One of my least favorite pizzas in the area. It's just not a great pizza and I don't get the hype. The service was good last time I went and they do offer food other than pizza but it's all just meh. Stopped here on a whim, found a decent pizza. On my way home from Put-in-Bay we stopped in Wapakoneta for gas and grub. My travel buddy had a hankering for pizza and I vetoed The Hut. We found La Grande in the downtown area, a couple miles off the highway. The pizza joint resides near the corner of Blackhoof and Main in a rather unassuming brick and mortar. The atmosphere is very pub and grill, definitively casual, and reminds me a bit of the 20th century pizza-bars I grew up with in Youngstown. If you're looking for a an elegant dine-in, this is not your spot. Much more of a local watering hole with pizza, wings, subs, and fried whatever-you-can-imagine. On our visit we tried some fried and it was as expected: fried. Followed it up with a 14" 3-topping pizza. Note: they will split toppings, and we took advantage of this option. Steak entrecote it was not, but tasty pizza above "The Hut Line", it certainly was. Our server/bartender was as friendly as can be and just this side of being able to serve alcohol. The youthful exuberance was appreciated and the price did not exceed $$ (two dollar signs). Would not decline another visit if in town again. read more

La Grande is home to me, as in it is literally where I grew up. The pizza is always good, very saucy and the ingredients fresh and there is a plethora of fried foods for you to feast on. Of note, the pickles of course and I seem to have this addiction to the mini tacos. Wine is served in mini bottles and not on Sundays as a heads up. You can see into the kitchen if you sit at the bar and the nice pizza making man is relentless in his constant topping of the pizzas. Behind him, you can see the stacks of pizza ready to go out for delivery. A nice little snapshot of Wapak and it's always good to know you can still go home. read more

I feel like today was a day of so so meals. La Grande serves thin crust pizza that's heavy on the sauce and cut into squares. They have tons of sides like breadsticks, garlic bread, wings, and fried pickles. Our pizza was okay, nothing spectacular. Breadsticks weren't exciting either. The worst part was the seating. When you walk in there in an entryway and then what feels like a hallway with 6 or so booths, then it opens up to the main part. We got stuck in one of the booths. It was like we were the 3rd wheel of the place. Everyone who came and left had to walk past us. The entryway had gum/candy machines so every kid in the joint kept coming in and out. Did I mention it was almost 90 degrees today? So we got a nice blast of hot air every time someone opened the door. The main part was definitely the place to be....bar, decor, music, lights. Best in the area. If you're looking for authentic pizza I recommend looking elsewhere. If you're looking for something delicious, you've got the right place. To say that any pizza in the Lima area is authentic would be a stretch so my best move is to choose the tastiest option. La Grande is a place I've been going since I was a kid and I'm happy that I can return time after time to great pizza. The newly remodeled space looks great. There's a nice pub-like atmosphere. This place is amazing! The beer battered fries cannot be missed... yummy! Their pizza is amazing! What is unbelievable is that they provide three pizza toppings completely free. Whoa! So a pizza with four items is only charged as a one topping pizza! Their prices are wonderful, atmosphere is great and even though it is a bar as well it is very family friendly! Looking for a good sandwich shop and came across the reviews for this place. Thought we should give it a try. BBQ rib sandwich is not fresh made. Similar to the McRib, only thing good about it, it was hot. Also ordered a turkey sandwich, not bad but maybe they could attempt at putting some turkey on it. More than one or two slices would be nice. FF were average but plenty. Pizza was lacking on home made crust and sauce. If you order a ham pizza, sure would be nice to see the ham! I have been eating lagrande pizza for 18+ yrs I ordered 2 pizzas and a pizza sub on 7-3-2019 and everything tasted horrible. I called to complain and ask if anything changed because all of my family said nothing tasted right Soo either the cheese or sauce has changed and it's not good at all and like I said I have been a major lagrande fan and telling everyone they are the best but it sucks now. Guess I have to find my new place as this place is ruined and the service I got when I called was like I didn't matter. I have been a customer since I was a teenager and after 18+ yrs eating their I was just brushed off as if I had never been there before and they would never see me again. As I become a little older and a little wiser, I have learned that many if the best food places are found where you would least expect. Le Grande Pizza is a great example. Wow, was this place good! A group of us stopped by based on a local recommendation and we were not disappointed. I got to try the pizza and fried pickles (not at the same time!) and found both to be way better than you would normally expect. Then I bit into my meal - the steak sandwich. The meat and toppings were savory and delicious. If I lived closer to Wapakoneta, I would eat here all the time. The next time I make it back I will definitely try the burgers. And the best part? The prices! You can eat like a king for under $10. I'm sure there are fancier places to take your hot date (well, maybe a casual date) or your mom, but enjoy this place for what it is - a great local hole in the wall that every small town needs and deserves. read more

If I could give La Grande pizza 10 stars on Yelp, I would! The food is outstanding, Its my personal goal to try every dish on the menu and I haven't been disappointed by a single item yet! The pizza, sub sandwiches, and the plethora of appetizers are to die for (seriously I come from California every year for this food). In addition to the outstanding food, the customer service is second to none. You will always be greeted by a smiling face and the staff at La Grande truly treats you like family. For the first time ever as a professional driver, I was refused service. 2.8 miles away from this business . I was in the north bound rest area at mile marker 114, stuck on my D.O.T. break in my truck with no food besides vending machines. Fellow truckers if your ever stuck here don't bother calling this business they will not deliver to you. Dispite all the bad reviews I called Pizza Hut, suprisinly they delivered and I tipped the driver a $20.00. read more

The pizza was good. The service was bad. Once we received our food, the waitress wouldn't even make eye contact or ask if we needed anything else. Never checked on us. There were only 2 tables being occupied in the place. We had to call to her or wave to her to get more drinks. When we asked for more drinks, the men at our table got served more drinks, but the lady at our table did not get a drink. We had to ask a second time to get her drink refilled. The waitress also had her nose buried in her phone when our party of 4 got up to leave. She didn't even acknowledge we were leaving or thank us. We left way too much tip for the bad service we got. Based on other reviews I tried La Grande. I think another person said it best, it's not great pizza like you might get in NYC or Chi, but it is much better than anything you get at Dominoes or Phut. I would order from here again. The delivery was quick and it was hot when delivered. read more

We always loved ordering food from La Grande. They had great service and food that never disappointed. Lately however, the service has been not-so-great. Not too long ago they forgot an ordered item and we had to wait for a second delivery. Understandable, it happens, no big deal. Today we were missing an item and when we called to report it, they said they only ordered and charged us for one item, not the two that we ordered. They would only deliver 10-15 minutes later if we paid (it was $3.50 item and we already paid for over $20 in food). Just a disappointment that they no longer go the extra mile to make things right when things go wrong. In my experience with customer service, if I make an error taking an order it is my responsibility to fix the problem at no charge especially for such an inexpensive product. It's called an act of goodwill. I know CJ's pizza always does this--should have kept this in mind when choosing where to order. read more
