I did this as a loop which took roughly 5 miles and had 1138 ft elevation gain. Completed in under two hours. The trail is hilly and well traveled. Tree roots stick out where many people have walked. Heading up some of the steeper slopes can also be difficult due to loose dirt. Bring good hiking shoes.

(There's also one narrower out & back off-shoot trail.) The path has a peaceful rolling feel to it, with lovely trees and the sounds of the birds. Great spot for an easy, shady neighborhood walk.

We decided to continue on from Regatta and make ourselves a loop around Spring Lake and back to the park. The trail entrance nearest the park was obvious, yet clearly not very used as it was fairly overgrown. But as we proceeded towards the back side of the small lake the trail opened a bit more. There are many options of paths that take off randomly, but we kept to the outer loop which crossed a (somewhat sturdy) bridge and into the more forested side of the lake. Once we'd rounded the water and made our way to the road side we saw the open space sign, some parking, and a more substantial trail entrance. It's not the most fabulous trail around, but it's a decent leg stretcher and a way to extend the Regatta trail if you'd like a bit more.

It doesn't get much more coastal than this region…read more We were really fortunate to visit the Oregon Coast in November on a clear Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Nothing but sunshine greeted us. No rain, fog or clouds dampened our road trip. The weather this week where we visited: Coos Bay, Florence, Newport, Yachats, Depoe Bay forecasted rain and wind with even a gale warning in some parts. The Oregon Coast is so beautiful! Thor's Well in Yachats at high tide was amazing to see. At low tide we saw some brave folks walk down towards the edge of that gaping hole. In Florence we descended down 208-ft in an elevator to the Sea Lion Caves... we didn't get a chance to see any sea lions at the time but the cave was cool to see. In Newport was where we saw sea lions bask and roll about at the docks just below Clearwater Restaurant and Port Dock One in Historic Bayfront. FREE! No matter the season, the Oregon Coast is a rejuvenating getaway. We enjoyed visiting the coastal cities, admiring lighthouses, making footprints in the sand, dining on the coast, checking out unique souvenir shops, seeing miles and miles of public coastline that continue to be free and public... captivated by the beauty of the mighty Pacific Ocean. As soon as we started the section we began noticing salamanders (I assume) slowly crossing our path about every 6 feet. They were so perfectly camouflaged amongst the wet fallen leaves we slowed to a crawl the rest of the section for fear of squishing one!! Heads up on the trail right now! I don't know if this is the only section they stick to, because for some reason we've never seen them on any other part of the trail before. We usually spot such fabulous mushrooms here, what a sweet addition to our trail sightings. Adorable!

My husband booked fat tire bikes for us to ride for the day. For some reason he thought they were…read moree-bikes, which was slightly funny at the time. They clearly expected us to last maybe 2 hours tops. They gave us good direction as far as where to ride and where on the sand to stay. They gave us one bike with an adjustable seat, and one that was not adjustable. They adjusted it to fit my son, but didn't tighten it enough to keep it in place. By the time we got to the beach it was all the way down with no way to fix it. It was a very windy day, which is part of the beach experience, but it was much harder given that we are tall and the bike was too small. I felt like we were not given all the information we needed. I would not rent the bikes again.

The fries are always a big hit, wish they had a buffet, we typically come here for the grill or crispy sandwich or halibut sandwich. This particular day my halibut was two small strips! Not too happy about it, usually it's a fillet. I'll still come back, won't order the fish no more since the cook got Shiesty with my fish! Giving them 4 stars for good service! I will come back, I recommend the chicken sandwich. For being a casino I feel that this place can step up their game in the menu. Just my opinion.. Great view on both locations!

We have been coming to this casino for many years, and have watched it sink slowly into the sunset…read moreduring that time. What was once a nice place to visit, dine and game has become a (barely) second-rate, money-grubbing also ran of a casino. We visited tonight for the first time in over a year. the all-you-can-eat buffet is gone, replaced by a mediocre "restaurant" serving equally mediocre food at more-than-mediocre prices, with a twin "snack bar downstairs. We walked in, prepared to enjoy ourselves for an hour or two, knowing that it would probably cost us $100 each. We left, disgusted, after 20 minutes. The games are now, for the most part, a minimum of $1.00 per spin, and the machines are so tight you can almost hear them squeak as they take your money. They could have saved a lot of time if they had just met you at the door with guns drawn, demanding your cash, or simply install a siphon direct from your wallet to their bank account. As we left, disgusted at the LOUSY rate of payout, the one-sided nature of the experience (after all, the word "gambling" carries the connotation that you at least have a CHANCE of winning SOMEtime!), I suddenly became aware of the relative silence - that I had not heard any winners celebrating, nor any machines announcing a big win during our entire visit. I think we will take our gaming elsewhere. This casino is a no-win proposition!
