My wife found Doctor Julie Brown and my daughter began vestibular therapy with her--essentially recalibrating her senses and nervous system. This type of therapy was recommended by my daughter's regular neurosurgeon and cardiologist, though they didn't offer any recommendations for therapists. Thank goodness my wife found Doctor Brown! My daughter immediately improved with each session. At times we would wheel her in in a wheelchair, and she would walk out...or even dance out! At first the effects lasted only a day or so. We took her to four appointments a week, and after a while the benefit seemed to "stick." She could get out of bed 3-4 hours a day, and now is up to 5-6 hours a day. POTS can improve (or degenerate) on its own but I am convinced this vestibular therapy has made a significant contribution to my daughter's health. She rode a bicycle the other day for the first time in nearly a year. Dr. Brown has also been amazingly accommodating and caring when my daughter was too ill to make the appointments and so forth.

He was very compassionate to both myself and my husband, who had consulted him for late stage cancer last year. I never had any results from the acupuncture (but I've since had great results at a different acupuncturist) - I think it's a combination of very short treatment sessions, no heat lamps / cold office, and associates (not the doctor) do the acupuncture. For example, once the doctor seemed to try to correct his associate for doing the wrong point but didn't want me to realize. The doctor would frequently tell me horror stories about other people with my condition, which was really unhelpful and unprofessional. I tried getting a superbill from them and they initially refused saying I needed to come for 8 visits before they'll give me one and tried pushing me to speak with the doctor about it. Yet another sales tactic. I finally got my superbill after calling 5+ times. Just some things I wish I'd known before visiting!

I believe hormonal changes triggered it, but my face, hands, and fingers became allergic to almost everything. My skin was constantly itchy, inflamed, and uncomfortable. I couldn't wear makeup or lipstick without irritation, and even basic products caused reactions. After my second child was born, the condition became much worse. I developed full-blown dermatitis on all my fingers. I saw multiple dermatologists and tried changing shampoos, soaps, and products, but nothing helped. I was even allergic to hand sanitizers -- which made daily life during COVID incredibly difficult. My fingers were painfully itchy, blistered, and cracked.
