The food is always so delicious! Unfortunately today we went in and walked out with nothing! Granted there was on 1 waitress and she was a little busy but others came in after us and they got there drinks and order taken as we sat there waiting and waiting, without a word from our waitress. After quite awhile we decided to leave...there was now 6 orders before us that came after us and still not a word from our waitress. Unfortunately for them we had a big order that we wanted to go. We planned on ordering a couple appetizers and drinks while we waited but couldn't get waited on, let alone I'll be with you in a moment. We just happened to be driving by when I was asked to "find a place to eat". Popped into Google maps for "places to eat near me" & came up with this gem! I'm already trying to figure out how to stop at this place on upcoming trips between MI & the south! Their food is all fresh, hand made, made to order & are large servings. Everything is fresh. Past several orders were terrible. One order Pizza was literally raw dough. Had to be a frozen pizza another time ALL the food tasted like fish. Decided to give them another chance. This last time the order was WRONG! So tossed the crap in the trash was highly upset. Called and talked to the owner. She wanted me to get the hamburgers out of the trash and give them back to them and they`d make 2 more hamburgers. Are you kidding me? I am not digging in the trash just to get 2 more hamburgers. Stopped here on a whim from Atlanta to Detroit. I was put in charge of finding something to eat and this looked like a great option with great reviews. It's hard to find something for everyone in our family (man, woman, grandma and child). This place has something for everyone. We split a chicken dinner that was served with fries and cole slaw. The chicken was hot and moist, deliciously seasoned. Not too much batter either. The fries were soft, which I like but if you don't you should ask for them extra crispy. The cole slaw was sweet and creamy which I also like, but if this isn't for you, explore your options for a different side. Grandma had a half chef salad that was huge. It had a large portion of meat and cheese. The lettuce was fresh. She said it was very good. She really liked the poppy seed dressing. Our son had a chicken sandwich with Swiss and thought there wasn't enough batter. The bun was tasty. Woody's Diner is good for Ohio State fans. If you don't like OSU, stay away. The place is plastered in stuff. It's one of the few dining options. The best thing on the menu is pizza. I had a vegetable personal pizza. It's about $7 which is okay. The pizza had banana peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. It came on a pretty good crust. This wasn't like cardboard like most sports bar pizzas. It took kind of long for a small pizza. Know it will take awhile. You may want to go somewhere else if you don't have time. read more

Everything about our trip today was a disaster. Had an afternoon out with my mom and stopped in to eat. Chose woody's because we believe in supporting local business and have heard many people talk about how much they enjoy the atmosphere. What a mistake! We were alone in the building with one other table of people. The waitress was immediately off putting. Seeming bothered by our every request. Once our order was put in she came back after 20 minutes to inform us that they were out of chicken salad. My mom wanted something in the same price range , due to her fixed income and budget for lunch out. When we suggested they comp the extra 1.50 for the meatball sandwich since we had waited so long and been met with such poor service to this point... well, you'd have thought she'd never been so offended in her life. She went to the back and returned, telling us that she couldn't do anything for us and it was only 1.50 anyways. So mom ordered the sandwich... At this point the cook now came out from the kitchen and told us that if we weren't happy we were free to leave. She then had the nerve to tell us the service was so bad because things were so slammed. Again, just us and one other table in the building. So, after nearly an hour of waiting we left with empty stomachs and headed to Arby's and bought a market fresh sandwich. Single worst costumer experience in either mine or my mothers life. read more
