Before you rent from Prosper make sure you physically go and inspect the actual apt. My apt is current listed for rent. 2803 Western Ave Apt 8 EC WI. What you see have been spruced up by AI. There are no cute lights hanging from roof, no potted plants and I do not have bikes as shown in pic. But most of all, go see the actual inside. Do not rely on pics of recently remodeled units as my unit needs a lot of upgrading and repairs as I have lived here for almost 16 years. Smelly, gross carpet, large hole in tile in bathroom with rotting floor boards ect. And be sure that all of the promised updated are done before moving in. Read all reviews. ​I did post a on their site and their reply regarding maintenance was they repaired furnace, pipes, appliance, water backup. Their solution to furnace was to turn up the pilot until it was so high it sounded like a freight train. Professional furnace company called in and furnace was so clogged with soot due to no maintaince by owner. Refridgerator broke down due to age and all food spoiled with prosper refused to compensate for. Pipe burst in basement due to corrosion. Looked like swiss cheese. Water back up due to next door neighbor putting something down drain clogging pipe. As far as charging for maintenance, I put in maintenance request to paint empty second room and advised by Josh to put in request. Then sent nasty text that from another employee that they would not be painting unless I agreed to an increase of $25 per month to cover cost. That it was common practice to increase rent to cover maintenance. I have saved text just in case ever needed. They said they were denied access at times due to working from home and pet. Never happened. All i ever asked was to let me know when they were coming so i could unlock door and to be careful my cat didnt get out. All in all 15+ years of paying rent and feel all repairs request and needed were due to age of unit and just got tired of being denied. So moving so i dont have to smell the extremely smelly carpet on stairs and landing, fraying carpet, large hole in bathroom linoleum with smelly rotten wood flooring showing and suspected mold problem in walls. ​ read more
