Because we are stereotypical tourists, we ordered the Inglese pizza on our first night. The pizza was phenomenal. It was one of the best pizzas I had in Italy. So okay - that's not what made the night great (great food is a great start). The capstone to a great experience is fantastic service. The staff was funny, friendly, and made sure we had a wonderful time. Naturally we made the death-defying trek back to the restaurant the next day and had an even better time. That night we had the Foie Gras, which tasted good (I can't benchmark it against other foie gras - it was the first I had). They paired it with a horseradish-pear chutney and bruschetta (I'm probably not doing it enough justice) and it had a nice subtle taste. We again had pizza because we're unoriginal - this time a Margherita and Salami pizza. These were great, but not as good as the Inglese. The staff remembered us and took care of us the entire night. It was one of the most memorable experiences we had in Italy - we had a wonderful time. If I get enough money to return to Lake Como we'll go back. For the cooking class, he taught us how to prepare: fresh pesto, handmade pasta (tagliatelle), branzzino, calamari, bruschetta, mussels and clams, and a beautiful chocolate cake.
