The greeting I received the several times I went in prior to setting up an account was generally quite nice. I was pleased with the process of setting up my account. I also like that they are a family owned bank and make a strong effort to invest in the local community. Yet, the choice to leave was also made pretty easy. I strongly believe that it is inappropriate for a place of business to impose political beliefs upon employees and clients unless they are clear and explicit about these values in stating who they are. Television stations such as MSNBC and Fox News are highly partisan TV shows, and arguably as much of political commentary from a specific political persuasion as news. Bipartisan reviews consistently show that these news sources are less accurate than other news sources, which also are not perfect, but do provide closer to a balanced political viewpoints. I stopped into this bank a couple of times before opening an account and they had the television on, but the shows were more entertainments shows. However, the first time I stopped in after opening my account one of the highly partisan news channels was on the television. As I was leaving another bank of the same reason, in retrospect, I should have asked about this in advance. I spoke with a manager expressing my concern about this. We are living in a time when our country is very divided and hurting from these divisions. It is important that we focus on healing these divisions. I was clear in stating that I would be concerned if MSNBC or Fox News was on. My concern is not that the values are different than my own, but that through the business they are promoting a particular political perspective. I assume most banks have different values than mine, and that most banks will represent different political beliefs than mine. This does not bother me and I would not leave a bank because of this. But when using the workplace to promote specific political values, even if they agree with my own, I will leave the bank. When I spoke with a manager I was told that this likely would not change because "the branch manager likes it." This says a lot. In this response, it appears I was being told that the branch manager's television preferences is more important than the customers comfort. There are many television options, even various television news options. No option will please everyone, but there are options that are more neutral and less likely to offend. However, even the offending people is less of a concern than the pushing a particular political perspective. I recognize that few people will be very concerned about this issue, and many may agree with political viewpoint being pushed by the bank. But even if you agree with the bank, do you think it is appropriate to use this setting to push one's beliefs? If not, I hope you will let the bank know. We need to work toward healing in this country. We need open minded dialogues about differences of opinions and we need to work to deepen our respect for differences. This won't happen when the news sources we choose are polarized ones that primarily give one perspective on the issue. Since the original review, I have also experienced quite a bit of trouble getting my online banking set up. I kept getting directed to different places, each seeming to blame the other for the problem. It took 7 phone calls over 2-weeks to get online banking set up.

Allstate Wermers canceled my insurance policy due to a crumbling driveway. I provided the home…read moreinspection report and the appraisal to Allstate Wermers BEFORE they issued the policy in the first place. The cancellation notice came in the mail about 30 days after the purchase of the policy, and due to the terrible service and inconvenience, I didn't bother to negotiate with them. The agent who sold me the policy first recommended I reconsider changing my auto insurance provider to Allstate, to see if the underwriters would consider "waving" the need to replace the driveway. They wasted my time and proved to be a huge inconvenience. I provided a version of the note below to the owners of Allstate Wermers. They responded apologizing for the situation, which they credited to a workflow or system issue within their business. They also offered a chance to "remedy" my situation, but I was seriously concerned with the internal disconnect in that office from my experience with them and wouldn't trust that a business to be able to process a claim for my home if I needed it. NOTE to Allstate Wermers Good Morning, I have homeowner's insurance thru your office. The Allstate Agent from your office who helped me as I was looking for a policy before closing on my house, was very helpful, but I will be looking for new homeowner's insurance very soon. On July 27, your agent notified me that the underwriter's had an issue with the home inspection concerning a tree that was touching the house and needed to be trimmed away from the house. He also informed me that the square footage was not matching and that I would need to provide the home appraisal. At that time I was in the process of moving from another state to Colorado. I was given until 8/6/2015 to fix the tree and provide the appraisal, which I did. Around August 10, I spoke to your agent, who mentioned that underwriting had yet another issue with my policy. They were requesting that I fix or replace a driveway due to crumbling and cracks by September 19 or my policy would be canceled. I asked the agent for a detailed explanation, and expressed my dissatisfaction with the terrible customer service, not from him, but from the underwriters. He provided a short explanation and explained that a letter would come in the mail with the details. That letter arrived on August 17 with the following: "We are writing to inform you that the policy identified above will be canceled as of the cancellation date and time shown above due to the following reasons One or more of the trees on our property poses a risk to your property because it is overhanging, touching the roof. Your driveway/sidewalk(s) is uneven, cracking, crumbling." This is unacceptable customer service and a mediocre explanation for cancellation of my policy. For one, I corrected the issue with the tree within the time allotted, even through a move from out of state! Also, to be notified that your homeowner's insurance policy will be CANCELED due to crumbling in your driveway is ridiculous. It was a bit of a slap in the face to receive a letter from you stating that you appreciated my business three days after I received a notification of cancellation. For these reasons, I will make sure to provide my personal assessment of your office's services on Yelp and will also call the main Allstate office to file a complaint. I will definitely not be recommending Allstate for insurance services either.

During the last 5 years there have been numerous insurance claims. Sometimes more than one in a month. Tadd was always there for me, quickly returning calls, explaining how the claim would work and offering advice on the best way to handle teenage drivers and insurance. Also he was very helpful in making sure we stayed insured when our home in Teller County came under the treat of fire in the 2012 time frame.
