Both of my appointments were started 30 min later than the actual appt. I was there 2 weeks ago and was supposed to have 2 procedures back to back and had to take off work and b/c of them running behind, only received 1 service and had to take off work again to come back and was sitting in the waiting room 30 min past my appt. time, VERY UPSET!!!!!!!!! The dental staff told me there is a new office system to try and get everyone in but there should'nt be a patient not taken on time or close to it so that others are then pushed back after they take off work. Everyone's time is just as valuable as the next person. I love the dental team but just wish whoever is doing these new appointments would go back to the old way of making the patients happy and on time for their next part of the day.

I'm grading my review of Kleinman one star, only because a review cannot be posted without a…read moregrading. In truth, he deserves -10 stars, based upon my interaction with him today. I was referred to him by my family dentist for recurring, intense gum pain where my dentist had extracted four teeth a few years ago because my dentist can't figure out the cause of the pain. Kleinman walked into the exam room, with a face that would stop an 8-day clock, didn't even introduce himself, and said in an I-couldn't-care-less tone of voice, OK, so what's the problem? When I told him, he said this isn't my area, you need an oral surgeon (before he had even looked at my gums). Aren't gums the specialty of a periodontist and isn't Kleinman a periodontist??? Then he said my dentist hadn't referred me to him, I had chosen him myself, which is a lie, making him a liar, and I told him so. I had a copy of my dentist's referral in my purse and my dentist had sent him copies of my most recent X-rays of the gum area weeks ago. Then he finally got around to looking at the gum area, pressed down hard on it, I saw stars, he said it's probably a bone infection, tell your dentist to open it up and clean it out. When I told him my dentist had already opened it up and found no cause for the pain, Kleinman said then go see an oral surgeon, I can't help you. An addendum to the review I posted yesterday --- Last night I found a message on our answering machine from Kleinman's office, left yesterday morning, to advise me not to show up for my appointment yesterday afternoon --- because Kleinman had reviewed my records from my dentist and, on the basis of those, he had determined that I need an oral surgeon, not a periodontist. What??? First of all, he had told me that he hadn't received anything from my dentist --- no referral, no X-rays, no records, nothing. He told me that his staff had told him that I had taken it upon myself to find him and make an appointment. So how could he review records that he claimed he hadn't received??? He is such a liar. Secondly, it was in late March when my dentist had sent him my most recent X-rays and I had made the original appointment, April 15, which I subsequently needed to change to April 29 because I was sick on the 15th. The time for him to have reviewed what had been sent to him by my dentist and to have let me know he couldn't help me was long before April 15 had rolled around. Not one month later, on the morning of the appointment, after I had rescheduled it, after I had filled out multiple forms online. Not to mention --- his office had called me a few times prior to April 15 to ask if I could come in ahead of the 15th whenever they had received a cancellation from another patient. And why wasn't I told this at the receptionist desk when I showed up there yesterday??? Instead, she had me fill out yet another form, take a seat, and wait for Kleinman to see me. Now I see why Kleinman was so rude, abrupt and dismissive with me yesterday in the exam room --- because he had already decided he had no intention of helping me and he wanted to get rid of me ASAP.

I was told that it would cost $10,000 and 7 surgeries over two years to correct my severe gum recession. I reluctantly agreed as this practice does accept my dental insurance, and would defray a large portion of the cost. I followed the very limited recommendations provided by this office post surgery, which consisted of three actual instructions and things like "call our office if you have problems and take the ibuprofen" contained on the remainder of the 2 pages. I was underwhelmed by the written and verbal directions provided by the periodontist and googled other peridontists' recommendations for post-gum grafting. I found them recommending additional post-op suggestions including, but not limited to: not using a straw and how long to stay on which type of foods (with suggestions). I added these limitations to very limited ones provided by the dentist to try to increase my odds of success. At my post-op, I was told that I had lost a large portion of the gum graft. I understand that the procedure sometimes fail. However, the only instructions for ongoing care was given AFTER I said that I was glad to finally be able to brush my teeth. The dentist only then told me to continue not brushing on my right side for another two weeks. I had to call back to ask if I was to continue to chew only on my left side as well. The staff told me that it was in Dr. Kleinman's notes, but he never relayed to me. Communication with Dr. Kleinman was severely lacking! On multiple visits, he would provide different verbal instructions from printed instructions. When confronted, he would swear that he went over all the written directions, which was not the case. Perhaps I'm the anomaly and the other patients experiences are the norm at this practice. But my advice would be get a second opinion before choosing to use this practice for your dental needs.

I went to Clear Choice however in order for them to implant five missing teeth and other unnecessary procedures like pulling ALL of my teeth (replacing them with implants), including the good ones. They said to achieve maximum effects. I was given a quote, the price of a brand new BMW or other luxury vehicle, $40,000. Nope not getting ALL of my teeth removed! Well needless to say Clear Choice was out. In addition, I felt like I was being manufactured, if that make sense, like I was on an assembly line. I continued my search, long story short, pretty much the same thing from the Md. Center for Periodontics and Dental implants. The problem there was a big increase in price from when I left the dentist's chair with one quote, by the time I reached the front desk the price increased. Scam! While scrolling through Facebook I came upon an advertisement for DR. DMITRY NOVA, DDS. Suspicious of another scam, but hoping this time I would get a Dentist that cares for the patient not only for the work but also the costs. Implants are expensive. Curious, I made an appointment with Dr. Dmitry Nova. On my day of appointment I sat with Dr. Nova for my consult. The office staff were pleasant as well and the environment very inviting. Dr. Nova explained the implant process to me in detail. I hadn't at that point shared the experience with the other Dental establishments. Dr. Dmitry had the state of the art equipment, as did the others. As he was explaining, in detail, what I could expect I couldn't help but think "oh no" another price rip off was coming. However, to my surprise I was quoted a price that I could definitely handle. I could not believe it! Talking to Dr. Nova I felt he was experienced in his craft, and concerned for the total patient.
