I sent an email to Hour Glass to find out the cost to make new ones, and Dan replied promptly with an estimate. The cabinet in question is a corner cabinet, and the shelves are very odd shaped - six sides in total, almost a gem shape. I went down to Hour Glass with the most intact pieces of the broken shelves so they could try to recreate the exact dimensions, but the entire back side was too far gone - they were going to have to attempt to guess the length of the back sides based on the information I could give them. I picked up my new shelves yesterday and was thrilled that they fit -- and they look great. At all times, everyone I spoke to there was very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs any custom glasswork done.

The sill is rotten, time to go. I also figure why not replace a few doors at same time. I tried to reach the Kennebunkport/Portland location where my windows came from. It is somewhere between 100% and 1000% impossible to reach them to discuss in a normal manner. Ie can I send you a photo of window and approximate dimensions so we can discuss budget? Nope- the local 207 number goes to a data center that wants to collect all our information before an "IN HOME CONSULTATION". Knowing a sales pitch similar to a used car salesman I declined. So my house will be full of Renewal by Andersen, except for 1 window. I dont care if I put a piece of plywood over it. I won't deal with them anymore. Salesman walks in sees almost new house: 20 years old with original Andersen doors. He knows we have standard size doors and that selling us custom sizes (this is what Renewal says they do) is wrong but he continues. During the sales process, we were told we needed custom-sized French doors and full frame and casing replacement. Then the measuring expert comes and says standard sizes work and we save 7%. They rip out frames and casings anyway and put in new everything including the exact same size doors as we have. Then we find our old doors fit in the new frames. Great way to treat your best customers! Horrible installation too! Doors open on their own, the door frames are visibly out of alignment, there are gaps covered with excessive caulking, and the doors are drafty unless locked. They also rattle when closed. Weatherstripping began failing within days and repairs didn't last. During installation, parts of our wired security system were removed and returned disconnected (the workman said he didn't know what they were!), leaving it non-functional. We were later told we were responsible for removing it, even though no one ever said anything and the contract dosen't mentioned it. We were told the screen doors we would get would be "way more substantial" than the screen doors we had. The new doors were the cheapest they offer and identical to our old ones. We also had personal property damaged during installation: they nailed my wife's raincoat under the casing and didn't even notice! We were sold work we did not need, were told misleading information during the sales process and got substandard workmanship. For the price charged (about $46,000), we expected much better. I would strongly recommend getting multiple quotes and asking very detailed questions before signing anything. If your contract is longer than one page run for cover!

Roof crew arrived right on time and worked until almost dusk and then finished the large job the next day and did a nice job cleaning everything up. You could tell this 7 person crew were veterans because they all worked like like a well-oiled machine - no one standing around at all. Foreman spoke good English and went over everything with us throughout the job and double-checked our yard to make sure not a single nail was left. Garaged doors were completed in one day despite the fact that the track for my old doors was mounted to marginal wood which had to be reinforced. Polite, well trained and removed our heavy old doors that day. Neighbors were super-impressed and my wife was thrilled that both jobs went smooth as silk and were below the budget we were prepared for leaving us some extra money for our next project!
