We had AirQuip install a very expensive system a little over 2 year ago. We were very satisfied with the service provided at the time. Today. 2 1/2 years later we awoke without heat. The office scheduler- Lindsay- did provide us with same day service- very welcome on this cold day. However her phone service was somewhat snappish/ surly & rude rather than reassuring that service was scheduled. BTW- our service did arrive mid-afternoon & repairs were made. Hoping for a warmer night For this highly acknowledged HVAC company I would hope their first point customer service personnel would be better trained and more personable! read more

The service people were knowledgeable and got right to work. One of the calls pertained to my furnace which had two bats inside. The poor person had to extract the macerated bats and clean the fan. No complaint while doing so. When my ac broke down in July 2025 they were the only hvac business who could arrive in a reasonable amount of time. Others had quoted a week to ten days. Do not use for an AC inspection/cleaning! They came out to inspect and clean our A/C unit and everything was good to go. We used the A/C that day after they left but woke up Saturday morning with a very loud noise coming from the inside vents. They came out again and said our A/C was frozen. They said this was a common occurrence for running for long periods of time. They couldn't thaw because they found the schrader core was stuck open. They said they need to come back to pump refrigerant into condenser to replace valve, then add refrigerant. 3rd visit: Checked system pressures and found unit low on charge. They performed a leak search and found the schrader core leaking as well as a leak in the evaporation coil. And they found corrosion of the copper tubing in the coil - which if they just looked at the unit at the time of inspection, they would've seen this! So what do they actually inspect and clean during the $130 cleaning? The 2nd guy even called the first guy to make sure he checked everything. I think some things were missed. Shouldn't at the initial cleaning they caught all of these problems? They should've noticed the ice buildup or leaks or that the refrigerant pressure wasn't correct. Or most definitely the corrosion on the inside coils which is an indicator of a leak! And the most disturbing piece of all is that I've called numerous times and have left messages with a manager and no one can even bother to call me back to explain what happened. I am a business owner, retail, in downtown Rochester. We are in an old building that the AC has never really kept the place cool. On 90 degree days it would be at 81 with the A/C on full. We have had many companies come and look at the situation but with $30,000 estimates we could not afford to do anything. Airquip evaluated the business, did a bunch of tests and readings and found us a solution for $7500 that works great for our needs. They were fast and clean and friendly. Just went over two invoices from Airquip. Had service twice in the last year. Once for the AC and once for the furnace. The AC issue was a bad run capacitor. It is a $10 - $20 part. The final bill was $271. The second service was for a bad furnace ignitor. Again a $20 part. The final bill was $281. I don't mine paying a fair price but 15 to 30 times the cost of the part is unconscionable. I understand they came out, diagnosed the problem and replace the part but over charging 2 - 3 times what is normal industry standard is just greed. I will not use them again. read more

I have been an Airquip customer for 20 years, and that has been two full HVAC installs, plus a water heater. Mark and his team take time to understand your needs and limitations when you're buying, and make recommendations that will work for you. When we had a difficult-to-track problem a few years ago, Mark eventually got personally involved, first with the equipment vendor, then with a repair team at our house, and the problem got fixed. Their service response is impeccable, and that includes nights and weekends, and even holiday weekends. Aside from how great their service is, and that's the reason for my 5-star rating, they are a good success story, started and run out of Mark's house for several years, and growing from that. read more

I have to heartily disagree with other ratings. Airquip deserves 1 star, not 5. Mr. Hoffman's company, Energy-Wise and/or AirQuip undertook major installation work of a system at my home. The company did not do the installation properly and due to measurement errors, installed a cooling system at a cost of $12,000+ that did not cool the premises properly. The company was contacted on numerous occasions and made many service calls to try and "rectify" the problem. Never once did the company acknowledge that the system that was installed was too small for the area to be cooled. They came out on a few occasions to investigate the issue but maintained that there were no issues. The owner, Mr. Hoffman did not return calls or correspondence made to him b myself or the general building contractor, Mr. Keith Nally, regarding problems with the installation after the unit failed to cool in subsequent seasons pursuant to its full installation. Mr. Hoffman also prevented his personnel, namely Mark Cole who originally measured and sized the unit, from speaking on record with either Mr. Nally or myself. We subsequently had two other companies conduct heat load assessment and also had representatives from the Unico company that manufactured the unit that Mr. Hoffman's company installed conduct load assessment as well. Unico had their representative here on three separate occasions and for considerable lengths of time. Representatives from Mr. Hoffman's company were asked to participate but did not attend. We have the documentation on those calculations as well as the documents from a second calculation from Airquip which show their calculations (and errors). We have statements from the Unico representative that his company would never have installed a system of this size as it is not capable of cooling the area in question. Subsequently, a second system was installed at significant expense by another HVAC company to compensate for the failures of Mr. Hoffman's company's initial installation. Rather than try to address the issue, Mr. Hoffman hired legal counsel to threaten me from posting a review like this online. Any organization that would seek to stifle legitimate criticism of their work before attempting to address the concerns is indeed an organization I don't think anyone should deal with. I believe Yelp members have right to know that this is not a company they should do business with. read more

Airquip really saved me some money. The HVAC guys with the red van gave me a quote of $885 to replace a faulty furnace circuit board. Airquip did it for $325. The Airquip tech that came to my house was knowledgeable and polite. In contrast the other guy was rude and pushy. Trying to get me to have work done that wasn't necessary. Great customer experience with a tankless hot water heater install and a furnace tune up. All the techs involved were friendly, polite and respected my house. The tankless hot water install was done by Jeremy and Scott, the connections (water, gas, flue, electricity) were neat, well laid out and they had brought everything they needed. On both visits, the techs were on time, the rebate applications were filled out in advance and there were no surprises in the price. Kevin was able to write the proposal for the water heater before he left my driveway and he stopped by the morning of the install to ensure that there was no miscommunication. Airquip techs don't wear a uniform like some of the other HVAC service providers in town, but I was impressed with their professionalism and would recommend this business to others without reservation. After a long search for heating and air companies, we chose Airquip for their extensive knowledge and professionalism. We shopped around and received quotes from numerous places but in the end Airquip beat them all. Not only was their price very fair but from start to finish-the team was amazing! Mike was the first team member we met and he was outstanding. He took his time looking through our house, gave us many option based on our budget and thoroughly explained the pros and cons of each option. After our first meeting with Mike I even received a phone call from him telling me about rebates that I could qualify for that were up to $900! (which in my experience many companies don't inform you of energy rebates they kind of expect you to do your own homework). After deciding to move forward, Jeff and his installation team were really amazing! They were very flexible and patient with us as we were still remodeling and things were constantly being changed on them. Our furnace shut off last week and we called to get three estimates to see what it would cost to replace the furnace. We had called Airquip as one of our estimates and they were more than helpful. They provided a full comprehensive test on the unit and gave us our options, one of which was NOT a new furnace like all the other estimates requested, but a simple fix on a part that was needed to get our furnace back up and running. I had heard nothing but great things about Airquip from my friends and everything that they said was true. Professional, honest and looking out for me, not their pockets. I've used Airquip for 12 years, since I bought my home. I have never had any problems that required emergency service. But I have had them do annual maintenance on my furnace and AC for 12 years. They are reliable, professional, polite. They answer all my questions and as a new homeowner in the beginning I had a lot of questions. I appreciate that they wear shoe covers inside the house. This company uses dirty tactics to get repeat business. I had some work done on my heating system and the tech from airquip said the problem was with the blower, but I will probably need to have the board replaced on his next visit stating that is about to go. He wrote his name and number on a sticky and put it on my furnace saying that I should call him if I have ANY problems as he knew exactly what might be wrong. I didn't think much about it as was just happy to have my furnace working again. Come spring we did some work on our back yard and had our AC moved to a new location from the back of the house to the side. This work was done by a friend and not airquip. When we went to test the AC it would not switch on. When my friend went to check the board that would tell the AC to kick on he found that a wire that should have been hooked to the board was covered in electrical tape and taped against the wall of the AC. He said the last person to work on the AC deliberately took the wire off the board and covered it in electrical tape. Dirt bags.. will never even consider calling them again. read more
