called dr Kim he said come in right away. He knew exactly what was wrong and sent me straight to the hospital. He literally saved my life! Other doctors would have said call the ent and tell them what's going on but he took his compassion to another level and put me first. When I'm sure he had plenty of other patients that day that already had appointments. I have also been treated with depression by Dr. Kim for many years as well. He also made sure my medicine was working and if I didn't feel ok he would take time to research and find one that worked. I recently got diagnosed with TMJ and had one surgery already but need a second one. I couldn't get ahold of my surgeon and Dr. Kim fit me right in yesterday to take care of me until my surgeon calls me back (hopefully) he will by Monday. If it was for Dr. Kim and his staff always being there for me and responding to so fast to request for prescription refills I don't know where I would be today. He has even gone as far to order an MRI to make sure I'm making the right decision with this second surgery for my tmj. And made my pain livable until I can get this done. I will take my kids here when they get older. I pray he's not retired by then lol. The staff up front yesterday at check out made sure I had everything I possibly needed all referrals and told me to please call today (Saturday) if I wasn't any better. They are completely booked on Saturday's. That alone goes to show how much they care as a group. If I did not see dr. Kim yesterday I wouldn't be able to function as a mom to my 3 small children that desperately need me. So thank you Dr. Kim and staff for being my saving grace every time! Sarah Reed. He could see the pain I was in. Most doctors would have said sorry wait on your surgeon to call you we can't help. But I got a shot of toridol. With this crazy pain medicine epidemic it's hard for being who live in chronic debilitating pain everyday to get help while waiting on a surgeon or physical therapist appointment to get help from your pcp. But they didn't send me away and helped me as soon as I walked in the door. The lady at checkout even asked if I needed to lay down for a little bit! Sorry to go on about how great this practice is but the previous post really upsets me and is not the case. If you need a schedule 2 medication for ADD then guess what it's FDA regulations you have to see the dr every other month. If they said you need an appointment please don't expect to show up and demand Medcine and take away from others who have scheduled appointments already for that day.
