The District is an outdoor mall area that has a number of smaller shops, eateries and a Harkins Theatre. I live just miles from this area and make several stops here each week. I mostly come here to go to the movies or to the bookstore. Coming to Tempe Marketplace makes for a nice day and I enjoy all of the services that they have to offer. One of my favorite things about the District area is that they will decorate for the holidays. During Christmas, they will set up a very large Christmas tree and hang lights up all over the walking areas. They have showcased art exhibits like floating umbrellas during the summer months to draw in people. The District also has a stage where they will have live music and at times will host concerts. There are splash pads for the kids to enjoy when it gets hot out and fireplaces for the colder evenings. I have even done a one mile Kilt run through the District. It is nice that going to the mall has evolved to more than just shopping and has lots more to offer.

Otherwise, I found myself visiting the shopping center yesterday when I stopped by Sole Sports. I finally had a chance to look around the shops when I was there and found some great restaurants that I have heard of along with stores that would be fun to shop in when I have some more time. Besides restaurants, there are services, boutiques, and cafes which cater to an affluent local demographic with upscale dining and convenient services in a strip mall setting. The key tenants include Ruth's Chris Steak House (which I've been to before), Alma, Starbucks, The Yard Gym, and Massage Envy. Other restaurants include Wildflower, Terroir Wine Pub, Pubblico Italian Eatery. Asadero Cocina + Cantina, and City Market Deli & Catering. Other shops and services include Nekter Juice Bar, Chico's, Patrick James, The Linen Tree, and Orange Theory. There's something for everyone! It's also in a great location on Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend. It's right across the street from the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, which is a fun place for kids, families, and even for just the random person who enjoys trains. Think Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory! It's also a short drive to Old Town Scottsdale or the Scottsdale Quarter or Kierland. The shops and restaurants are worth a visit!

It easily causes much frustration and could use an investment of funds to make the flow better. I imagine that there are multiple accidents. Though, I can only complain so much since parking is free. Other areas charge for parking or have packing structures, so at least you aren't dealing with that. Despite the parking lot frustration, I find myself frequenting multiple businesses whether on the East side or the West side of the shopping center. The East side doesn't have as many places I frequent, but there is Village Inn as well as In n Out that I periodically pop in to. About once a year, I'll see a movie at AMC as I can never seem to justify the price to see a movie out. Check out this shopping center for good service and selection whether at a chain business or a family owned business. Prices at various locations seem similar to other shopping centers.

At…read moretimes, there can be lots of cars parked here and drivers are not paying attention to what they are doing. I've almost been hit a few times in the lot. However, the stores here are pretty decent. I've never had too many issues with any of the stores here.
