Sensei Nick taught my boys since they were 6 years old and we have been a follower since. He has very good rapport with the little ones and firm among the teens. I was visiting Vegas from Los Angeles, and wanted to take a martial arts class to get a workout in after my arrival. Sensei Lorenzo was very communicative and his associate contacted me over the phone to sign up for a class. I don't usually practice Karate, but that's class that fit in with my schedule for that evening, and I'm glad I joined the class. They have a promotion where you get your first class free, so I didn't have to pay for the class. It was so much fun! The class was for teens and adults, and I was the only girl. It was such a good workout. Different from the workouts we do at the dojo where I practice in LA. My muscles could tell afterwards, which is a good thing. Sensei Lorenzo took the time to help the beginners in the class (me) to teach proper form and technique. He helped me use my reach to my advantage, since I have long arms, and I ended up winning a couple rounds of that game where you try to pull the other persons flags out of their belts. It was very empowering. After the class was over, I was about to call an Uber, and Sensei Lorenzo invited me to stay and learn nunchakus, as he was helping a student practice for a tournament coming up. I also learned how to break some wooden boards for the first time. It was much easier than I thought it would be. He took a video so I could post it on the gram. If you want to take martial arts arts, I think this is a good place to go. It's very clean. The sensei is great with kids, and he uplifts and encourages each student to push harder and do their best. My child had a birthday party here. The cost of the party was a little high but I was promised top quality. I requested Jayden smith Karate Kid decorations. He rushed me to make a deposit because he needed to "order the decorations". That should have been a red flag. The day of the party I was told that the lights were out on one side of the building. Only to arrive and find out there was also no air conditioning on that side of the building. They asked for the number of people that would be attending. They were given these numbers in advanced. i ended up have to rearrange and bring chairs of my own in order to accommodate everyone as the extremely small table they had set up did not accommodate all of my guests. I told him the number of pizzas that we would need for our amount of guests. He ordered half of the amount. I was extremely upset. I ended up having to leave the party to get more pizza and cold water for the guests because it was so hot. He told me that to make up for all the drama he would do some free photography's for my business and he would also take pictures of the party at no charge. Let me start my review by telling you exactly why you should check this place out. The world is scary and you never know what might happen. You can learn valuable skills here that will help you protect yourself and your family. And the biggest reason I recommend this place is because of Sensei Lorenzo. I've never met someone with as much passion for teaching others and having such care for people he just met. I can not stress enough how incredible this place is. Sensei Lorenzo is a truly amazing and caring teacher. Please if you are interested in martial arts don't be afraid to show up and talk to sensei Lorenzo. You really can start at any fitness level. I'm overweight right now! And I'm doing just fine in the classes and losing weight at a pretty good rate! Sensei Lorenzo and the other students are gentle to white belts while still teaching you what you need to learn! I found this place because of a scary encounter near my neighborhood that made me start thinking about self defense. But he wanted to make sure I learned some self defense techniques as soon as possible to make sure I would be safe. I truly feel like he cares about me not my money. My kids were part of Ageless Karate for a little over a year. My oldest started in the kids beginners class and my youngest in the little Ninja's. They both enjoyed the classes and the friends they made. They learned a lot during their time there. My youngest graduated from the little Ninja's and joined the kids beginners class at age 4. Although she is young, she was able to learn her white and red belt katas. And she was also very confident in what she did whether it was kata or kumite. My oldest was able to do a weapons class - bo staff, and take a grappling class as well during his time there. Ageless is a great school if you want your kids in Sports Karate. The Sensei's are kind and the location is convenient because it's just right off the freeway. They have classes 7 days a week. (My kids attended 3-4 times a week.) The thing we disliked about Ageless is the way the Sensei ran his business. Let's just say he's better at teaching than running the business side of his dojo. Waited over 3 months to join Ageless. The Owner was away because of a family death. We waited because we understand about family deaths.. Finally seeing movement at Ageless so we set up a time to meet with him. waited two more weeks..and even after a text verification he stood us up...we could not get him on the phone. I can assure you that I was a skeptical person, especially towards Karate, but after some self research and experience with and against Karate, it is no joke. I really enjoy bringing my daughter here. She has learned a lot in the art. I started to bring her because of her confidence which grew better with being here. Vegas has alot of school bullies as do all schools, but being here and her learning defensive skills has made those bullies to think twice ! You bring your child her to be more confident against bullies and to stand up for themselves but it's not just here it's at home also. I was hesitant in writing a negative review, because Joe seemed to be a real nice guy. Unfortunately he is a better teacher than businessman. In Jan we (family of 6) verbally agreed to join his class. He was offering a 2 for 1 special for 1 yr and we would get a free warm up out fit. But he said anything after the 4 person is free, mind you none of this is written we were not give a contract everything was still up in the air. We rush and gave him $200 and then tells us that he would need our account number so that he can take payment every 1st of the month ($300)and then another $499 for gear in 3 months. we said we would be back to discuss who would be signing up. Things didn't add up. 1- there is no morning classes(which is the only reason why I wanted to sign up and he knew that) 2- classes are not unlimited 3- never got outfits 4-sign in tags never worked He seem to preoccupied to chat at the first practice so I let it go and tried to call him before the next practice seemed his phone was disconnected. My kids (i have 4) only went to one practice and 2 wanted out , by the next practice another and the next practice I finally asked him if I could pay him cash that I was not gonna give him my account information. After about 5 mins he told me that for one kid it would go up to $169. If I remember correctly. Remember nothing is written down. incompetent, ineffective training and the instructor contradicts himself with every statement. Tells kids during class that there's some mean people out there and their not gonna go easy on you. literally says," Go, u have to fight!" during sparring. Then scolds and point deducts them for landing shots. Kid gets hit and cries, tells that kid hell be disqualified for crying but then disqualifies my kid instead.....for making them cry. My kid literally got disqualified from sparring tournament today, for first place because he fought back against a kid whos aggressively trying to hit him, while continuously throwing late punches at my kid after my kid already got the point. Then getting told by his instructor that he has to go "light". The kid was literally charging at my son with punches. Its not my kids fault that he has good technique that I taught him or that his punches have more power than his peers. Disqualified for being a good fighter in a fight. Joke. Good luck to any of his students who actually have to end up defending themselves in the street. If u want to win a tournament under this school, cry when u get hit. Easy win. Update : Also bought the identical 1st place trophy for him and labeled it, Ageless Martial Arts. 1st place. Since I believe kids should get what they've earned. Not out of pity. read more

Our two boys started this March, and we love Ageless Martial Arts. They really enjoy going to class and they really look up to Sensei Lorenzo. We are in the Excellent kids level and I can only say that his approach to teaching the youngest kids in the school is perfect. Big focus on integrating respect, discipline, and the craft it's self. The owner of this company is a very generous person. He has free night out for parents , he's having a Easter Egg hunt for kids and he donated a gift to help get children to summer camp. A great business to have in our Community. My granddaughters joined in on the free parents night out last month and had a blast. They played games , the got to break a broad with their hand and they enjoyed a pizza dinner also. All free and they do this every month. I highly recommend joining Ageless Karate. Myself and my two daughters (age 8 and 5) have signed up and have been attending classes several times a week now for the past 4 months and we couldn't be happier. Sensei Joe is an amazing teacher and a great motivator. What really sealed the deal for me was how well he connects with his students of all ages. All in all you can tell he genuinely cares for the well being of his students. The cost is reasonable and it's even better for family's. This review has been a long time coming. We have a 6 yrld girl and 4 yrld boy training with Sensei Lorenzo. He is incredible with our kids. Our son has a very hard time focusing and paying attention to just about anything. We have noticed a significant difference over the past year with his behavior at school and home after working with Sensei Lorenzo. Our daughter looks forward to class every week, practices at home and has really gained a confidence as she excels. He teaches life skills such as respect, discipline, awareness of strangers, etc. These tools alone sold us. He won't coddle your children and tell them they are fantastic regardless of how they act (in case that's what you're looking for). He commands respect and attention and will let them know when they are not giving it. This was exactly what we love about his class. Side note: His flexibility and customer service are excellent. The day before Thanksgiving he allowed not only our children, but their 7 cousins from out of town attend his class together at no additional charge. Started the glass and were paying monthly on automatic payment, he continued charging us the $150 a month during the quarantine shut down. Contacted him asking him why are you charging us when there was no classes and you were closed due to the governor's order?! He told me that he had classes online and he wouldn't refund me the months of the no class and he wouldn't stop the monthly payments either. He claimed that he called all parents to let them know about the online classes, I've never received a phone call. And Why would I pay $150 for videos? At lease give me the option don't just continue charging me for monthly payment and refuse to refund me when I ask for it. I feel he took advantage of the situation and accepted money for a service that he didn't provide. Tried to scam us to continue the monthly charges. When it's safe to resume classes again I'll be looking for another facility, someone is more professional and not try to scam us. Stay away. Definitely don't recommend to anyone. read more

I had high hopes when I started taking the kickboxing class. The first class was great. The 2nd class was good, except I could tell that Sensi was preoccupied with the day camp that was going on at the same time as the scheduled class. He said he would move the class to 8 a.m. I arrived for my 3rd class at 7:50 and he wasn't there as scheduled. His employee called him and he gave several excuses as to why he had to cancel and offered me some free lessons. However, that would not fit my schedule, and I had discussed this with him prior to signing up. Being that it is a 30 minute drive for me to attend class at Ageless Martial Arts, I didn't want to keep showing up for class only to have it cancelled. I sent a letter requesting a refund, but at this time I haven't recieved a reply. read more

Sensei Joe is a Karate-Geek, and I mean that in a very good way! He is passionate about karate and the constant improvement of his students. Our sons were practicing karate for a couple of years before joining his dojo, and their kumite skills improved by leaps and bounds within just a few months. They learned more than they ever did in the previous years. Under all the discipline, he also wants the kids to have fun. After my 2 kids took karate for almost 2 years we decided it was no longer a good fit. The kids were not inspired by the Sensei and felt favoritism for those children that were in sport karate and competing regularly, while my children were not interested at the time in pursuing that. Several times I took them to the dojo and there was no one there to teach the classes, I was wasting my time and gas money to take my kids to a class that was published. The dojo often did not have power to turn on lights or air conditioning. The cleanliness was definitely lacking by as well, my sons both were sick multiple times I believe as a result of the mats not being cleaned daily, the bottoms of their feet were black after each class. The classes were inconsistent in instruction and the white belts should've have a separate class as there were too many children that distracted from the other advanced belts learning. read more

My husband and I enrolled our sons at Ageless Karate for over a year. Sensei Joe is a great teacher. He has the capability to make you or your children medalist. At first we were very happy with sensei. As we got to know him better (on a personal level) we were finding out a lot about what is more important to him. CAUTION!! THIS SENSEI JOE WILL BLEED YOUR WALLET! We have helped him so much financially with thousands of dollars, we donated food, money, services for events he wanted to cater. It got to the point where everytime we took our sons to practice there was always something that we had to pay for or get for our sons. If you decide to travel out of state to tournaments he will try to find ways to jack up prices so the parents end up paying for his trip (room, food and airfare). We also helped to keep the dojo in business financially. We are good-hearted people that was taken advantage of from Joe. Mostly we did it for our sons and the other children there. He takes from Peter to pay Paul and gives false promises. If you do join..be sure to get receipts for equipment or gear that he wants you to pay for. We know of parents who have been waiting for 6 months after paying for equipment and still haven't received any of their orders. He is manipulative and will talk bad about you behind your back if you stop or refuse to help him. He doesn't really care about the children, only what he can get out of you financially. This sensei Joe 99% of the time shows up late for, practice, private lessons, tournaments, you name it. If he has to be there.. he will be late!! We are not telling you not to join Ageless Karate, just cautioning you on what to look forward too. We are concerned parents. read more

While Sensei Joe is a genuinely good person and has an engaging personality he lacks the business acumen to even adequately manage a school. I have 4+ years experience in Shotokan Karate and while he does have some success competing himself and training others, he does not have the discipline or maturity to consistently teach good self defense or traditional kata and technique. He uses pressure sales tactics after every class on unsuspecting parents to overcharge for things not needed because he mismanages his money. He will force you into a contract to get you to to overlook his multitude of problems. He doesn't have money to pay his power bill at all or on time so no AC in the summer or sometimes the lights are switched off. He does not pay his phone bill and does not return phone calls unless it is to recruit new students. Because he is always in debt, he constantly tries different schemes like overcharging for parties, tournaments, Gi's, bags and testing to generate additional money. Over a year and a half I had multiple issues with him not showing up to classes and having his brown belts teach, part of the time because he leaves to go to competitions. He leaves for multiple weeks at a time throughout the year yet still charges full tuition. I've seen multiple brown belts and black belts quit on him. Every class, time is wasted on basic things like lining up or simple blocks and stances because he does not stress details and he doesn't teach or demonstrate enough. He has his favorite students moving them up faster and focuses too much on belt color instead of core martial arts values and techniques. His students techniques are sloppy at the colored belt level. His retention of new students is under a year (my estimate) for the various reasons listed here. I quit practicing in the adult class because I found it a waste of time, as his girl friend at the time and him would bicker with each other and make immature unprofessional comments about other karate styles and schools. No proper curriculum. Ever class he kept strangely commenting about my age even though his school is called Ageless Karate. He once allowed an emotionally disturbed parent to threaten me making racist accusations and physically attempting to intimidate me over nothing and this parent then used multiple profane words in front of a kids class. Sensei Joe condoned and excused the behavior just because they were "buddies". I recommend you avoid for your own safety and your childs. read more
