Bilboquet is quite a trek from downtown Montreal at 9pm on a Sunday night and you're taking public transport... nestled along a tree-lined street in a very residential neighborhood, it came highly recommended by co-diner at Le Petit Moulinsart. It is one of those utterly charming stores--painted in a vibrant but soothing colours of white and aqua, high-ceilinged, decorated with all sorts of charming tsotskes and illustrations, full of that wonderful smell of sweet and cooking waffle. Unfortunately, their ice cream is not great -- the pistachio I chose tasted a bit too artificial; the boy's chocolate and coffee only somewhat better. San Francisco's Bi-Rite & Humphry Slocombe have ruined us.

Good place for ice cream. It's next to my house so i've been a few times. Love their mango sorbet.

A lil pricey but delicious and fresh, perfect for a summer night or day. Raspberry flavour is my personal favourite!

The atmosphere and location are great, but the ice cream itself is really nothing special. I've had better... from the gorcery store...

The price is totally worth it with all of the toppings (red bean, mochi, kinako, matcha brownie, Rice Krispies). It's comparable to matcha maiko in the states, but much more reasonably priced.

It looked cute, so I was glad to sample some of their offerings. From what I can gather, Kem CoBa specializes in specialty ice cream and sorbet flavors, though they also have a small selection of pastries as well. Specifically, they have unique flavor combinations that I had not seen elsewhere. We did not get to choose our flavor during our visit, which was okay as we got one that was quite tasty: raspberry lychee swirled with rose. I was a little hesitant about the rose at first but it wasn't overly floral and paired well with the sweetness of the raspberry. The ice cream was soft serve, and was super smooth. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with Kem CoBa. The ice cream was smooth and tasty, and the offer a product that is not typically seen in other ice cream parlors. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
