I got charged $250 to paint the entire unit, when the only time I touched the walls was using a few thumbtacks and painter's nails. When requests are made for cleaning, it is nearly impossible to tell if anything is done. Buildings are allowed to turn to shambles, as boards remain broken, unpainted, etc. Moreover, they continually raise rents and nickel and dime for basic services (water, garbage, rent payment portal fees) and say they are not responsible for plumbing issues. I have been with Fischer Realty for eight years; six years at my current location. It started with the bathtub leaking in the first year. It still leaks into the basement today and for some reason they do not know how to fix it and will not call a plumber. Two years ago they just stopped trying to do anything with the tub. In 2011 I complained that there was water coming in from the roof. They told me that it was from the storm. I stated that if that is the case you will need new insulation. It wasn't until I had mold growing on multiple walls, water damage on the ceilings, paint cracking, me expressing my tenant rights and calling the Department of Health Services did they do something. Come to find out the roof was faulty with gaps where water could come in, insulation was completely destroyed. They had to blow 20 bags of insulation in the attic and fix the roof. Yesterday, I received a notice that they will not be renewing my lease. $63,720 I have paid them to do nothing but keep things working and hold tenancy and they retaliate by not renewing my lease just when I start getting things done which is very illegal. Check your landlords and know your rights as a tenant. Above all, avoid this company like the plague.
