I haven't been to a Clancy's in 35 years, didn't know they were still around. My parents used to take us to the one in Galion Ohio, after going to the family doctors. I remember them being a roast beef, and baked potato place, but that was 35 years ago. There are only two left in the U.S. and this is the only one in Ohio. I got a Topper, Richelle got the bacon double cheeseburger, and we shared the fries. The burgers are fantastic. Topper is a two 1/10oz hamburger patty, slice of Mercian cheese, lettuce and tarter sauced three bun delight. Bun is slightly toasted, but so soft It was falling apart as you at it, reminded me of Nichole's bread when we made burgers at home. Richelle said the bacon dbl. cheese burger, good, better then other fast food places, like If you would make it. Fries are outstanding, nice thick slices. Staff is friendly: If you dine in they bring your food too you. We were even asked if we need refills. It's fast food style, but they have daily meals specials that are more like fast casual. It's really has a mom n pop neighborhood hamburger joint feel.

Big breakfast- 2 eggs, bacon, toast, hash brown

This is the first time I've been to this restaurant but my parents rave about it. I was starving after my workout and wanted some place with a drive thru so I didn't need to go inside. This place was fast and cheap. I wouldn't recommend the fountain pop, it had a horrible taste. And I wouldn't recommend the bacon, it was limp and tasted like the microwave kind. I wouldn't recommend the hash brown, I took one bite and it was greasy and soggy. The eggs were a generous amount for being two eggs. The wheat toast was fine. I'll try lunch or dinner here sometime before I write them off completely but I won't be back for breakfast.

Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday is international cuisine and the food is interesting, the manager's take on that country's food.

Local good selection drive through. Much better than the box chain stores. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

We really liked this place in downtown Sidney. It was different. On our way down I -75 traveling to…read moreDayton, we were looking for a place that was relatively quick, easily accessible and not too expensive. That usually means choosing a fast food chain location. These chains serve their purpose but aren't much fun. This place popped up on Yelp and turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The location is a short drive off the highway into downtown Sidney, taking about 4 or 5 minutes to get there from Exit 92. It was located in a retro building on the main intersection in town cross corner from the County Courthouse. Approaching from the West on Court St., it looked a little divey. It looks more pleasantly vintage from the Ohio St. side, which is actually its storefront. Our visit to this place prompted me to do some quick research. The Spot has been in business for over 100 years, opening in 1907. A fire destroyed the original building in 1940 and according to the local paper, "the current Art Moderne-style building was completed in 1941 and still features its original white porcelain tile, mid-century neon sign and iconic diner layout." It truly has a retro feel inside, going more or less for a 1950s aura where you would not be surprised to see Richie Cunningham sitting at a booth drinking a malt. Although the jukebox is digital, the upgrades enacted by the new owners who took over last year generally seem to be spot on. While it looks retro, the infrastructure is in nice shape with a clean, tidy appearance. It's a pleasant place for a meal. The format is walk-up-and-order. The girl working the counter was polite and efficient. To be fair in context, however, we walked in around 6:45 PM on a Wednesday night an hour-and-a-quarter before closing. It was not at all busy when we entered with one party there finishing their meal and only two others who walked in before we left. Hence, efficiency would be expected with no other customers to be served, but I'll still note the good work. The food was up quickly without any issues. We sat in 1950s comfort to enjoy our meal. I had the Turkey Club. It was quite good. I ordered mine with Onion Rings as my wife wanted to split these with me. She had the Swiss Lad sandwich, which she said was also very tasty. We split an Iced Tea which was likewise quite good. With everything, we spent $25.48 for dinner. At less than $13 per person, I was happy with that value. We'll certainly look for this place again when we are passing through Sidney.

I must say I was a little reluctant to go here after reading some of the recent reviews on Yelp…read moreprior to visiting. To my surprise, I was greeted at the register by a very friendly, Isabell, who also shared it was her first day working there when I told her it was my first time dining. Her kindness made me feel welcome. It was really neat to see the various pictures and articles on the wall highlighting President G.W. Bush visit 28-Aug-04 and another picture highlighting this establishment was previously owned by Rob Lowe's (Brat Pack actor from the 1980's) grandfather. The menu included several diner classics so I selected the "Big Buy" which was a double decker hamburger which was cooked to my liking. The wait was very reasonable and I enjoyed seeing families enjoying their dining experience together on a Tuesday evening. It was also enjoyable listening to some familiar music from my youth while waiting and then consuming my meal. I also selected onion rings which were thinly sliced and had a flaky texture, but these can cool quickly it seemed, but were tasty. I tried the chocolate and vanilla mixed/twist malt and a piece of raspberry pie. The malt was delicious, but the pie was a little dry although I finished it quickly. I also appreciated seeing the work ethic of Isabell meticulously maintaining the dining room tables carefully. I asked some folks in town about the new ownership and a few indicated "hit or miss", but for me on this evening it was a hit. Hopefully the new ownership adapts and adjusts by being a good listener to a customer base that provides feedback so it can be a thriving business for years to come in this unique location. A unique experience indeed, ...thank you.

This place is definitely a local diner type place. Has wood paneling and old tables. Ambience is that of a Waffle House. When we walked in there was one (very hard working) lady that was waiting tables, cooking, bussing and cleaning the restaurant. Regardless of all that she had on her plate (hah, see what I did there ;) ) she was very attentive to us and got us drinks and menus shortly after we sat down. We let her know what we were in a rush and would order shortly. She came over, took our order and off to cook it she went. We waited only about 10-15 minutes and our food was out! Now.. the only reason this place is getting a 4/5 is because it is such cheaply priced food but the quality is what you pay for. I teetered between a 3 and a 4 but because of the pricing I had to give it a 4. The food was nothing special and tasted decent. The home fries were probably the best. We asked for them to be extra crispy and they came out perfect. If you're looking for a small home town diner with a Waffle House type food that's open at 5:30 am.. this is your spot. We wouldn't come back here if we were looking for high quality breakfast though.

We had an art show to attend in Sidney and stopped here for dinner afterwards. It's a beautiful restaurant in downtown Sidney. I started with a cup of clam chowder. Salty and creamy, it was very good. Next I had the Ahi Tuna dinner. The tuna was a bit overcooked but still delicious (and also salty). But the veggies were way overcooked, mushy and served cold. Yuk. The rice was also way overcooked and a mush pile, yuk as well. My SO had the Ahi tuna appetizer as her meal and the Greek salad. The tuna was coated both sides with a thick layer of wasabi and completely overpowered. She tried to scrape it off. The salad was ok but lacking any feta (again, a Greek salad). Service was painfully slow even though it was not busy. (3/4 of the tables were open.) Given that, the bill was over $100, I would certainly expect more for that price. Sorry, but it will be some time before we return.
