It was what appeared to be a husband and wife team working in there. They were very clearly not happy to see my wife and argued directly in front of her who would have to check her out, and when she did get checked out it was an angry, menacing interaction. Altogether, this place is a really bad scene. They might have been nicer if we'd had shaved heads and giant bristly beards and a Punisher skull on our back window (much like the other people you see at this place) but if you're LGBT, and especially if you're lesbian or trans, I wouldn't suggest coming here if you want to feel safe.

Easy check in. Here for 3 days to tour up n down the coast. All good. Update: We checked out and decided to return for an extra day in this part of Maine. I highly recommend this campground. Are there rules? Sure. However, they let you know about the rules before you even book. It's literally spelled out on the website. Sue, Pete, and Dave were all really helpful. We've always stayed in Bar Harbor and never explored this side of Acadia. We only had one night booked as this is a stop on a bigger journey and I would definitely book again. We took Sue's recommendation and drove out to Raven's Point and despite the rain and fog, it was amazing. We also grabbed dinner next door at Tracy's seafood and everyone enjoyed their meals. The shower house is clean and well maintained. As someone hoping to do some night photography on this trip, I appreciate no outdoor lights except campfires after 9:30 rule. It was too overcast this trip but fingers crossed for the next.
