We had our door done with Airtite Exteriors back in the spring. The owner, Sean, came out to give me a fair quote and was great to work with. Installer was professional and did an excellent job, even with running into some damage to the surround from previous poorly done storm door installation. 6 months in and our door and storm door both close perfectly (we had problems with our old storm door from day one). Door installed but doesn't lock unless pulling/pushing hard while simultaneously trying to lock. Storm door doesn't consistently shut after a couple months of use. Tried reaching out several times for these issues to be resolved - no response. The entryway area is also pretty banged up and messy from installation, will require a repaint in order to have it looking normal again which I was not expecting, some spot treatment repairs as well. The guarantees are only as good as they're honored - if you don't respond I suppose you don't need to honor. Disappointed, particularly because the project wasn't cheap - Will not be using or recommending for others. read more

Shawn the estimator came out and did a great job explaining the products, options, and installation process. Jesse did the installation. He was professional, used proper safety equipment, prepped the area, vacuumed several times, explained the work, and left it clean and neat. We are very happy with our new door. read more

extremely overpriced and didn't finish the job. we're very disappointed in curtis. still waiting (since MAY) for them to install a lock they upsold us that so conveniently was on back order when they came to install our doors and now they just want to drop off the hardware and not finish the work we paid A LOT of money for. do not contract this team, whatever you do. definitely would NOT recommend this company read more

I have been trying since October 2018 to reach Curtis Taylor, owner, to discuss a few problems with an insice door and a storm door I purchased from him many years ago. I sent text messages with photos so he could see the problems. I left numerous voice messages on the office phone. A couple of times I was lucky and I was able to talk to him. One time he said they had a problem and lost their old files. I send him a copy of the receipt I have. I didn't hear back. Another time he said he was going on vacation and he would have an employee of his call me in his absence. I never received that call. The last time he said he received the photos and receipt and he would look into my issues and call me by the end of the week. Well, you guessed it, he never called. Due to no luck finding a door installation company on Thumbtack, Homeadvisor led me to Curtis and his company Air Tite. We live in an old house, and we bought the house with no storm door. We quickly learned it's because the door frame size is... weird. Home Depot, it would cost double the price of a normal door AND we'd have to install it ourselves. Curtis arrived on time on a Saturday morning and provided his options. He didn't try to tell us that we should actually expand the door frame, or harp on how it's crooked, etc. He said they can do it, and this is what the cost would be. It was about double the cost of the one we would want from Home Depot AND it included installation/haul away if we had another door. No pressure to order that day. We called him back within the week and were told it would be at least three weeks before the custom door arrived. Unfortunately, in that time Baltimore experienced a horrible cold snap, but he did inform us it would be at least three weeks. On the three week mark, we called, left a voicemail, and emailed. Curtis responded by email and let us know it would arrive that week and he'd call us over the weekend. No call... so I emailed again and we set the installation up via email for the coming week. His team arrived on time and got the job done in about 1.5 hours. It looks and works great. We will consider using them for our back door next. Great work at honestly, an expensive yet fair price when you find out how much Home Depot would charge for custom doors. read more

Curtis and his team are top notch. They made the process seamless from start to finish. They know their business very well and they provide tremendous value to their customers. I first used them in 2007 and that door held up so very well that I just had them install two more for me. They take the time to make sure the job is done phenomenally. Almost a year later and I have not received the transom. I paid almost $5k all included and you would think for that much money I would be taken a little more seriously by the company. The contract clearly states that the transom was supposed to be 3 panels but I recieved a transom with a single pane. Since the owner no longer answers my calls or returns my messages I guess I am stuck with it. RUN! Run away! read more

This review is for Air Tite Windows & Doors, in Nottingham, MD. I had them install three external storm windows on the house. One window was 84" wide. It's difficult to find a company these days that deals with storm windows. Sears does not do it. One company I talked to, gave me some BS that you don't need storm windows with their windows, because their windows are so good. Anytime you can add an additional barrier between you and the outside, you are saving money with heat and AC, and also adding security. Curtis is the owner and Scott is the installer. Communication was excellent. Fair Price. Great Product. Great install, and installed when they said they would do it. I am one extremely happy customer. I will be doing more business with Air Tite again. read more

I will come back and amend this review at the conclusion of the project. The sale went well, but the installation (by Jack) was EXTREMELY unprofessional and sloppy and left damage to my house's siding. Air Tite sent Sean out to fix and after the evaluation i was scheduled for this morning at 10am. I took the day off work to be there and was called at 10 am by Sean, cancelling due to illness. Why couldn't he have called to cancel at 7 or 8? I wasted a day for nothing. " - review I left on the Service Magic Website in 2010. Owner/Salesman - Curtis Taylor First Installer - Jack Second Installer - Sean I actually had 2 sliding glass doors installed in 2010 by Air Tite. I left the above review on the ServiceMagic web site and just decided to put one here, too. The actual sale went well, I was confident that I was going to get what I need. I had 2 patio doors that were no longer sliding, and whose seals had broken so they were foggy. I was told by owner/salesman all that the installation would involve: removal of the old doors, replacement with the new, the doors on the outside would be trimmed out properly, threshholds on the inside would be replaced as they were before installation. The usual stuff. We scheduled installation and I paid 50% of the bill. The installation is where things went horribly awry. The installer (Jack) came out with (I think) his son as his helper. Jack was a gruff no-nonsense sort of guy. He was also unprofessional in his installation. He installed the doors, but did not trim them out properly on the outside, instead opting for the multiple tubes of caulk approach. A LOT of caulk. Big globs of caulk. I brought this to his attention and he said, "hey there's nothing I can do about it now." I looked at him and said, this really looks bad...would you be happy with it in my shoes. Grumble grumble...I'll see what I can do. Oh and the threshold in the basement, where is it? (now there is about a two inch strip of concrete between the glass and the edge of the carpet). His response was that the threshold was part of the previous door and he can't do anything about it. (shouldn't owner/salesman have noticed that?). Oh and he forgot to bring out the little foot locks for the doors and one screen had a tear in it. Came to settle up and pay the bill. I didn't want to pay the entire balance because of the loose ends. I didn't push the quality of work at this point because the guy was frankly gruff and sort of scarey. Well he did NOT like that I only wanted to pay half of the balance untill the job was totally done and got on the phone to owner/salesman. I talke to him and agreed to hold back less. I really wanted the guy out of my house. later that day, I took pictures of the work done and sent them to Air Tite with my thoughts. I was called by the secretary (after the sale was made, owner/salesman NEVER spoke to me again, nor did he apologize.) and she said they were sending out another installer to fix the job. Sean was scheduled to come out at 8, so I took the day off from work. By 10 I hadn't heard from him so I called and he was sick and wouldn't make it (how about a call early in the day so I can reschedule my life?). We rescheduled for a week later. He did show up, was very apologetic and took a look around. He did a lot of grimacing. He really didn't want to say anything bad about a colleague, but a few times he couldn't help himself. He did fix all the problems I had, except for the threshold. He was a decent guy and did good work. He obviously cared. Though things were finally straightened out, everytime I look at the doors I am reminded of the very poor installation service I received from Jack and the intimidating way he behaved.
