Iconoglace absolutely deserves the hype…read more The menu is a little overwhelming if you don't speak French, but once you figure it out, there are a ton of unique creations you won't find at a typical ice cream shop. We ordered the L'Ouragan du Sundae. It's vanilla soft serve with lemon curd, olive oil, homemade shortbread, and raspberry compote. I honestly couldn't taste the raspberry, but everything else worked incredibly well together. The lemon kept it bright, the olive oil added a subtle richness, and the shortbread brought a great buttery crunch. It felt more like a thoughtfully composed dessert than just ice cream with toppings. The real star is the soft serve itself. It's ridiculously smooth and creamy. My girlfriend isn't a big dessert person and doesn't like things that are too sweet. After one bite she looked at me and said, "This is the best ice cream I've ever put in my mouth." That's probably the strongest review I can give. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and I'd happily wait in line again. If you're visiting Montreal, I'd put this near the top of the dessert list. Easy 5/5.

The October weather in Montreal could not deter me from ice cream. While I did not have this place…read moreon my radar to try while in the city, we were on a food tour and this was one of the stops. That being said, I was looking forward to some sweet. Our guide explained that Iconoglace is one of the more popular ice cream shops in the city, and that they specialize in vegan varieties with a rotating menu. While I noticed several items on the menu, we were given a choice of three of their soft serve combinations they had for the day. I decided on the raspberry and pistachio which was really good. It had a subtle flavor which was perfect as I wasn't looking for anything too overwhelming - I'm also pretty sure this was one of their vegan flavors which is a plus in case you're dairy intolerant. Overall, while I don't feel I explored a lot of their menu, I was impressed with what little I had here. There are many ice cream shops in Montreal, but I would definitely put this on my radar for a return visit.

Really enjoyed coming here. A surprise find in the Complexe Desjardins located near the McDonalds,…read moreit's off the beaten path from inside the complex but worth searching out. Even though it was cold, we still stopped in for ice cream and the ice cream was terrific. A different take on a sundae with a hard chocolate shell, that shell is nearly impenetrable (even the thin layer) but was so good even by itself. And good ice cream too. Come and stop in! FOOD: The chocolates were good but not the best. See's Candies in California is so much better for flavor and variety. But we did love the look of them and the options they offered. The ice cream though is next level. Never had anything like it with that hardened chocolate shell. And even though it was tough to get through, it was delicious. I couldn't finish even a small one! So don't go too big unless you're sharing. SERVICE: Everyone was super nice and the portions were HUGE. Definitely they do it right here. COST: The chocolates were too expensive but the ice cream was a bargain! Definitely would go back if I'm in Montreal.

I placed my order at the kiosk, then walked over to the left side of the store where there were large vats of melted chocolate, with flavors such as cookies and cream, hazelnut, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and red velvet. Since Easter is approaching, the store had adorable Easter-themed chocolates for sale.
