She was able to magically sweep my 5-year-old daughter away into a fairytale land where she imagined all of her favorite things and learned proper ballet techniques, strengthened and stretched her body, and had fun dancing with her friends. She loved it so much, we wished it was more than once a week and didn't stop for summer break. Something I would like to see more of is the teaching of short dance routines after all of the typical exercises they do. One thing that many of the parents were dissatisfied with was how often there was a substitute teacher, and the general lack of communication there was regarding class schedules and offerings from the office. I hope this review will help you in deciding which program to put your child in, and will provide the school some insite into our experience. Eventually I switched to her Tuesday night class because it's year round and there's no gap between sessions. Even then, I found myself looking forward to Tuesdays so much, I rejoined Monday nights as well. Both classes are full of all ages and ability levels. Leela starts off slow teaching the techniques and moves, gradually working up to speed and putting it to music. By the end of class, everyone is doing the choreography. Leela makes class so much fun. We dress up and take pictures to celebrate holidays. Be sure to let them know when your birthday is because we love celebrating birthdays each month. Everyone has been so welcoming. I've made so many amazing friends through Leela's Bellydance that I probably would never have come across in my normal day to day routine. We have taken ballroom dance classes with Tony at CCLCF for two years and feel very confident that we can dance when we go to parties or other public events. Tony teaches a single dance in each 6-8 week session, so you develop a strong "muscle memory" for the dance by adding a new step each week. It's much more effective than other dance schools that try to teach multiple dances for a shorter time every week. Definitely recommend Tony's ballroom dance classes!
