I called and Ted answered; provided me with a written detailed estimate. I had several questions after and he returned all my call right away. He did tell me they were a few weeks behind due to the weather and I was ok with that since I had to move the AC unit for them to do the job. During that time Ted answered all my calls and text me with possible start dates. Project started a few weeks after and they were very clean and organized. Quite frankly, based on past experiences with contractors, I didn't want to deal with sales people. People whose only job is to sell and aren't responsible for performing the actual work themselves. Salespeople are more interested in up charging and selling things you don't need in order to over-inflate the invoice and possibly earn a bigger commission. I prefer working with smaller, local companies that are honest and have a great reputation. That is what prompted me to reach out to this company. My experience working with Ryan Lesak at Forever Dry was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about his company. He was on-time for his appointment, super friendly, genuine and extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention, before the visit he spent 30 minutes on the phone with me discussing the issue, thinking it may be a foundation issue, and providing sound advice regarding condo bylaws, real estate, etc. His father happens to be a real estate attorney. After spending time investigating the issue, which included cutting some dry wall and visiting my next door neighbors unit, Ryan discovered the seepage I was experiencing was a result of my next door neighbor, (connecting townhome unit), who had some long-standing issues that they didn't fix in a timely manner. Their hot water heater was leaking and the condenser on their AC unit was clogged. The constant flow of water on in their utility room floor was seeping into my basement. Unfortunately, I incurred damage to my unit as a result. Ryan recommended resources I can call (handyman & carpet repair) once my neighbor resolves their issues. My concern was that I had over 12 yards of carpet left over- according to Dave (Manager and person who measured), that was to be expected due to 'repeat design' and stairs couldn't be done any other way to piece together instead of cutting 3 feet of carpet for stairs off a 16 foot roll, leaving me with $400 of excess carpet which he states he could only sell as remnant for $75-100. Additionally, was to be 'free installation' which ended up costing me another $419 due to it being laid on concrete and 'repeat design', as well as separate charge for stairs. I would also recommend requesting and reviewing a written estimate as the original that was sent me. The actual ended up being almost $500 more than my final cost, including Illinois versus Wisconsin sales tax
