The products are not professional grade; however, if you have a task and need inexpensive tools this is the place! I am not a skilled craftsmen! Comparable tools at big box stores are significantly more expensive! I don't always need the cost of professional grade equipment for a one of job. I've purchased a reciprocating sander, a saws all, a pressure washer, tarps, bungee chords, and various other items for a fraction of the cost of the local Home Depot or Lowes. Certain items like my drill / weed eater are name brand from big box stores but everything I've purchased from here is far better than expected. My sawsall was $20.00. I've used innumerable hours through the years and it functions as well as my fiends high end tool. The difference is I paid roughly 10 percent of what he paid. If you get on their mailing list you get coupons off the already low prices and coupons for free products with any purchase. Today I needed a tarp. It was 6 bucks. I received 20 percent off and received 3 free gifts. A digital multimeter, a mini flash light and a 24 pack of AA batteries. The tarp alone at the big box is roughly double the cost with no coupons and absolutely no freebies. I would highly recommend stopping in if you have a job that requires a specific tool you may or may not use again. My wife and I wanted to refinish some old furniture I didn't want to spend a ton of money on tools for the job so I purchased a reciprocating sander from here for maybe 15.00. It worked well! So well In fact that we took on additional refinishing projects in our home and for her classroom. I've used the $50.00 pressure washer for hours!!! Friends have borrowed it and been astounded at the quality for the price. These again are not professional grade tools but they work just fine for me!

And the items we had to order came in pretty quickly and in good shape. Seem to have a mix of employees who know what they're doing and know all their stuff and some you're better off with trial and error picking your own supplies. Some are new, so hopefully that learning curve won't be too bad because they seem like nice enough guys. Not that they didn't want to help, just didn't have the experience yet. Not the easiest location to get into and out of during heavy traffic times, but the location is conveniently, centrally located to serve a lot of people, and parking lot itself is good. It's just located at a busy intersection.

I have talked to their customer service to no avail. All they do is lie (saying they will be there to pick up the appliance, then not show) and waste my time. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with a company. I will NEVER, EVER shop or step foot in Home Depot again. They have no integrity at all. I wouldn't take anything from them even if they gave it to me. No wonder this company is going downhill. Their customer service staff is the worst on the planet. Hope they get treated the same way they have treated me when they need something. BTW it was a GE appliance and will not buy GE anymore either. What a nightmare I wish it were all over, but they still haven't picked up the appliance, and I have been trying to get it out of my house for the past 19 days, that is if they don't lie to me again (something CS is good at) it should be gone on the 29th of January, 2026, but I don't think my nightmare will be over then. Since the 17th of January 2026, I have spoken with Brittany, Chace, Ron, George, Amanda, Dorie, Alex, Cassie, Kamesha and Sarah, and none of these associates could help me. They hire local people who are genuinely wonderful, and they consistently support local schools, businesses, and the community. As of 1/25/26, their rating sits at 3.8, but the low scores pulling it down are from users who appear to live out of state. I'd take those reviews with a grain of salt.

The staff truly makes you feel like family--which is something you just don't get at big box stores. Anytime I've had trouble finding something, someone is always quick to help and knows exactly where to point me. And when I'm not sure which product is best for a project, they don't just give you a vague answer--they actually know their stuff and give solid recommendations. I also love that it's family-owned. It's so much more convenient than driving out of town to shop at a giant chain store. This is exactly the kind of local business that deserves our support. Helena Hardware is a gem of a store--and I'm grateful it's right here in town.

When we did go back recently the store had a bit of a remodel. It was nice, but just did not have the same feel as before. Prices on items tended to be a bit more hefty and the selection seemed more, how can I say,... "tan?" We went on a Saturday, which used to be a very busy time for them. But this time the store only had a couple of shoppers. Just couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't seem as interesting or inviting. The staff seemed a bit standoffish as well. I suspect if we are back down that way, we may stop by. Just don't think this will be a planned destination any longer.
