Nicely shaded trees. There is a public pool, but it happened to be closed on the day of our event. Great place to chill, have a picnic with friends and family. And nowadays, there is little reminder of that tragic event in 2018.

I went there this morning and ran into a lifeguard that said they don't open until 2pm! I think it's because they are short staffed so the hours reflect this. The parking is all gravel and the outside looks worn but the pool looked very clean ! I am not sure if I will be able to swim here since I like to do laps in the morning! It's a good outlet for kids to enjoy during the hot months!

I can tell you that my experience there as a camp aid back in 1986 was amazing and unforgettable. It is an international camp. So I got to meet and work with many campers from all over the world. I did things that I never thought I'd ever get to do, waterskiing for one. I learned to ride a horsey and camp out at some amazing locations with scenery that would reset your soul for enlightenment.

Poor character. Bad manners. Rude people. Bullies. Chico Sports Club is a poorly-owned and poorly-managed gym. Not sure why Chico Sports club cares what my email handle is. Also no threats were made, no intimidation, so that is a defamatory statement by Chico Sports Club, and they are subject to a lawsuit over making false statements in response to a review. And I have every right to say a business is disrespectful if they are disrespectful. That's called freedom of speech, and as a veteran of the Armed Forces, I will use my 1st Amendment Right to call out disrespectful businesses. Don't ever give these people a cent. They are unsound. My review was well-written and objective. Chico Sports Club's response was unhinged, insulting, and defensive of their bad behavior. The front desk staff and personal trainers are the only reason why this place is still in business. It certainly isn't because it is being run by a competent owner or managers. Every time I went, at least one machine I wanted to use was out of use, often times for long periods. Days, sometimes a week or more. Sometimes weeks. The steam room had issues on a few occasions. The banister in the exercise pool was broken for a long period of time. The main lap pool is shared with various groups, so the few lanes that are available, are being rented out to outside groups every day for several hours a day. They leave one or two lanes for the members I think. But that's not a lot when you have regular gym members using the pool and outside groups splitting about six lanes. The pool itself is in terrible condition. I don't think it's ever been redone. I often found things like bandaids, large bugs of various kinds, cement chips from the pool bottom. Etc. And, if you pushback against Chico Sports Club raising member prices and fees, they cancel your membership and blacklist you. Doesn't matter if you're a disabled veteran. Another 1st Class business in Chico. Chico Sports Club is disrespectful to disabled veterans.

If you love animals this is a good neighborhood for you. Lots of deer, raccoons, opossums and coyotes. The deer will come right up on the patio to lay in the shade or eat my cat's food. There is an POA/HOA so there are rules, but most of them make sense, like keep grass down to prevent fires. The drive up and down Lake California Road is only about 5-6 miles and I use it to relax and change gears. Redding is roughly 10 miles away which separates L.C. from the craziness of the city. Overall a nice place to live!!

Lots of planned weekly activities occur at the clubhouse, that overhangs the lake. The club house has deck views of surrounding Cattle ranches, orchards, farms and the peaks of Lassen National Park. $2.00 drinks at the bar makes for a great place to meet neighbors and chat. Mini-market, and Lakeside Pizza ( and bakery) are inside the community. Good local schools, and a historic downtown in adjacent Cottonwood. Historic Cottonwood features darling antique shops, family restaurants, financial services, appliances, beauty parlors, and a great grocery store. And the locally famous OK Corral has weekend music. More Cows, horses and deer in the area than people. 15 minutes to Red Bluff, or Redding. A super Walmart, and Factory Outlet mall 8 miles away with a great Movie theatre.

It is also known as the YMCA of Grass Valley. I am in heaven! Plenty of lanes to swim laps and then another pool that is shallower for kids or possibly disabled individuals. I swam this morning...pool was clean and I had my own lane! They provide kickboards and other stuff for your workout. They have outdoor showers and a brand new locker room with private showers...you can use the lockers to store your stuff or place them on the concrete bench when you are swimming. They also have a changing area and bathrooms. Times vary...and prices too. I swam for 5 bucks today ( 3 bucks if you are a senior). Open year round and pool is heated! You can also walk in the pool if you are not a lap swimmer. Lifeguards are on duty. Totally joining today! Ps. COLLIN at the front desk was helpful.

In the early 1900s, Clarks Hole (also called Clarks Pool) was managed by the City of Auburn as a municipal swimming pool. Today, it is popular with Auburn locals for picnics and swim parties, especially on a hot days! No lifeguards. Please be careful!
