We drove two hours one way to receive the hood for the stove; nothing else. Sorry, backordered! We we were told the refrigerator would be in on the 21st and they would call 25 before delivery. Another 4 hours wasted! No fridge and possibility of it taking another week. Don't do it! Save your money and time! Wish I could give Agren's zero for stars. I have purchased 2 washers, 2 dryers, 2 refrigerators and a dishwasher from Agren over the past 10 years. The service used to be great. It is now the WORST in the area. Rude, Rude, Rude sales people. The owner now records phone calls for service. The poor call center workers are an unfortunate buffer for the owner. I waited hours on hold. The call person tried to convince me that I bought my very expensive refrigerator elsewhere (even though I had the receipt and invoice). They wanted to charge $25 to hold an appointment. $405 for the basic service visit, not including parking and boat ticket. I live on Peaks Island, an easy 18 minute ride from Portland. This is unheard of! They begrudgingly offered me an appointment for 2 weeks out. I even offered to buy a replacement refrigerator if they could deliver it more quickly. Their response was, "Sorry, we are booking out with our big sale happening." How about taking care of your faithful customers? So much for supporting a local family business. I went to Lowe's. I purchased all the appliances for my home from Agren's including two LG washers. I chose the washers based on the features shown on the front panel and the deep drum. I was completely misrepresented by Agren's sales person. I was never informed that the two washers were cold water only. Even though the panel indicates a hot water setting and had a hot water valve on the back of the machine. They basically told me tough shit. I'm now stuck with two washers I loathe. If you ask me this way of doing business is criminal. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM AGREN's. They are no better than a big box store. read more

I splurged on a very nice GE Cafe refrigerator freezer from Agren. I probably got more than I needed. The two guys who delivered it could not install one of the drawers that go in the freezer. They did not know how to do it. They left it in my hallway, where it's an eyesore. Then another guy came a week later supposedly to fix it, and he realized he needed wheels for the drawer but he did not have them. Supposedly they ordered these wheels a month ago and I have heard nothing. Plus, it is very inconvenient for me to have these service appointments, because you have to be there for a four hour window and I'm usually not at home for four hours at a time. I made the mistake of using Agren during my once in a lifetime kitchen renovation. I ordered all Bosch appliances including stove, stove hood, refrigerator, microwave, and washer/dryer. My range hood cover was delivered with a large scratch on the front- right at eye level AND in a spot where I would see it every single day I am now on the 4th one as each has come in damaged. Upon returning he last one, the store manager in Saco questioned if everything else in the kitchen was perfect. He was suggesting that I was asking too much to have a product delivered in perfect condition!?!? Who says something like this to a paying customer? Apparently Agren. I've let some time go by before writing this review. I was recommended this place by some neighbors. The appliances I purchased a few months ago (a dishwasher and a fridge) are holding up fine. The showroom is large and I was greeted quickly by James. Everyone else was silent, so I wonder if they "take turns" with customers walking through the door. In any case he was really friendly and patient with me, answered questions, and did not ever try to upsell me on anything, and was honest about models in/out of stock and the delays due to the supply chain. The appliances were delivered on different days. The two guys that brought the fridge apparently had a rough day and were delayed by a few hours. When they were removing my old fridge they yanked out the water line that was going to the drink dispenser without turning the water off and water momentarily sprayed everywhere. When they finally got the fridge inside they did NOT install the water line claiming "I feel uncomfortable installing this line to this attachment, [something about the connectors under the sink being complicated]." so they literally just left it unfinished. Fortunately, Andy (who delivered and installed the dishwasher a week later), took a look and after I mentioned it to him suggested "it doesn't look that hard, I can guarantee you they just didn't want to do it." but he went above and beyond by personally coming back a couple days later with the appropriate parts and hooked everything up for me in minutes. I'd love to give him five stars just for his effort alone. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with the appliances. Based on the lax fridge guys and based on other reviews it seems like a headache. I have no other appliance stores to compare this experience to, but I imagine it is average. read more

I have an income property in Augusta that I purchased 4 years ago. A 100+ year old Victorian that was for many decades had been used as a business. Due to covid Augusta didn't need office space but residential, so we converted back to residential. In doing this we purchased all appliances for 2 units. Washer/dryer, stove, dishwasher for each unit all at once. In the past 4 years the company we bought it from was purchased by Agrens. We only just found this out as we tried to get service on the fridge in one unit. This fridge just stopped keeping things frozen for my tenant. In calling the company I purchased ALL the appliances from it went straight to Agrens customer service. I requested a call back which came the next day. She asked me to provide her with serial number, I sent her the first thing I could find. She said she would do some research and get back to me before noon same day to find out if it was still under warranty. I get a text about an hour later saying we have you scheduled 2 weeks from now. This is not soon enough as my tenant has a sick child and needs her medication refrigerated. Before I get a chance to respond that I need something sooner she sends another text message that the document i sent was just an estimate and not proof of purchase and cancels appointment. Stating it's their busy season and they are unable to help. I asked that she call me ASAP 1 so I could show her the proof of purchase she needed and 2 so I could get estimate on repairs as if it's not covered it's not covered as much as Im not crazy about paying for repairs on a 4 year old refrigerator. I do understand if it's not 'covered' no response as of this writing. If you made it this far I hope you agree with me to NEVER do business with Agrens again and tell everyone you know. We bought an entire kitchen worth of Thermador appliances less than two years ago. Our freezer stopped working and Agren said it would take weeks to get a tech to us. So we waited. The morning of the appointment they called to say their repair tech was out. I guess there's like one tech for all of Maine given that they then said the soonest they could reschedule was a full month out. WTF? Six weeks to repair a freezer and this over-scheduling has taken them by surprise? And what kind of system is it that you get no credit for waiting for weeks, but instead are moved to the back of the line? Give me a break. The issue here seems to be incompetence at staffing or, I suppose, crappy appliances that are all breaking down. Either or both are a very bad look for this business. So Eric Agren, if you are listening, you own this and it is not the kind of situation that will make any customer eager to buy from your stores again. read more

We bought a refrigerator 7 years ago and the door came damaged. That was ok we got that fixed, but the ice machine didn't work. They came to fix it and it still didn't Work. We just started buying ice and put it in the ice drawer. Years later we decided to get it repaired . I called and scheduled an appointment. They showed up and they said we needed a new filter for the ice machine to work. Thing is we had to order them. When that didn't work we called back and they sent another service person. Guess what he said when he showed up....oh the ice machine is broken, I KNOW THAT ITS WHY WE CALLED. He had to order a new part. When he was scheduled to come, they called to say they needed to reschedule because the van broke down. Well I guess I didn't know they only had 1 Van. They eventually fixed it. A YEAR LATER... the ice maker fell down in the ice drawer and we can't open it. I called and scheduled another service appointment. We sat around for 2 hours only to get a call to say their service technician called out. You can't make this up. For them to claim to have the best service around is a joke! We fixed it ourselves and we'll never buy another thing from them. We bought a different appliance from Central Appliance in Sanford and their team from sales to service is fabulous! That would be my recommendation don't buy from Agrens! Go to Central Appliance and save yourselves a lot of time and money! read more

I have purchased many appliances over the years from Agren however never again. My last purchase was a Frididaire refrigerator for one of my apartments approximately six months ago. Already stopped cooling. On July 24th I called Agren to request service so my tenant can have fresh food in their new refrigerator again! Was told soonest they could get a technician would be August 5th! This proved to me that buying from a local company rather than a big box store does not offer any benefit if service is ever needed. PSA...DO NOT buy an appliance from Agren Appliance. I've had nothing but issues in the 16months I've owned my washer/dryer. The washer had destroyed a nighty, satin pillowcase and now a fitted sheet. After calling for service only 2 months after delivery, they refused to send someone bc the machine was still working properly. Even though it was still under warranty AND has an added 5yr extended warranty. My nighty straps are somewhere in the machine still. I called again in Aug 2023, left a message and never got a return call. I had to go buy tools to see if I could take the machine apart myself to get the rest of the pillowcase out. I could not do it but I got it out damn it! Now, I'm really fed up. I shouldn't have to put all my items in a zippered pillowcase so this doesn't happen. A text today from Agren says they can't come until Nov 1....seriously??? I called GE for assistance but they don't have anyone that does service in this area????? My name is Henry DuBois and I live in Limington. My wife and I purchased a washer/dryer stackable unit on June 29th. The products were delivered on July14th and installed July 22. The washer worked for a few months and then quit. We checked all the connections and everything checked out ok. We called the service in August and were given a date of November 9th for a repair. The repairman inspected the machine and determined that it need a control panel and a communication control. He called in the problem from our home on the 9th. We have been patiently waiting for word about a repair/replacement and were just notified that we are scheduled for December 18. This is unacceptable! By the time the washer gets repaired we will have gone without it for almost three months. We chose Agren because they have their own repair people but that didn't do us much good. So our new refrigerator was installed improperly and has sprung a leak, actually it was leaking before the installers were out of the driveway. Our first attempt to reach service resulted in a missed call. Repeated follows ups went right to voicemail. When my wife finally reached the operator she was told it was not possible to speak directly with service. All calls are taken in order of messages left and new calls put the customer back at the end of the list. What a piss poor system. Miss their call and you have to start the process over. As if no one else in the world has things to do. I can't imagine a less customer focused way of doing business. We would have been better off shopping at the big box stores had we known how unresponsive the service department was. We purchased a refrigerator and stove almost two weeks ago from the Agrens in Auburn. At the time, we told the salesperson that we can only accept an early morning delivery and couldn't purchase the appliances if this need couldn't be accommodated. It was scheduled for delivery early this week but the refrigerator was not on the truck since it was, apparently, damaged. However, the refrigerator is now back ordered. We need the refrigerator because we are scheduled for Realtor photos very soon. The sales person hemmed and hawed and finally agreed to a a replacement refrigerator but the delivery time was noon. When I complained, he actually said" How I am suppose to remember from a few weeks ago?" and refused to change the delivery time. I cancelled the order and will never shop at Agrens again. I have bought multiple appliances from Agren's Saco in the past and have found the service staff who come to your home to be very helpful. My beef is the lack of flexibility in delivery in the southern Maine area. As a single mom with two jobs, the lack of Saturday delivery and ANY OTHER DAY other than Tuesday is a really big problem. The sales staff basically told me there was nothing they could do.. and that there was no flexibility. They suggested I have someone be at home FOR ME. Perhaps they want to continue to cater to families where at least one person can either take off work or is a work at home person--- but that will seriously limit their customer base. I went to Central Appliance in Sanford who was happy to accommodate my delivery needs for the same price. read more

Had a 5 month long negative experience replacing a 60" range. Had to pay in full up front leaving me no leverage. Paid extra to have it painted and they only painted the front of the range. The back guard and shelf arrived scratched and gouged. They did sent a new back, but was for a different stove. When gas co came to hook it up they discovered a faulty valve stem. Waited another month for tech to come only to find he didn't have the part with him. Waited 3 more weeks for it to finally be working. My only complaint now is the convection fan rattles pretty loud. read more

Then they said they don't have a service tech for another month. It's been 5 months now with multiple issues, and they won't just exchange the dishwasher. I see small claims court in their future.
