Updating my rating to 2 stars as we have not heard from Aiza since March and it is now June. Our wedding banquet occurred in January and we received our online album nearly 2 months after (when promised a 2 week turn-around in contract). We also have not received our USB of the wedding photos as promised in our contract despite multiple follow-up emails. Unfortunately, we would not recommend Aiza as a wedding photographer. I met Aiza twice: when I was pregnant and when my child was born. Thanks for the great photos, it was great. We have received many photos.

We were referred to Aizhan for some family portraits by one of my friends. She had gotten some family portraits done earlier in the year and I loveeeeeeeed them. Although I contacted her pretty late in the season (mid November), she was able to squeeze in a mini-session for me within a week. We met her at Lake Chabot (where she does her mini-sessions) and had a great experience. We had a little issue meeting her--there is NO cell phone service at Lake Chabot, but thankfully she did not count that toward our session time. This was already a big plus to us as we've had other photographers take that time out of our session. Aizhan was very easy to work with and she had so much patience for us and our one year old boy. She let us be very natural with our pictures, but also gave us lots of suggestions when we ran out of ideas. I loved that she asked us for our style preference (we wanted a few candids, but more family/whole body shots). We were not rushed AT ALL and in fact, I was the one who cut the session short because the baby was 5 minutes away from a full-on temper tantrum. She even got a few shots of him sitting with his bottle :) After the session, she let us know that the turn-around time was usually 2-3 weeks for edited images. I was a bit rushed to get Christmas cards out, and thankfully she beat her time (I got it after a week and a half!) The images were beautiful and I could not be happier with them! She gave us the high res images and I was able to order prints wherever I wanted. We will definitely use her again in the future. Thank you Aizhan! read more

Me and my fiancé looked at many photographers online and were having a hard time to make a decision until friend of ours recommended Aizhan. Once we saw her work we new right away that we want her to capture our special day. When i messaged her she was very quick in replying and i was able to get all the necessary information right away. We wanted a small City Hall wedding and prior to that have our pictures taken at couple of other locations. She was great at suggesting the places with natural light and beautiful backgrounds. She was awesome with giving directions and she made us feel so comfortable. We explained over the email what we like and what we expect and she went over and beyond our expectations. I hired Aiza for wedding photography for my wedding in May. She was very responsive at first, we signed a contract for my wedding date. Every email correspondence had my wedding date in either the subject line or the first email. As the date got closer, I scheduled a call with Aiza to discuss the details of our our timeline. During our call, she mentioned that "weekday weddings were easy", to which I corrected her that my wedding was on a Saturday. After our call, Aiza emailed me to let me know that she double booked herself and was no longer available on my date and had to cancel me. Mind you this is two months before my wedding day! She half-assed "helped" me find a replacement photographer- one who wasn't even available and the other was more than twice the cost I had agreed on w Aiza. I found this process incredibly unprofessional and stressful. The contract we signed had the correct Saturday date! I did not get my deposit back. Aiza brushed my concerns off and said that 2 months was the perfect amount of time to find a photographer. I'm glad I am not going w Aiza. There is something about the way Aizhan takes pictures that really captures a moment. I can tell you from experience and working with over 100s of photographers...Aizhan knows what she's doing. If you need engagement pictures or wedding portraits done she knows how to make someone look great! In fact, our shoot was just for fun, but my girlfriends who are actually getting engaged were so jealous that I had the opportunity to work with her! Even as a model (previously), I have worked with photographers that just didn't know my angle. This is not the case with Aizhan. On top of it- most photographers have 100s of pictures to chose from. Aizhan uses film photography, meaning not as many to pick from, for some of her pictures and yet, she still gets the right picture, at the right time. What a difference it makes! My wife and I got married in Napa last May. Aizhan did an amazing job with the photos. Her prices are really good, especially compared to others in the area and the quality is even better. I think what I loved about working with Aizhan is that she was full of ideas. Even though it is the photographers job to guide the pictures and to give ideas on how to pose not everyone does it but Aizhan was very helpful. What really impressed me what that it's been 7 months later and my wife and I got a surprised package from Aizhan! It was a box full of our wedding pictures. It had around 250,300 prints and a thoughtful note saying Happy New Year and that she just wanted us to enjoy the prints. (We got a 100 prints and a CD with the rest of the photos in the beginning). This is an overdue review for Aizhan! I was fortunate enough to find her after weeks of searching for the perfect photographer for my private, civil wedding ceremony. I traveled from Los Angeles to San Francisco for my wedding, so finding the right person from hundreds of miles away was very stressful and difficult. From the beginning of the consultation over email, I noticed she was very prompt and humble, which I REALLY liked. There were other photographers charging me up to $10,000 for only 2 hours of photography which I thought was completely absurd, since I only had 3 other people joining my husband and I. Aizhan gave me the best package at the best rate, overall. It is very easy to see that she is truely passionate about her work and isn't in this business just to make money off of people. She arrived 15 mins prior to our appointment, which was a big plus. She knew her way around SF City Hall, and the ideal places to take pictures. Afterwards, we took photos outside in the plaza and then went to another location to shoot some more. She made us feel comfortable enough to just relax and enjoy our special day. There was not a single moment that she missed. She captured them all! She even went above and beyond to add in extra shots with filters , which I loved, loved, LOVED! The results were just perfect. I couldn't ask for anything better. My husband is in the military, and now that he is away on deployment, I gaze at my wedding photos almost everyday. Being a last minute bride with my mother and mother in law constantly asking me to ask our photographer questions as to what we'll receive, Aizhan always kindly answered and with a quick response. But I am very camera shy and when it was time to do a solo pic she gave great suggestions that made me comfortable and made me feel beautiful on my special day. I chose Aizan for maternity photoshoot. I found her completely unprofessional. She was not punctual for the photoshoot venue given that there was rain forecast. We ended by shooting in drizzle. She didn't deliver photos on promised time. She delayed them by 2 weeks and didn't pick up phone calls or responded promptly to emails. Finally when I received the photos, they were very bad - not crisp and burnt out. The output was shoddy. I would never recommend her to anyone. One last thing, she asks for 100% payment of her service upfront using Venmo. I wish I didn't do that mistake. After paying her upfront I am at her mercy to give photographs however bad job she did. I advise not to transfer her upfront or better to pay by credit card. read more

First off, Aizhan's photographs are beautiful. She was our first choice for photographer for our wedding. Unfortunately, Aizhan canceled on us mid-attempt to pay her deposit. I don't know if we scared her off or something, but she very suddenly became busy on my date (after I had asked her to re-confirm that she was free the day before) and told us she'd book us with her assistant instead. Now, I was really nervous about that and agreed to give it a shot, and asked for the assistant's info, which never came. After several weeks of silence, I have booked another photographer. I was really disappointed that my experience with Aizhan was so poor in the end, because her photos are truly beautiful and she's very well priced for weddings. Unfortunately, I do not think that Aizhan is a professional on the business-side of things. She was inconsistent with her numbers (her fee for Paypal to pay the deposit was $3 but sent me a charge for $5, and basically canceled on me when I asked her to correct or clarify that) and her communication could be difficult to understand due to the slight language barrier. I hope others have a more successful run with her, and wish her luck, but the way things ended up left a really poor impression on me. read more

This is a pretty late review but better late than never. We had our engagement photoshoot done by Aizhan last July. I found her through a groupon deal and so glad that we choose her. She is pretty amazing at what she does. She took care of the kind of photoshoot we wanted and suggested us places accordingly. She was very patient with my not so camera friendly husband and gave us good suggestions. Overall she has a very friendly aura. Prices are very affordable. And she provided many high quality edited photos in the end (about 60 I guess) for a 2-hr photoshoot. This was a big concern for me as many other photogs would provide only like 4-6 edited photos and need to pay extra for more photos. read more

Aizhan is a wonderful photographer. She took our family portrait pictures and all I have to say is that she was spectacular and her work is simply magic. We came to know of Aizhan through one of our friends. Once we looked at Aizhan's photos, we knew we wanted her to photograph our special day. Aizhan responded to us at once and helped us to figure out how much time we needed photographed. Aizhan wasn't available for our city hall registration, so it was covered by her teammate Lera. Lera came half an hour early for our city hall registration and started taking candid pictures. She was very dedicated, and took lots of pictures of us all around city hall. She also suggested poses that would look nice. We received the edited photos from Aizhan and all our friends and family were raving about the pictures!!! We had engagement photos taken with Aizhan on 7/12 at Lake Chabot. We were lucky to be able to incorporate my fiance's daughter in the pictures, and felt those with her in them, turned out the best. I want to first off say that she is a wonderful and kind photographer! Aizhan was very good with communication before the wedding and even after. My wedding was July 16th, 2016 and I think I booked her around March and she kept in constant contact. She is a very artistic photographer that will capture all of the great details of your wedding, some details that you would even forget to photograph yourself. She was very friendly with everyone and was always open to many ideas. One thing that I noticed was that at times Aizhan did not initiate the poses as strongly as I wanted her to. Granted, my bridal party was 10 people in total and we could be a loud group. But because we were so limited on time between the ceremony and reception, I wanted to pump out as many pictures as possible. I am extremely happy with my photos, and I understand the time limit was my fault for planning it that way, so I cannot blame Aizhan. I just wish she would have pushed us a little more and told us to stand here and there so we could quickly take some pictures. After I did tell her that she could boss us around, she was much stronger and initiated more poses. Another thing that I was a little disappointed was I think many of the photo ideas that I sent her, were not taken. Granted, I sent her a bunch and it was a crazy day so we didn't have time to sit around and remember all of the particular pictures I wanted, but I missed out on a couple I really wanted with my groom.
