The real problem - which I figured out months later after ineffective treatment - was that I was wearing abrasive boxers and with my coarse leg hair, this was causing my skin to get irritated. The remedy was salicylic acid and new boxers. I am not sure why there isn't cross-cultural training at Advanced Dermatology, but this definitely isn't a place I will return if I have issues or questions in the future. They are not likely to know the correct answers.

I was billed for the procedure, granted it was not a lot but the principal of it. When I called to discuss with the billing dept., it was to say the least frustrating. When I told them the doc did not do the procedure, that he left the room and a girl came in to do it, she says "I don't know who that could have been", as if I made it up. I did NOT come up with what I was told and was made to feel as if I just wanted out of a bill - NOT the case. Next time (not at this office though) I will get what someone tells me in writing and will not leave until everyone if aware of what is expected for billing. I can no longer recommend this facility. They used to be good but feel they have lost touch with caring for their patients. Growing too big is a thing.....

Several family members have skin cancer on both sides of our family. The appointment was made. We parked, and found the office. After checking in,we had a seat. We didn't have to wait long. We were taken back to the exam room. We were told to change into a hospital gow, leaving only our underwear on. It was all very respectful. We decided to have the exam together. After over 15 years of marriage, nothing is a secret. It's up to you. The nurse practioner came in. She asked a few questions, and proceeded with the exam. She used a special instrument to exam our skin, from head(scalp,), down to toes. The front mid torso area was covered and left alone. The exam was simple. Easy peasy. Thankfully nothing was found. We discussed sun screens for the body, as well as for the face, how often to apply, etc. Before I knew it,the exam was over, nothing to worry about. It was recommended that we return in 1-2 years. They have great doctors. The office is clean and relaxing. It's not too bad to get to, but expect to walk after parking your car. There are tons of medical offices, etc, on the Anschutz Medical Center campus. I highly recommend this office, as well as a skin cancer screening, if you can do it. Take care, and don't forget the sun screen.

After checking they informed me that the cosmetologist is running late and asked if I want to wait another 10 minutes. I didn't because I would be late for work and unlike staff at Advanced Dermatology try to be at work on time. I really wanted my skin to look good for a wedding but have no choice now but to pile makeup on my face.

I'm sure they have…read moreother strengths but based on my experience as well my daughter's experience in the last few months, they have missed or mis-diagnosed skin cancer and/or pre-skin cancer on 2 out of 2 people for 2 out of 2 visits. That's flat out scary. We both went for 2nd opinions and both of those appointments revealed the fact that spots Cara Mia missed or mis-diagnosed were cancer or pre-cancer as well as some spots Cara Mia wanted to biopsy, were nothing to worry about, for both of us. And on top of that, within minutes of the start of the exam, the Cara Mia started freezing off 7 spots that who knows if they were pre-cancer or not. It felt like there was a lot of up-selling happening but I can't be positive, just my hunch. But most importantly to miss skin cancer is just dangerous on their part.
